Good points:
picture quality is outstanding currently subscribing to a HD TV package but have noticed that there is very little discernible difference in picture quality between HD and non HD channels especially in dynamic mode.
lots of possibilities as a result of the variety of ports and easy to use source menu.
sound quality excellent in all modes.
I bought this TV after reading many reviews and have not been at all disappointed.
Bad points:
took a while to set up.
only one pair of 3D glasses, would have been happy with 2 pairs but 4 is ideal for the average family. additional glasses expensive.
needed to purchase additional equipment to use internet TV (£50-60.00)
limited samsung apps available , not sure if I can share files with samsung phone and have not managed to connect to my laptop as hard to find the drivers for samsung HDTV.

Good points:
The picture quality is excellent. I found that the TV was very easy to use and the set up very straight forward and not at all complicated. I bought a Samsung Blu-Ray player at the same time as the TV and that just enhances the features of the TV even more. Highly recommended.

Manufacturer's Description

Ultimate reality with Samsung 3D
Theres only one way to experience 3D when youre not in a theatre. And thats the Samsung 3D TV. It offers the ultimate immersive viewing experience by liberating content from the flat confines of the TV and turning it into explosive imagery. The effect is breathtaking life-enriching, ultra-real picture quality that rivals the cinema imported into your own living room. Samsung innovation has even made it possible to convert your favourite 2D movies to 3D. Because a Samsung 3D TV demands your attention, no matter whats on.

More real than reality with 3D HyperReal Engine
Your mind wont believe your eyes. Thats how breathtakingly stunning the picture quality you get with Samsungs 3D HyperReal engine is. Enabled by Super 3C Realisation, the picture is as unrivalled as it is unbelievable. This way, youre never just watching a movie, youre living it. Every moment will ring truer, go deeper, feel stronger, look richer. Hard to believe when youre on your couch.

Connect Share Movie
Theres no excuse anymore for leaving all those great digital pictures and videos in your cameras. All you need with the Samsung HDTV is USB connection cord. Just plug it in then instantly, play, save or delete. It even works for your music collection. So now anytime is showtime.

Ultra Clear Panel
Enhanced Black Expression with Low Haze By optimising the lights phase and increasing the transparency ratio in ultra clear panel, new Samsung full HD TV can reduce reflection of out light and increase contrast.

Full HD 1080P
Anyone can say they have the clearest picture. But only Full HD 1080p has twice the detail and twice the resolution of regular HDTV. It delivers dazzlingly, rich colour and vivid details. And even corrects the errors from standard definition content. It’s definitely not your father’s HD.

Infinite entertainment with Internet@TV.
The new Internet@TV platform provides viewers with a gateway to a multitude of entertainment ranging from Video, Music, Social Networking, News and Games amongst others. Samsungs Internet@TV offers users a diverse range of content to bring something for everyone in the family. Simply connect your new Samsung device to the internet via Ethernet cable or Samsung wireless dongle to access great services such as LOVEFiLM, BBC iPlayer, Twitter, YouTube and many others.

All Share keeps you connected.
Samsung HDTV takes the struggle out of sharing your talent with the world, or at least with your family. Transfer your videos, music and photos from your PC or mobile device. Wirelessly and effortlessly. It even connects with multiple PCs. Who said you need connections to get on TV?

The TV thats a design sensation.
It may come as quite a surprise that all it takes to hang our new TVs are two screws. Especially considering that most wall-mount TVs require closer to nine screws and a small crew to mount them. But what will really surprise you is what you see when you turn your new TV on.

Clear Motion Rate
Action scenes appear smooth, crisp, and clear on Samsung HD TVs. Thats because we know that smooth motion not only depends on Hz, but on the panel, chipset, and backlight technology. All of these components work together to create a jaw-dropping picture on your Samsung HDTV.

4 HDMI
All it takes is one cable to connect your TV to your other audio and video sources. Our HDMI slot allows you to import all kinds of content without compression including pictures and videos from your digital camcorders and multimedia PCs. Now enjoying it all on a wide HD screen couldn’t be easier.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Samsung LE40C750

  1. can it be mounted on the wall and what wall stand/screws are needed
    Dev asked on
    1. IT CAN BE WALL MOUNTED BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT IS REQUIRED
      BILL replied on

  2. The screen size is measured diagonally but what is the measurement of the screen area (not set size) top to bottom.?
    Dave asked on
    1. 50 cm. Hope that helps.
      FRANK replied on

    2. 50cm

  3. Do you have to wear 3D glasses with this tv
    A shopper asked on
    1. To watch in 3D, Blue ray or transmitted . The set can give a representation of 3D on any channel or format . you do need the glasses for these also. Hope this helps you to enjoy a very good set.
      Keith replied on

    2. yes or the image will be blured.
      bill replied on

  4. whats the best settings for 2d & d3 for this 3d tv?
    martin asked on
    1. martin,
the best personal settings for you, is what you are comfortable watching. Personal choice is going to differ from individual to individual. I've tried to set them to cover all types of broadcasts, i.e. Films, Live,
      Soaps,Documentries and so on.
Hope this helps, just play with the controls 'till you find something you like.
Unless you subscribe to Sky 3D, the only 3D you'll be able to watch are DVD's and there are very few of those and they're mostly for kids..

      john replied on

    2. as john says its youre own choice, im still playing around with my own at the moment, so i am not able to give an honest answer, however i do subscribe to sky and must say at present not impressed with 3d program that are being shown, sorry i cant be of help.
      Alan replied on

  5. what is the viewing angle like, do you loose considerable contrast compared to led
    paulq13 asked on
    1. Hi Paulq13. No,it's much the same, the angle is fine,we view at about 60 degrees. A good set so far
      Keith replied on

    2. Sorry I have not viewed an LED TV in my home so all I feel qualified to say is that the LCD screen on this item is one of the best I have seen for contrast and clarity and have no real issues with viewing pictures at normal side angles incurred in a domestic setting by the way the stand allows a fair amount of swivel so its easy to get a good angle for most viewers I have only seen Shrek in 3D and the glasses do cause a flickering in mains operated light sources possibly due to the blanking frequency of the lenses interfering with the 50 Hz mains however its still about the best picture in a 40 inch TV for the price.
      paul replied on

    3. TO GET GOOD 3D YOU NEED TO BE FAIRLY STRAIGHT OTHERWISE NO DIFFERENCE
      BILL replied on

  6. Does this set come with 3D glasses included?
    Andy asked on
    1. Hi Andy,
I bought my T.V from "Currys on Line" at that time they were selling it as a "bundle" which included a Blue Ray 3D DVD player and two pairs of glasses. One pair came with the T.V. and the second pair came by post.
Have a look on line for any deals on the go and don't forget if you use Currys to check for any vouchers they may have. I saved another £60 on top of thier online price which was already cheaper than instore.
Hope this helps and the TV is still brilliant!

  7. Can this play 3d games for the PS3 straight out the box or do i need other equipment such as an adaptor to see games in 3d
    Mike asked on
    1. I don't know, we don't play games, my guess is you would need an adaptor. However set is switchable between 2D and 3D.
      Sorry I'm not more help.
      Keith replied on

    2. AS ABOVE WITH KEITH
      BILL replied on

    3. same reply as above i'm afraid we dont use it for games either and as Keith said it is switchable from 2d to 3d for normal viewing it kind of upscales the 2d using inbuilt software to something approximating true 3d but you still need to use the glasses with it and i dont rate them in a true 3d video (flicker rate interferes with 50hz applications) like a living room lamp etc and gets annoying after a while -sorry
      paul replied on

  8. Can i play 3d games for the PS3 straight out of the box or do i need other equipment such as an adaptor, Thanks
    Mike asked on
    1. I only game that I have played is COD-Black Ops in 3d and as soon as you put the game in the tv recognises it and puts the game into 3d. Excellent shooting zombies in 3d
      Simon replied on

  9. Does this tv hav built in 3d or do you need an extra component
    tee asked on
    1. Yes, all you need is the Samsung 3D glasses. Which can be bought cheaper on E-bay, Model No :- AB 2100. ( they use 3v button batteries. ) The T.V. will change 2D into 3D but it isn't good as the real thing.
Also with 3D T.V. it's not like being at the cinema, it's more of a "depth of field type of picture"
One problem is wearing glasses to watch T.V. unless you wear glasses normally and they just fit over those.

Hope this Helps, and it's a great T.V.

  10. hi iam thinking of buying this tv, but i have virgin media do you have to have sky to watch all the 3d films or can i get them of virgin thanks julie xxx
    julie asked on
    1. No, I have Virgin media as well and you can buy 3D films through the films on demand section, it also has some free 3D content.
      Paul replied on

  11. can you turn it from 3d too 2d as my other half can't watch 3d for to long and having a little one don't really want him wearing glasses all the time thanks
    Chris asked on
    1. Yes you can turn 3d to 2d,I play my playstation in 3d but sometimes when my eyes get tired I'll switch the 3d off take glasses off and play in 3d.I watch most of my tv through sky picture is great and sky has only one 3d channel so far.so the answer to your question would be yes hope this helps.

  12. Hi

do you need an adaptor for WIFI on this TV or is it built in?

    Thanks
    Mikey asked on
    1. Hi
Thank you for your inquiry. The Samsung wireless LAN adapter is sold separately. I have not used it- I have plugged the TV directly into a router box with a CAT5 cable which has the benefit of a higher bandwidth/more reliable connection. Regards
      John replied on

  13. I want to purchase a 3d tv, just abit concerned about the 3d glasses idea.
Do you have to buy mutiple pairs of the 3d glasses that come with the tv or, are you able to use cheaper plastic (cinema version) type (mainly for children) as well
    Wayne asked on
    1. This TV uses "active" 3D glasses. Mine came with one pair only. Active glasses are expensive (cheapest I've seen is £50 a pair) and they have a watch battery in them. You can't use cinema "passive" 3D glasses with this TV :(
      Paul replied on

  14. At the moment it doesnt say anything about glasses does it come with at least 1 pair or not ?
    Kai asked on
    1. it came with one pair only (not very useful) and the glasses take batteries , they are not re-chargeable as like my other friends glasses (not very useful again) and please do not buy from dixons or currys
      donald replied on

  15. Could somebody please give me the measurments of the box due to fitting this tv into a car.
    Dawn asked on
    1. Hi Dawn, The item in question is a 40 inch tv! Are you sure you want to fit this in a car? I think you may be thinking of a different unit, however, if this is the case please come back and I will give you the sizes of this TV. Best wishes , Keith
      Keith replied on

    2. Sorry Dawn thrown away the packaging now so estimates are all I have but as the TV is listed as having Dimensions: 66.5 x 98.7 x( 27.1 cm)-this last dimension being the fully opened cross foot stand-which comes closed up in the bottom of the box I would say the box dimensions are approx 80 x 120 x 20 cms would easily fit in most cars across back seat dont forget to secure it with the seat belts- PC World do delivery anyway if you are short on space good luck .pl
      paul replied on

    3. Hi Dawn get Dixons retail del it for you can can say when you want it
      Thanks Mark
      mark replied on

  16. As I do not have HD yet what is the SD picture like and do I need HD to receive 3D
    Bryan asked on
    1. The SD picture is fine with plenty of adjustment for your own viewing tastes. However the HD is better and as more channels are now transmitting in HD so I don't think it wise to go down the SD route. To recieve a 3D picture you'll need a T.V. capable of decoding the 3D signal. I think at the moment only "Sky" transmit in 3D
and it's mainly sports programs. Also 3D DVD's are not in great abundance and most of them are animations.

      Hope this helps.

      JB.
