Manufacturer's Description
In classic white, the 44AW Tumble Dryer is easy on the eye but tough on stains.
A drying capacity of 6 kg lets you deal with a great deal of clothes at one time, and an available matching washing machine will give you a formidable laundry team! A multitude of settings make the 44AW great for those with a variety of needs, especially families or those with a lot of different types of fabric to dry.
Variable temperatures ensure that you’ll find the one that’s right for the type of drying you need to do. A delay timer means that you can set the 44 AW to work exactly when you need it to, and the reverse action drum helps to reduce creasing and make ironing easier! A venting kit is supplied for your convenience, and the 44AW has an inbuilt fluff filter to ensure your clothes stay looking pristine.
Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the White Knight 44AW
-
This tumble dryer looks just like my old one that has just died on me! It doesn't say condensing or vented, my tumble dryer didn't do either, I just cleared the fluff out of the front vent every day. Do you have a hose or just clean the front filter?
-
The dryer is vented but the hose is a bit short for hanging out of a window if you need to do that, we got round that by extending the hose with the hose from our old dryer. it is best to clean the front filter after each use. This dryer performs very well.
-
As previously answered by Keith 19/4/11, it does have a rear hose which is shorter than normal & inbuilt too. The front filter does need cleaning, before each use really, but only the same as every other tumble dryer we've had!
-
-
Is it easy to assemble as my old dryer is just a case of plugging it in to the mains and that is all I require.
-
Yes, that's all I had to do, with the White Knight, plug in and push the button on. Also put the fluff catcher in the door. Very easy to use. Very pleased with it so far, dries quicker than my old White Knight.
-
-
is the fluff filter in the shape of a little cage that is hard to get open -- if you have arthritic hands? ( or is it just a open screen that you scrape the flint off of)
Thanks in advance for your help!-
Hi Doreen, The fluff filter isjust an open screen that slides in and out easily underneath where the door opens. Easy to use you shouldn't have any problems
-
hi doreen the fluff filter is an open screen that you can easily scrap the fluff off .

Hello, my old White Knight [3kg] has just died and am considering this bigger one as it is supposedly cheaper to run. Will I notice the difference, and will it be faster to dry please?
-
Hi
Sorry cant really tell you whether it will be faster as I have never had a White Knight before but I can say I am very happy with mine, I can dry a full load of washing in approximately 30 - 40 minutes including towels etc.
Hope this helps.
-
-
Hi there,Is the dryer on wheels as I havent room for it in the kitchen so it will have to moved when in use. thanks. shirl x
-
no its not on wheels but very good dryer x
-
Hi there, no its not on wheels but its an excellent dryer x
-
-
Every one knows that tumble dryers are very expensive in energy running costs. Is the White Knight any dearer or cheaper on running costs. Does anyone know which tumble dryer is cheapest for electricity costs?
-
Hi sorry i do not know the running cost of this machine but it is i believe triple a rated so it should be fairly economical it does do a good job of drying the clothes so i am happy with that.
-
Every economical to run. All round great machine. We keep ours in the garage an it handles the cool weather without an problems.

i use to own the small white knight many years ago i had it for ten years befor i decided to buy a condenser one after2 years of this it set on fire. i am now looking to buy the bigger white knight.i would like to no if i will be able to put it in my cupboard as i have no space for it and also if it has a reset button on the back.
-
Yes you could put it in a cupboard, but bear in mind the outlet hose has to come round from the back. I don't think there is a reset button on the back, all controls are on the front panel. I hope this helps.
-
yes it has a reset button on the back, it was a direct replacement for a different make/model and went in to the same aperture no problem
-
-
At the moment my White Knight hose sits in a tub which is supplied. This tub is filled with water (as instructed by previous owner) and I was advised to keep the water topped up. This is the first time I have seen this. Is this correct? Or is it ok to put the hose out of the door when the tumble dryer is on?
-
both ways are ok, I had a box but prefer to put my hose out of my window, the box is best if dryer not close to window or door. Hope this helps
-
-
hi at the moment my dryer sits on top of my washer can you do this with the white knight
-
Yes, no problems really because it's fairly light. I've used the White Knight on top of another dryer (so on top of a washing machine I reckon would be even safer), and I've also put a 2nd dryer on top of the White Knight without any problems.
My view is that it will present no problems at all.
My only safety note is that I put the dryer on a 'sticky' type mat on top of the washer which you can buy at most household / DIY stores (in roll form), in order to prevent the possibility of the washer 'walking' off the top by the action of the washer or dryer drum.

-
Does this machine have a rubber seal around the inside of the door opening of the machine (not the actual door itself but the circular door opening of the machine). I ask because my machine is catching clothes on the metal part of the door opening when i take them in and out so i want something with a seal to prevent this. Thanks.
-
NO but its so designed that the cloths are keeped deep inside the machine and dont work their way to the door 0pening , i dont find any problem but im only a man hope this helps.
-
-
does the whiteknight44aw have reverse action when drying
-
My old one did but I have watched this one (to the oint of going boggle-eyed) and it does not appear to. However I did buy a pair of the balls to go in with the drying load and I have had no problem with tangling or things not being dried. From preference though I did like my old one. The balls are very noisy!!
-
-
I have just bought the 6kg White knight, the back seems to get really hot. Can anyone tell me is this the norm, as my daughter usually puts the dryer on at night.
-
mine doesn't get hot but i do have space around it
