- Good points:
- The picture is great in both SD and HD to the point where I only get my favorite films on Bluray as the non upscaling DVD player looks great on this set. It has lots of input choices USB, HDMI x 4, SCART x 2, PC (VGA), Component, Composite and RF. It also has a freeview tuner which gives me a limited service with a normal not for digital aerial! It also features optical and RCA audio out and an ethernet port for applications. The feature I got it for is the presence sensor which I love as the family tend to put the TV on and leave it on when they leave the room. The styling is typical of the mid to high end sets and it looks great. It looks massive when you first get it but when you get used to it you will be back to sitting 3ft from the screen getting immersed in PS3 games! The green switch is also great as I don't like leaving sets on standby.
- Bad points:
- The optical out does not throughput surround from HDMI connections (Don't know if this is possible but it would be nice if it did). The sound is relatively good for a flat pannel but as expected for this type of set the low end is missing. Interestingly the presence sensor does not detect the wife too well and the screen tends to want to go in to power save when she is watching it and she has to move about to keep it on (this feature can be switched of or set to longer times if desired) I leave it on 5min's so that when she falls asleep the screen goes off :-).

- Good points:
- Buy it for the ECO features. We have children (and me!) that often watch TV and then head off somewhere for a while, the presence sensor works well and saves power by turning off the screen (sound still plays). The TV will go to standby if nothing is done to it (e.g. channel/volume change etc.) after a programmable amount of time too. Works well with Panasonic blu-ray player
- Bad points:
-
Applicast is a bit of a con, hardly any apps. DLNA is a joke, only plays AVHCD videos from Sony PCs unless you spend time setting up media server apps on your PC like PlayOn.
My TV didn't play nice with a Sony BDP360 blu-ray player but suspect that was more the player than the TV, a Panasonic BD60EB works perfectly with it, including being able to control the player from the Sony remote. It would be good if the presence sensor timer and the "auto-standy" were linked - if you had the thing to turn off after 2 hours of "inactivity" (e.g. watching a long movie), the fact that you've been moving around (activating the presence sensor) seems to be ignored - you need to do something like turn the volume up/down to cancel the TV turning off. You do get a warning that this is about to happen though, so it's not all bad and I suppose means if you've fallen asleep the TV will save power in the long run...
