- Good points:
- Design, Compact size, build quality, superb picture quality
- Bad points:
- No one-button access to exposure compensation. The highest resolution of 10.2M gives a picture ratio of 4:3 so 6x4 reference prints have to be cropped or resized. The 3:2 ratio is available only at 8M resolution.

- Good points:
- Similar to previous Sonys I've owned with additional features and if anything easier to use.
- Bad points:
- The flash appears to be either "auto" or "off" - I want a manual option. I'm on the verge of having to read the manual....

Sensational images, even in low light
Many cameras struggle to produce crisp, clear images in low light. The revolutionary Exmor R CMOS sensor boosts sensitivity while reducing image noise for brilliant, detail-packed pictures.

The optional IPT-DS1 Party-shot turns Cyber-shot into your own personal photographer, automatically shooting beautifully-framed pictures of everyone in the room – including you.

Pack more into every scene
Dramatic landscapes, architectural shots, interiors and even family scenes can produce disappointing results when a scene gets cut off at the edges. A wide angle lens lets you pack more into the picture without having to stand further back from the subject.
The camera that thinks its a camcorder
Left your camcorder behind? Don’t worry: now you can capture crisp, clear HD movie clips at an incredible 30 frames per second for smooth, clear action. Watch the results on your BRAVIA television: you’ll be amazed by the quality, detail and colour.

Hi,
Does the WX1 have multi shot like my W300?
I use it for rapid multi shot shooting during sports.
Thank you
Paul Howard-
although my camera has given me very good general photos, it has not got the rapid shot feature that you require
-
Although I like my camera very much and have since been on holiday and had good clear photos of scenes portrates etc, unfortunatly it has not got the rapid shot feature that you require
-
-
Is the picture quality good enough to have the picture blown up in to a high quality poster, roughly 120cm in length (x the equivalent height)?
I plan on making many posters with this from normal shots and the panoramic sweep shots.
-
I dont know about the size you want, but I have done some A4 of Worcester from a hot air baloon and the details of the buildings (windows chimneys Masonary Railway lines etc) were amasingly detailed.
-
Hi
I've not printed the panoramic yet, but the detail is really good for larger size pictures
Thanks James
-
-
I cannot seem to copy the video I have taken onto my personal computer although I could do this with my previous camera.
This was a sony DSCw30 and copied them as with the rest of the still photos. Please help if you can as I have just purchased this WX1 and if it is faulty I need to know-
Sorry I have not done this yet, but I sugest you ask at a Sony Center they will help you
-
-
DOES IT TAKE A STANDARD SD CARD OR MUST IT HAVE A SPECIAL SONY CARD?
-
Standard SD
-
It takes any Standard SD cards
-
-
Can you really use a SD card in the WX1. It would be good but the literature from Sony does not say this.
Thanks-
It uses a memory stick pro dou 8gb
-
I use a Lexar memory stick pro duo mark2
-
-
I have just bought this camera and was wondering how long I need to charge the battery for before I use it for the first time? Thanks.
-
Just put it in the charger over night, it will switch itself off when full.
-
Just charge it until it's full, in the past the first charge used to be 18 ish hours but now it's ok to just charge it as you would normally.
Thanks James
-
-
Cannot find black and white mode. Is it available Thanks Mike
-
