- The image quality is without peer in a zoom lens. Images are so sharp and full of detail. The AF is fast and silent making this lens a enjoy to use and own. I'm proud to own this lens, thank you Sony.

I use the konverter B.I.G.1,4x and AF is no problem. I must help sometimes
with manuell focussing,even though the switch is in position AF.
Can I damage the motor of the autofocus.

I wouldn't think so but I am not qualified to say so I would try contacting the converters manufacturer. The 70400 is a very good lens and converters always hinder the quality of the picture, even when designed to be used specifically with the lens so be sure you are getting the results you want and you are using a god tripod.
