- Good points:
- OK for straightforward black print
- Bad points:
- Connection to Mac kept cutting out, despite the printer being "PC and Mac compatible. Colour printing quality was dreadful. Patchy, inconsistent and kept depositing print debris on the reverse side of the document. As we bought the printer to produce some colour images on laser compatible card, it was next to useless.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Samsung CLP-325W

I am thinking of purchasing one of these printers, but cannot get confirmation from product details if has a copy facillity. I don't require the scan or fax, just the print and copy, also, as a user are you satisfied and would you recommend the product
-
no scanner element therefore no direct copy facility. If it had a scanning facility they would be mad not to use it as an all in one machine but it does not.
Superb reasonable speed colour an B&W prints and installation on wireless or wire is very simple and straightforward. Access to cartridges very straightforward on front.
Good value and thoroughly recommended for low or medium throughput level.

Am thinking of buying this for our office. I assume there are 2 cartridges for this, one colour and one black. Do you know if ,when one runs out, does the other still work or does it stop all printing until empty cartridge is replaced ?
-
no - five - one for used toner and 1 black and then three colours C,Y and M. Have not had any run out yet so cannot answer second question but would guess runs on with one colour or black giving poor result. You can usually buy time on the nearly out cartridge by a careful shake to redistribute what little powder is left.

Can this printer do borderless printing?
-
sorry - not quite but very nearly
-
Emma,
As far as I am aware, the answer is "no", although some vendor sites (Tesco, Sainsbury, etc.) state that it has.
I have just tried to set the margins to zero (with MS Word) and get the usual message about exceeding margins.
According to MS Word, the minimum margins vary between 0.42 cm and 0.44 cm. According to the User Guide, the minimum setting is 0.64 cm (0.25 in).
I hope this answers your question.

Hi Does this printer print up to 300gsm.
Thanks-
Hi Kerri-Ann, I haven't tried to print on any heavier than normal paper yet, so unfortunately I am not the best one to answer your question. Sorry about that
-
-
would like to know if this printer woul take card of upto 300gsm as i am a card maker thinking of purchaseing this product
-
sorry but I dont have a clue
-
I don't know about 300 gsm, but I have used 200 gsm card with no problem. The specs might tell you more.

-
Does it do Duplex (double sided) printing? I can't find that information on the PC World site for this printer, although it does tell you for other printers.
-
Hi Allan,
No it doesn't so far as I know
-
Dear Allan
It can print
Single page per side
Multiple pages per side
Poster printing
Booklet printing
On double sided printing it can be set to none, long edge and short edge. But only on manual.
These settings are in the properties section when selecting printing.
You can also download a free app from Samsung for IPad to do wireless printing.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Anthony

can you connect to computer without wireless?
-
Simple - Yes - USB. There is also a simpler version that is cheaper and only connects by cable.
-
Nothing to add to Stephen's answer; he is correct.

How much are the replacement cartridges have been stung befor where these cost more than the machine
-
Tesco black £25 each
Colours eBay price very competitive.
I've been using this printer for a while now on the original cartridges and am suprised to see the cartridges more than half full.
I hope this helps.
Regards
-
The Colour cartridges (of which there are 3) are £40 each and will do 1000 pages, the Black one is about £42 and will do 1500 pages.
So in total you're looking at about £120 for all 4 cartridges which isn't quite the price of the printer.
Also having enquired with Cartridge World about refills they were hoping to have some available at the beginning of next year. -
Various available in the £30 - £38 range. There do not seem to be significantly cheaper ones around yet.
-
I get mine [Samsung, not "compatibles"] from UK Office Direct: Black £41, Colours £38 each - both prices including VAT.
-
For prices look online- last time I checked a set was around £120 ish... I read somewhere that the black cartridge would print 1500 pages- ours seem to be running out much more quickly... we haven't printed even half this much and the cartridge is half empty...

Hi there does it work from iphone wireless ??
-
don't know - don't have an Iphone, but unless the iphone can load the wirless software for mac or pc I don't think it will.
-
I use my Apple IPad after downloading the free Samsung app.
I have an iPhone but have not Tried to download and try.
I don't see any reason that it won't work, as the iPad app works perfectly.
I hope ths helps.

Am having great difficulty getting the installed wireless connection to work on my Apple MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.6.8 even though I've followed installation instructions accurately. The Printer/Fax pane of my computer's System Preferences shows the printer is either "Off-line" or "Paused". Any suggestions?
-
mine works to a BT Voyager router and thence to a network of 6 computers. I dont know the MAC but presumably it works similarly to a windows PC with XP or 7. I had trouble initially - got it going on USB. a week later I stuck the CD back in and the second option down on the screen was Wireless so I clicked on it - it installed beautifully in seconds, told me to remove the USB cable and has worked happily ever since.
Friend had a similar problem before me but found Samsung support very helpful and solved it.
Once it works it is first class - well worth persevering
Good Luck.
