- Good points:
- The HD images are wonderful and clear. The internet works well, but the menu is a bit fiddly. The whole thing despite it's size is elegant and my only regret is not having the guts to go for a bigger one.
- Bad points:
- It becomes harder and harder to watch Standard transmission, things llook smudged in comparison. I've jsut bought my Mother and LG HD tv for xmas and while the her HD picture is not as good as mine her stanfdard one is much better.

- Good points:
- I bought my TV with a price match so it was really good value! The picture is pin sharp but you really do need a sound system rather the on-board speakers
- Bad points:
- Why are the 3D glasses so expensive and why is the 3D transmitter no built into the system??? Come on Sony you are suppose to be the leader!

- Good points:
- 3D
- Bad points:
- Screen is too reflective, mirrors all the light coming through the windows and mirrors electrical lighting, when the suns out it is very difficult to watch anything. We have to draw the curtains.

- Good points:
-
Bright sharp pictures with good black levels.
HDMI control of external devices works well.
Internet connect features are nice including the BBC iPlayer. - Bad points:
-
Some backlight bleed can be seen at the edges under certain circumstances.
Sound is not great but if you are buying a 46" TV then a good seperate surround system is essential to complement the viewing experience!

- Good points:
-
Picture quality very good, and lots of adjustment possible.
Every AV input can have its own picture settings. - Bad points:
-
Sound quality not brilliant, only OK, but I guess most people buying a TV like this would have an external surround sound.
Doesn't automatically switch to AV inputs, except for other Sony products.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony KDL-46HX803
-
Where does the 3D transmitter go. Is it Obstructive?
-
Sits on the top of the set or by the side. Not really obtrusive and you forget its there!.
Delighted with the TV! -
we have it on top of our sky box - very unobtrusive. Agree that TV is brillaint
-
-
Would the siting of the 3D transmitter be a problem if the tv was mounted on a wall.
I did not realise the 3D came separately.-
I have my TV mounted on the wall and have attched the 3D transmitter to the bottom edge of the screen. It works perfectly well in this position.
-
Hi I think you better ask Sony about this one. It sounds technical and ours isnt mounted on a wall.
Otherwise super TV. -
The 3D transmitter is normally mounted on the top edge, centre of the TV this is possible either wall mounted or on the stand. there are suitable holes in the centre top edge of the TV
Hope this helps
Regards Bren

Reviews say the sound quality is poor is this so?
-
The sound quality on our Sony TV is good but not 'all round' sound that you may expect with a TV that is capable of 3d production. We are very satisfied with the set and await the release of more BluRay films in 3d!
Hope this is of some help

i was told i can update the tv through the internet connection. how do i do this.
-
if any updates are available, a message will come on screen when you access internet tv
-
-
i was told i can update the tv through the internet connection. how do i do this.
-
No, incorrect, you download the update from the support site via a USB stick which goes into the side of the TV to perform the update. Not by connecting it direct to the internet
-
-
Why is this model being replaced?
-
I dont know but Sony regularly replace their models. Updating them keeps them fresh looking adds more features and maintains the prices.
-
-
Anybody know why DLNA streams music & photos, but no video, like television series and normal SD movies? Thanks in advance.
-
Sorry can't newer that one?
-
?DLNA - I am sorry but I don't understand the query - and to be truthful, we haven't explored the Sony's potential yet - rugby world cup and diving holiday took priority!
-
-
Thanks ross, but the query is can the hx803 stream any mpeg4 formats from a PC,i know mkv is outa the question.
-
If I want to watch any thing from the PC I use a USB stick and plugs this into the USB on the TV and must formats works well, but unfortunately mpeg4 is not supported.
