- Good points:
- Intuitive control layout, solid build, my 2nd 900 and I would buy a third in a heartbeat.
- Bad points:
- Need's faster AF, I use primarily for motorsports and find the focusing lacking in speed compared to the opposition, more FF lenses needed to get anywhere near C*N*N

impressive detail with full frame sensor.
many useful features and customizable - Bad points:

I had some trouble getting the colour settings to produce a natural look when outdoors in bright sunlight and shade.
The contrast between sun and shade was harsh and had to be adjusted, but that maybe because i am not yet fully familiar with the controls.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 (Body Only)
-
is there any news of firmware upgrades for the adslr 900.
-
I have not seen any information about firmware upgrades, a good place to check is www.photoclubalpha.com or even on sony's own website
-
-
what is the maximum capacity for the storage media the alpha 900 can use?
-
You can have 2 memory cards in the camera body at the same time, 1 compact flash and 1 memory stick duo. Both cards can be up to 16GB. each. Giving you a total storage capacity of 32GB.
-
Are you sure that you want to use maximum capacity storage. My personal feeling is that prefer to use 4 GB and 8 GB compact flash cards, so that in the event of loosing one its not a complete disaster. When using colur slide film I would send my films for processing in batches of 4, and not rolls used in sequence. That way if they were lost or there was some problem in the processing I also reduced the chances of a complete disaster
-
-
hi my name is haz and i have just bought a900 do i have to get the upgrade or this is all ready done. what is the advantages of the upgrade?
-
The only upgrade i no about is to the sony raw driver, if you are using any other raw converters like camera raw or lightroom then it would not be required. The upgrade enabled the sony raw converter to work on systems using vista 64 bit
-
Hi Haz,
It is always checking for up grades when you buy, as the camera could have been manufactured sometime before your purchase. Also check every 4 months in case there have been further upgrades.
-
-
What's the best lens to use for the 900?
-
135mm f1.8
-
-
