Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Samsung PL150

  1. does the camera have a noise on it for young children too look at the camera?
    Chloe asked on
    1. Yes when you use the child mode a funny cartoon shows up and it makes charactor noises...A great addition and it works children look straight at the camera and laugh
      nick replied on

    2. yes it does
      Emma replied on

    3. Yes when you use the cartoon clown on the screen on the front of the camera, and it is quite loud and effective.
      Malcolm replied on

  2. What type of memory card does the PL150 camera take?
    Amy asked on
    1. SanDisc microSDHC.
      I found a 8GB card on Amazon for £9.99
      Malcolm replied on

  3. Do you always have to have the front LCD screen on, or is there a way of switching it off if you want when taking photo's?
    Sue asked on
    1. The front LCD screen is only on when you need it, you have to turn it on.
It is easy to operate with a button on the top of the camera.
      Malcolm replied on

    2. there is a button at the top of the camera beside the power button that turns the front screen on and off
      Emma replied on

  4. what is the picture quality, at day and night, of people as well as background?
    kim asked on
    1. Picture quality by day is very good, but I haven't used it enough at night to answer your question although I am happy with the resuls so far. As a newcomer to digital photography I am still learning how and when to use the different settings within the camera, but so far I am very impressed with it.
      Malcolm replied on

    2. Picture quality is very good both at day and night and there are setting and scene modes which make it easy to choose the right settings. i have found though at times the photos in low energy bulb rooms is slight yellow but this is common with most cameras of this standard. i like the camera but the only draw back I am not keen on the fact that it uses a mini sd card. I also found the software to transfer the photos to facebook or pc is not all that. For the cost though I paid around £119 on sale a good camera. Anything more and i would opt for a better quality camera.
      nick replied on

    3. the picture quality is good on the camera at both night and day, the only flaw i have come across is that the front screen doesnt use the flash, so if its poor lighting and your using the front lcd the quality isnt that great, though that could be my fault and i just dont know how to put the flash on with that screen.
      Emma replied on

  5. is there a big gap of time in-between taking photos
    gavin asked on
    1. not specifically no it takes a bit longer when using the front lcd
      Emma replied on

    2. Not that I have noticed.
      Malcolm replied on

  6. is it good

    harry asked on
    1. I think it's very good.
      Malcolm replied on

  7. HI DOES THIS HAVE THE OPTION TO SET THE MODE AUTOMATICALLY LIKE THE SONY DSCW320B CAMERA, IT ADJUSTS THE SETTING TO THE VIEW YOU ARE TAKING AUTOMATICALLY FOR YOU..I WOULD BE USING IT MOSTLY FOR THE GIRLS ON HORSE BACK CROSS COUNRTY ECT.
    MOLLY asked on
    1. it is originally set up in automatic mode, my mum used it on me when i was doing a horse-riding, jumping lesson and if you edit the functions there is a jumping option which takes, i think 3 photos in a row, to ensure you get a good movement shot.
      Emma replied on

    2. It has some automatic modes, but I am not familiar with the SonyDSCW320B. You have to choose the mode. The speed & focus will adjust to the view & light conditions.
      Malcolm replied on

  8. HI DOES THIS HAVE A POINT AND SHOOT MODE SETTINGS...
    MOLLY. asked on
    1. yes it has all setting you would expect with a camera
      Emma replied on

    2. yes
      Malcolm replied on

  9. what's the quality of the flash? and the picture quality at night?
    yaseenah asked on
    1. Haven't taken many pictures with flash but those I have are good.
Sorry I'm not able to compare it with similar cameras.

      Malcolm replied on

    2. the flash is fantastic and picture quality extreamly good with night photos
      dianne replied on

  10. Is the battery built in and charged up, or can it take AA batteries that I much prefer, being able to carry spares in case they run out when I am out
    Lance asked on
    1. it has a built in battery which to be honest if you charge up the night/day before you need it, will easily last you when your out
      Emma replied on

    2. Battery is built in and has a very good "life" . My advice would be not to worry about it.
      Malcolm replied on

  11. Do you have any warranty from manufacturer?
    tanvir asked on
    1. There is a warranty card that comes with the camera, it doesn't seem to give much more than your normal rights should cover. I would always take items back to where I purchased them. that is one reason why I got my camera from Tesco.
      Malcolm replied on

  12. Does the camera come with cable to download your photos onto laptop? I read one review that said it didn't but cannot find anywhere else that tells you that.

    Wendy asked on
    1. the cable that connects to the laptop is the charger. the cable comes out the charger and plugs into the computer via usb...sorry hard to explain, its like an ipod charger in that sence.
      Emma replied on

    2. Yes it does, the charger cable disconects from the 3 pin electric plug so that you can plug into a USB port. It's very easy to use.
      Malcolm replied on

  13. Has anyone used the Macro feature to take a close up picture of one object in the scene and the rest not focused?
    Gully asked on
    1. This camera is like the vast majority, it is not possible for it to focus on a close object and have the background in focus. If your clever you take 2 photo's one of the object and one of the background and use a photo editing program to merge them.( I haven't tried it but it can be done.)
      Malcolm replied on

  14. I am thinking of buying this camera, but before I do, can you anwer a question? Is there a camera on the market which has an 'eye viewer' which my present camera has and I find very very useful when the sun is strong and one cannot see anything thro the viewfinder. Thanks.
    Cherry asked on
    1. Hi Cherry, I think you would have to have an SLR for an eye viewer but I could be wrong. The camera above doesnt have one although the screen on the back is nearly as big as the camera itself which is handy. Havent seen enough sun since I bought the camera to know if I will be able to see the screen clearly enough in bright sunlight. Hope this helps.
      Rose replied on

  15. Does it come with the Battery charger? If not, do you know where can I buy it?
    Fay asked on
    1. Yes, it is sold with the camera. It' a small unit a bit like a three pin (13amp) plug. You plug it into a mains socket and connect with the same lead that allows you to connect to a computer. The lead comes with the camera too.
You should not have to buy them separately.
      Malcolm replied on

  16. Hi does this camera have a smile detection so when using for self portrait it takes the photo when you smile, and is there much of a delay.
    DARREN asked on
    1. Yes it has smile detection, I have never used it but have just tested it and there wasn't much of a delay, it did work however this mat or may not have been a reliable example?.
I hope this is of help.
      Malcolm replied on

  17. What is the video quality like ?
    Frances asked on
    1. As good as other cameras I have used.
      Roy replied on

  18. My question is... Does this camera have a black and white and sepia mode? Or any other colour modes.
    Rosie asked on
    1. It does indeed,enjoy
      Leon replied on

  19. I am not a technical person at all, i just want to know if you can take videos and upload them to a laptop, thanks xox
    Hozzi asked on
    1. yes...thnx..
