- Good points:
- I have never heard ANYTHING that sounds as good as these headphones. The bass delivery is immense and the high-end frequency range exceeds the human ability to hear! THE best hundred quid i ever spent. They are really well made, are extremely comfortable, and if you wanna give your ears an orgasm, here's the way to go.
- Bad points:
- Bad points... ...umm... ...it was raining when i went to pick them up.

- Good points:
-
Mind bending bass that fits in with rest of the range without causing any problems for beautiful sound quality.
Sounds fantastic with dubstep, drum and bass, death metal and even has the clarity for hectic black metal.
Sturdy metal construction. Won't fall apart like some other brands *cough* skullcandy *cough*.
The most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. Tenfold.
Flat tangle free wires actually work. I hope this becomes a widespread feature for headphones. - Bad points:
-
I have heard significantly better sound isolation (both inside out and outside in), but still very good. I wear them daily on a noisy bus with lots of people talking and I don't have any complaints.
95% of speakers and other headphones will now sound weak and pathetic.
Stupid comments from people about how big your headphones are.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony MDR-XB700

would u wear them to college, and is something like a banjo clear sounding?
-
Hi there,
Personally I wouldn't, I use them for travelling and in my room because the sound they produce is top quality. I have never heard a banjo with them but the trebles and mids are really good. The bass is probably the best quality of the headphones but it doesn't crowd out the mids and trebles, just depends on the music you listen to. Overall an amazing product for what you pay. I mean I've heard the Beats headphones for example and I just can't justify spending so much more for a marginal increase in quality. Hope that helps.

-
do you suggest buying this much big headphones although the headphone sound quality is so good
-
If you're worried about them being so big there are 2 smaller versions of this. They have smaller driver units but I guess they will still be quality.
-
-
do they have good sound canceling ability
-
They do have good sound cancelling ability, even though it's passive, like when you listen to music even at mid volume you can't hear much.
-

I own the MDR XB500, and I wear them to college all the time, but I want to move on to these big babies, what's your view?
-
Well i've never tried the MDR XB500, but the 700's are superb, especially if you listen to a lot of drum and bass or electronic. You will get sarcastic comments like "do you want any bigger headphones?" and stuff like that but it doesn't bother me ^^

H, I have studio beats; I'm considering buying some of these; I already know that the bass is better than the studio's but I listen to a lot of soft rock and reggae, so i was wondering if the Sony XB-700 are able to produce the same clarity as the beats or does the bass ruin the sound quality. Cheers
-
I have no clue comparatively-wise. I've never listened to the studio beats! Sorry! Personally I listen to any kind of music on these and they are pretty damn good all around.
-
-
I normally listen to all kind of musics, mostly I like bass in all.. Would anyone pls suggest me the best out of these two, MDR-XB700 or MDR-XB500..?
-
I can't compare the MDR-XB700 to the 500's as i haven't tried the 500's i can on the other hand say that the 700's are great for all types of music, i listen to music ranging from drum and bass to punk rock, and the quality is great. The voices are clear, the bass is punchy and it's just great overall :D hope this helps.
