Score 9.0/10
Good points:
I like the idea of the Bravia Sync and the ability to connect other compatible units Blu-ray, Av, Speakers etc., utilising just one remote !
Bad points:
The on-screen TV guide text is quite small to read and the buttons on the remote likewise !

Also when accessing Youtube I couldn't find any explanation on how to obtain the on-screen keypad in the instructions, it was just by chance that I pressed enter on the highlighted search, initially I tried writing directly in the adjacent box utilising the remote which only changed the channel !

Score 1.0/10
Good points:
Design. Picture Quality. Connectivity.
Bad points:
I have had a re-occuring fault with this TV since new. It's not gone to be repaired for the same fault no less than 4 times. The manufacturer will still not replace the set. I get it back from the repairers and everything is fine for 4-6 months and then the set completely stops working with no sound or picture. I am so tired of the inconvenience. Every electronic product I have is the same brand but this has really made me think twice. Pretty disgusted actually.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony KDL-32W5500

  1. Hi how do I remove the adverts (normally Aviva) from the programme guide
    bill asked on
    1. have never been able to and the poor guide has puy me of buying an other sony
      doris replied on

  2. Can I connect wirelessly to my Home Network?
    Brian asked on
    1. Sorry Brian, I just have the TV on its own, but there is a USB socket for connection to a computer. When choosing which channel to watch, be it ordinary TV, cable/sky, on the very bottom is the option to use the TV to connect the PC to the TV. Not having tried this I cannot give you an answer.
      Ken replied on

  3. I have this model, but cannot access Freeview. What am I doing wrong.
    Mike asked on
    1. I cannot say what you are doing wrong
I have no problem with obtaining Freeview
It may be that you have not re-tuned to the digital format
      Eon replied on

    2. Same as above i cannot say. Make sure you have retuned your tv, that All Of your cables are plugged in correctly and that you have an antena.

Other than that make sure you have your TV set to digital and not analogue as these signals have now been switched off.
      Luke replied on

    3. I don't have any trouble with Freeview, I'm on cable so I get all channels no problem.
      Tony replied on

  4. Can you use the sony BIVL service with this TV
    Gaz asked on
    1. I do not know as I use an attached ps3 and appletv for Internet video
      Mark replied on

  5. Does this model feature an 'Audio' button on the remote control ?

    Thank you
    JAMES asked on
    1. Hi James,as far as I can see on renute the answer is no, I lost the directions and ther are some buttons at the top of remote still don't know what for, shop wanted 15 p0unds for a copy of directions
      doris
      doris replied on

    2. hi James, Yes, the remote does feature an 'audio' button. I do not know what it does, nor ahve I had occasion to use it
      Bernard replied on

  6. Thank you to the two people who responded to my question regarding the audio button, but it still leaves me confused. The Sony website features two conflicting instruction manuals showing two different remotes. Just to be sure, could anyone else please just confirm for me if their remote features an audio button for this model TV ?

    Thanks very much !
    JAMES asked on
    1. Hi James, there is an audio button on mine, but what is it about this you need to know? Regards, Tak
      Tak replied on

  7. I have just purchased one of these TV’s as a present for someone, and can only check the TV as far as turning it on without going through all of the setup process. Can anyone please tell me, is the TV initially slow to turn on because it has not been setup ? It seems to be a bit slow coming on after I press the power button.

    Thank you
    JAMES asked on
    1. Yeah takes a while but good picture
      Graham replied on

    2. I use mine with SKY satellite and following swich on it does take a few second from the standby going to green until the picture appears.
Much longer than the former CRT took.
      Peter replied on

    3. It does, but its worth it!
      Luke replied on

    4. It is a good picture, though my old sony crt is still without fault 10 years on, this has lasted 3 years!
