- Good points:
- Compact, unobtrusive design. Enough power to fill the room. Good value.
- Bad points:
- Only one input (single aux.). Adding more inputs would massively expand the versatility and longevity of this unit, and could not add but a fiver to the price. But I suspect Sony and all the other manufacturers get a significant premium when you bump up to units with more inputs and versatility. Needlessly short speaker cables.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony CMT-HX90BTR

We have a Sony MHC WZ5 system on which the CD tray has been damaged. Can the turntable we have with that system plug in to this one?
-
Hi Mick i haven't seen an auxcillary connection on the back, have a look to see if you can find a plug at the back
-
-
I have purchased a Sony Micro Hi Fi CMT-BX77DBi. There is interference on the radio when I use the lead antenna supplied. The leaflet suggests using a DAB external antenna. Could anyone recommend a good one to use? Thank you
-
I'm not quite sure Neil, it could be your location. I purchase the same system and the DAB is perfect without external antena.
-
Hi Neil, my system and sound works perfectly without any other antenna. Have you tried it in a different location and perhaps putting the antenna higher up ?
-
-
could i connect this system to an amplifier?
-
No afraid not, the amp is integrated like most hi-fi systems. No inputs or outputs for an auxillary or amp , only a digital coaxial input lead.
-
sorry but i have no idea ive never tried! its pretty loud though and really good sound quality
-
-
Is the iPod dock compatible with iPhone 4?
-
I am using an ipod4 so not sure but ring a sony shop and sure they will tell you. Good luck. Bill
-
Not sure, it def is with iPod touch and iPhone 3GS
-
-
is this system compatible with the iphone 4
-
SORRY MATE.
I DON'T HAVE AN I PHONE.
CAN'T HELP -
Well I have an iPod4 and it works fantastically, plays all my I tunes and you can control them from the unit. Would highly recommend this system. Hope this is usefull to you.

Sorry, can't help you on that one.

Hi, I am thinking of buying this and I was wondering whether any one has connected it up to a turn table and how the sound quality is, i.e lound enough? I dont think there are ports for the yellow/red cable however I have an adapter to convert them both from the turntable into normal audio jack.
-
There are no input sockets on this unit at all other than for the antenna. This is a link to the manual but I don't see how you could connect a turntable to it.

Hi
Can you use an IPOD shuffle with this system?
Thanks-
unsure Jade,I just use my I POD 4 with it and its a quality sound.
-
the only fitting I can see is one which would suit an ipod touch/nano
-
-
i am thinking of buying this item , the system i have at the moment has a volume which goes up from the number 1 , but this is still a bit on the loud side at times do you think this system is more controllable
-
It depends, all systems sounds varies and to say whether it'd be ok for would be subjective. To the best of my knowledge, all digital volume control starts from 1 and upto to it max, and all level of noise or sound impact varies from brands to models.
I think what you should do is to pop down to your local Curry's, Comet, etc where you could able to test it. May i suggest that you go there when it is really quiet so that you'd able to guage volume more appropriately. -
Yea it does go pretty quiet but I'm not sure how quiet you want it! It's a really good system tho
-
-
I am thinking of buying this product, but only have an iphone and not and ipod, is it compatiable with iphone, and does it charge iphone whilst plugged in to dock?
-
Yes i believe it does but you will need to get a plastic surround to support the phone this is explianed in the manual
-
Yes, it is compatible with I phone and you can charge from base. Produces a very good sound.
