- Good points:
- Good range of features, especially like the accessibility of the volume control knob. Other knobs and buttons less easy to find compared with the FX1E, The still picture facility is useful.
- Bad points:
- The viewing screen is smaller than the FX1E and the preset buttons are smaller and less easy to use. The battery just about disappears into its holder, which was obviously designed for a larger battery (not supplied). Controls and ports/sockets in different places to the FX1E without any apparent rationale for the change. Annoying.

- Good points:
- It is easy to use, straight out of the box. Love the shutter on the lens to avoid constantly trying to find someone to put a lense cap. It's a beautiful camera all in all and performs well. The IRIS exposure control and light settings are very useful and shutter speed controls make for some interesting shots. I like it personally and for HDV (1440x1080) it's probably the best value for money you'll find and working in HDV to minDV cassette you are still able to work with manageable file sizes (similar to those in the SD range). Like the HDMI and firewire outlets, nice and tight.
- Bad points:
- Not many bad points really. Neutral Density filters are a bit harsh. In the field it does struggle in low light situations compared to it's Canon counterparts but you can work round these with the IRIS controls or preferably just good lighting. Sony dont supply this with a camera strap, decent capacity battery or charger which does do much for me in terms of recommending their brand. A replacement Sony NP950 battery will give you over 5 hours normal stop/start shooting, probably even more but they aren't cheap!
