It connects to our wireless network and works very well
Bad points:
you have to login to the network each time you turn the blu-ray player on, at the moment we have not found a way for the blu-ray player to remember the login details.

Score 5.0/10
Good points:
The idea of connecting my TV to the internet and other hardware around the house is quite appealing and the adaptor does what it meant to.
Bad points:
You don't have any real choice if you want to connect your TV (only the Samsung adaptors work) and currently only IPayer and YouTube are really any use. Until more apps are available it's not an essential bit of kit.

This product will not work with a Freesat Box to enable you to use BBC i player or 4 Ondemand. It will only work with a smart TV that has the nessersary chip inside. I was advised that I could use this stick in the back of my freesat box but when I asked about it at Samsung help desk they told me it would only work in and with a smart TV.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Samsung WIS09ABGN

  1. just bought one , connected it to my tv, it shows on the screen that it is connected, but cant get any channel. what am i not doing?
    tony asked on
    1. You need to be conected properly to router. And this is only for sharing media from your computer.you need do some setings ni your pc. You need to do test of your connection in your tv and after that it will show you what is wrong.hoppe i helpped
      Karol replied on

  2. Is the Dongle worth buying for the Samsung Apps that are available? Or does it not add much benifit to the TV?
    Ollie asked on
    1. I don't know about getting more Samsung apps onto the TV, but it does BBC iplayer, lovefilm and youtube. It would be nice if you do the 4onDemand etc, not just BBC. I have used it to stream from my PC over WiFi. Not had any WiFi connectivity issues. I have found the BBC iplayer doesn't like being paused, it eventually freezes and you have to exit and restart (you can fast forward a minute at a time)
      Neil replied on

    2. works well if you have networked you computer as i can watch films direct from my hard drive
