- Good points:
- I found the zoom to be firm but extremely easy to control without any jumps, the lens is also fairly light compared to previous zoom lenses of this range. Excellent value for money.
- Bad points:
- There is under very poor light conditions a slight tail off in clarity at the edges of the picture frame, but this is not very noticeable.

Hi, has anyone tried this lens at airshows if so how do you rate it
-
Sorry I've not used this lens for air shows. I've only used this lens on holiday in New York.
-
Haven't used it at an air show but took some half decent photos of the Red Arrows over Weymouth in the Summer.

I have a sony dslr alpha a390 im practically teaching myself to be a photographer i am usually taking photo's of my boyfriends local band and thought this lens looks perfect for what i need but when looking on the sony site i could not find that my camera was compatible with this lens. However coming onto jessops.com there is nothing on here to say that my camera isnt compatible...any information would be great!
-
It fits to my camera which is an Alpha 200. I see no reason why it shouldn't fit yours as it has the standard bayonet fitting.
-
-
which is better photo quality on 75-300 or 70-300 i know that 75-300 from G series and that 70-300 is cost less.yust i nead to know how big different on quality.i'm looking for zoom lens
-
I can't tell you the difference in quality as I only have the 75-300 which I find gives excellent results.
-
-
Hi again i bought is well sony 75-300 but when taking pictures it's focusing only nierest things or only background.is taht any posibility to change for bouth good quality front and background picture.
-
I can only think that you must use the landscape or portrait feature on the camera. Landscape will focus everything in view and portrait will focus only on the front.

Is this Lens compatible with my A55?
Thanks guys.-
yes, I bought this at the same as I bought my sony.
-
-
Willk this fit a NEX-5 without the need for a adjustment ring ? excuse my ingnorance.
-
it should do if your lens is 55mm
-
-
I was at a concert last night and my normal 55 mm lens really let me down and left me bemused as I was expecting more therefore I was looking into long range lenses and thought this was a good option. Will it work with a sony a290? Many thanks.
-
I don't know. I have an Alpha200. It is quite heavy and difficult to take quick shots fully extended if you have it hand held.
-
Hi, as long as your lens is a 55mm it will fit the A290, this is what I use.
Hope that helps
-
-
is this lens can fit on sony nex 3 ?
-
I can't answer question as I only have sony A290 but I wooul dthink the if it has a 55mm fitting then it should do.
-
-
Hi could you tell me will this lense fit my Alpha a290
-
Yes, I have the same camera in fact I bought these at the same time
-
-
I have a sony a330, will this lens fit?
-
if the thread is 55mm on the camer and lens then it should do
-
-
Hi! i just like to know that, i have a Sony a500 SLR. is it gonna fit with my a500? And also i would like to know that which country is the lens made in?
-
This is made in china, the lens should state which camera it fits next to the Sony name, it should state "Lens for DSLR" camera
-
-
can i use this lens in a290l dslr?
-
yes, that is what I use on mine
-
-
Is this lens compatible with the Sony A33 or similar A55....confusion because one owner says it is..but the Sony website does not include the A33 in its list of compatible cameras for this lens.
-
I use this lens on my A290 and do not have nay problems
-
I am not sure I am qualified to answer this question. Although according to Am.....n reviews and Flickr discussion there does not seem to be a problem with compatibility on A33.
It is certainly compatible with my A200 and A700.
Hope this helps
-
-
Sorry for the repetition... i've got an a230 and don't know if it will fit... it isn't stated in the sony compatible products. :/
-
You need to look at your camera lens and see what size it is, if it has 55mm printed on the outer cover then the lens will fit
-
-
I have a Sony alpha 380. Is this lens compatiable? Please help.
-
Sorry I can only say that it was compatible with my previous A200 and it still compatible with my A700. I have no experience of the A380
-
-
I have a 75-300mm Minolta lens and although it is good I find it quite slow to focus and often find the quality is lost as you zoom closer. Is this the case with the Sony SAL lens?
-
Hi Natalie,
I would say on the whole the Sony SAL lens is quick to focus, it may "hunt" a little when the focal length is changed dramatically but its not a problem I have had.
In fact recently I "shot" foxes with their cubs and the lens coped well with the quick responses needed for that.
Also certainly no loss of quality when zooming closer, as with all focal lengths just make sure your shutter speed is at least 1 to 1 & a half times your focal length for sharp images which I am sure you know.
Good luck with whatever you choose, for the price I think this is an outstanding lens, although I still would like a Sony G series lens if the cash was available!

-
I have a Konica Minolta DYNAX 7D I am using a SONY SAL1855 on it now will the 75-300 fit my camera .
-
Sorry I can only say that this lens fits both my Sony A200 and A700.
I imagine that if your camera accepts an A mount lens it would fit but cannot say for sure.
You may find out more if you ask the question on a Sony/Minolta forum, there are a few on the internet.
Good Luck

Is it compatible with a Sony a350?
-
As long as your Sony a35 has the Sony A lens fitting it should fit but I would check with a sales rep just to make sure.

Hi, I have a Sony A500 which was the first SLR that Sony produced after taking over Minolta and the lens fits it and the new 65, so there shouldn't be a problem, if your not sure take your gear to your local Sony dealer and try the lens with your camera, that's what I did, ATB

Is this lens compatible with the Sony A33 camera?
-
I dont know as I have a Alpha 230 I would think that the mount is universal as for the lens it is reasonably priced and has lived upto my expectations I have had the lens 3-4 months but it is Sony there repertation is second to none
I hope that this has been a little help would suggest a visit to your local Sony dealer. Tony
