- Good points:
- Being able to take still photo's whilst taking video film. Good low light results.
- Bad points:
- Sometimes the auto focus takes a long time to initially focus. This camera was purchased to replace a Sony DCR-PC350E which is both lighter and easier to use.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony HDR-HC9E
-
Would you recomend this camera for university film work (short films of 30 mins and music videos etc.)
-
Hi, I have found it produces very good results provided you capture it properly and render movies at high quality. I now use HD Split which you can get free and does not drop frames. I alternate between Avid and Premiere Elements. I save films at 1080i 25. Then edit in Pinnacle or Premiere. If you don't mind capturing tape on PC it will do what you want, but ask others too :)

-
Can the camcorder record onto an SD card and what is the best way to get the recorded video onto a mac
-
Hi I don't think it will do an SD Card. Not sure about Mac, I use Premier Elements and HD Split.
