Good points:: Very easy to use menu system. My wife has picked up most functions without ever looking at the manual and she is no technofile! A doddle to record onto HDD or DVD. Plays DivX / MP3 / Photo files straight from a USB card, or you can copy them across to the hard drive. A good addition for anyone who already has an integrated digital TV.
Bad points:: Relative slow EPG. Whilst there is a picture in picture function in the EPG when you scroll through the listed programmes it changes the channel being watched! Thus you cannot browse to see what is on another channel without loosing the one you are watching. Overall I find this this is a minor annoyance. As with a VCR and other PVR's, if you use the timer recording you have to turn the box off before the start. Idealy you should be able to leave it on and it auto switch over etc.

Good points:: This combi DVD/HDD recorder with Freeview, and HDMI upscaling does everything you could ask at a very good price.
Bad points:: The main problems are the layout of the remote and the system interface. Both seem to have received little planning and make general operation somewhat cumbersome. Though full of features and it does do what it says on the box, you will need some patience....

Good points:: 1. Being able to watch a programme from the beginning which is still in the process of being recorded.
2. Being able to watch a separate programme already recorded whilst recording a new programme at the same time.
3. Simple to set up a recording schedule using the on-screen programme guide.
Bad points:: 1. The operating manual is not the easiest to read, understand and make sense of.
2. Beginning and/or end of recorded programmes are quite often clipped by a minute or so.
3. Only twelve programmes at a time can be preset for recording - could do with more especially when on holiday.
4. When watching a previously recorded programme whilst recording another preset timer programme, when the recording comes to the end the playback of the programme being watched is also stopped. This requires restarting the playback of the programme to be watched from the beginning and spooling through to find the point where programme was interrupted. This is particularly irritating when it involves a long recording such as a film, etc.
5. In the list of recorded programmes only the channel, dates and times are shown - automatically adding the programme names (which are shown in the programme Guide information) to this list would be more useful when searching through a long list of recordings.
