Have just bought one and wanted to find out, before I send it back, whether the lid opens when the hold button is on. Every other button is disabled but if my young daughter can get to the disc, what is the point? Thanks

yes every other button is disabled except the disc button i dont think that button can be looked because it serves a differnet purpose than the other buttons

Yes, it comes with the connector lead you need so don't forget to take it with you and ready. Note the tv will need to have the right inputs but they nearly always have the standard phono plugs on them.

Can the picture size be altered to fit the screen? Some DVD's show black gaps at the side while others show them top and bottom

yes i`ve been able to change the picture size

The orientation of the picture is governed by the film itself but i think you can change it from 4:3 to 16:9 in the settings. Don't know how though

what is the weight with the battery in?

I have just weighed the unit on the kitchen scales and it weighs around 815g. The battery doesn't come out so this is the gross weight including a disk. Remember if you are taking it away and want to include it in your baggage allowance, you will need to add the charger too which doesn't weigh much but is worth bearing in mind.
