Good points:: Size and weight, powerful but needs to go to 2GB mmory
Bad points:: 32 bit windows and have not been able to set it to hibernate only sleep which drains the battery

Good points:: Lightweight, choice of colours, easy to use, nice little netbook, ideal for portable computer use, discreet and durable.
Bad points:: Don't like Norton. Netbook can be a bit slow at times but I guess thats to be expected.

  The coments about the Ads was from someone else I think. Not sure if the reference was to the Microsoft Office starter version that does come with some Microsoft ads because it is free unless you wish to upgrade to the full office 2010 suite.
  
  The choice is endless I think with every manufacturer having a bunch of netbooks. Depends on what the use is and the budget. I chose this for the features and price based on light and infrequent use. The other brands I considered were Acer and Toshiba.

1. I think so. There are a few cheaper ones available but the performance on this dual core one is slow compared to conventional laptops so not sure about performance on the single core ones. This one has an USB charging port as well that allows sleep charge of mobile phones etc. (at the cost of the battery life) but useful when the phone dead and you are on a train! There are other brands that I considered but the price difference did not justify it as I wanted this for light infrequent use.

1. I have not tried either so can't comment but it does have Wireless N so if your broadband/cable & Router are pretty fast then this netbook should cope.

1. It is quite a small screen. Very portable but you need to weigh that against the number of hours you will be working on it. I found it a strain to work for a long time compared to a 15 inch laptop. I use it as an additional laptop for travel and perhaps browsing from the sofa!

  There are a few colours to choose from. Worth keeping in mind that the colour you see on the web may not be the exact shade. I bought a red one and it is actually more maroon than the bright red that you see on many websites. So maybe worth a trip to a retail shop to see the colour before you buy.
  
  It does come with an Office 201o starter version which includes Word and Excel and is supposed to be a fully functional cut down version of the full Office Suite. So if you eed it for basic word processing and spreadsheets and do not need Powerpoint, then this may weel be sufficient. If not, there is always the option of buying the Office version for students which is not very expensive compared to the retail one.

2. Sorry forgot to mention that the free version of Office 2010 does have a pane open on the right side that displays Microsoft advertisements. It does reduce the available working area even further in what is a small screen. Answer may well be the Student edition.

Does this net book have fast broadband (When surfing the web does it react quickly) ?
Will it cope well if you have several different tabs open on the internet at once?
Has it ever let you down on performance levels and if so what was it for? For example: when downloading stuff on it, such as Itunes, did it slow down the net book or reduce it's battery life drastically

  I have not installed iTunes so cannot comment on that - Sorry. It has wireless N so data transfer is pretty quick. The performance is an issue if you regularly multi-task. This issue is mostly at start up and seems to be okay once an application is up and running. It seems to be happy with handling multiple tabs in IE (not tried other browsers) but does take its time to load the browser. I have tried having 5-6 tabs open and seems okay.
  
  Battery does not drop very fast but I have not seen it show the 10 hours they claim. Need to test it further next week.

hello i would like to know will the battery last at lest 7hrs?? i need to use it for internet as i work online and will need 4 or 5 tabs open ill it be ok for that in terms of speed? but most important for me is the battery life needs to be more then 5hrs

1. The battery life is the best one ive had. On power save it lasts nearly 11hrs but generally it lasts around 6/7hrs . Hope that helps :)

1. I have installed Kaspersky that I downloaded. I also use the Norton download versions so did not have a problem. Worth checking if Norton allow a download if you have a disc. Else, might have to copy the files to another PC and transfer through your network or use a USB (external) drive.

1. Yes you can use a external DVD/RW device as this netbook doesn't have a CD Drive. you can get these from any PC store, PC World are stocking ones that are made by Samsung.
