- Good points:
- I use mine to record directly off my camera to give me an instant DVD. I film for a league football club and the coaching staff require a DVD of the game as soon as it is over. This Sony recorder is small, easy to use and I can check that it is recording during the game. Perfect! In the past I have used a domestic recorder that is big and bulky, and if the feed lead gets pulled out all I had at the end of the game was a blank disc. Also because of the Sony's small size it is very easy to carry to away games.
- Bad points:
- Pitty it has not got an s video input and there is no video output available.

John, London Professional videographer
- Good points:
- Superb mini dvd player that will work with VCR, DVR, Camcorder, SD and CF cards for easy movie and picture files transfer to DVD. Small, lightweight and simple to use makes this an excellent purchase to transfer movies and pictures without the need for a computer.
- Bad points:
- No cable supplied with the unit to connect to a VCR/DVR and no option to purchase one with the unit. A very stupid decision to not sell this cable as an additional extra as the unit cannot connect to a VCR or DVR without it!

-
Hi I have only used this machine to copy from my Sony camcorder to DVD of which is so easy to do & does a great job
But if you want to copy your old VHS tapes to DVD using this machine I'm not sure if you can do this here is a link to Sony support
http://support.sony-europe.com/main/main.aspx?l=en
They are very good & I'm sure they will give you the info you want
But before I found out about the Sony copier I was using a machine I bought from MAPLIN it has a VHS player on one side & on the other side it has a DVD recorder which is a so easy to use
I have put all my old VHS tapes on to DVD plus other peoples old VHS tapes using it
I hope this info was helpful if I had to rate this Sony VRD-MC6 I would give it a 9 out of 10

I have been using this DVD SonyMulti-DVD Records DVD Recorder for some time and am very pleased with it. I have a question. Currently I am starting and stopping the device and copying materials as time is available for me. Is that ok to do? I noticed that every time I turn it on; I do get a new time display. I want to make sure I am not going round and round and losing previous copied data? Can you advise if s it is ok to stop, start and actully stop the device and continue on the next day or so? Thank You
-

Can you play pre-recorded DVDs on this machine, directly plugged into a TV?
In other words, is it a DVD player as well as recorder?
Rgds

Yes I'm certain you can do because you can use a TV when you plug in your camcorder to edit your movie
