Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Numatic HVR 200 Henry

  1. I was wondering if it is powerful in removing hair from carpets. Ive got my hair all over the carpet as my hair falls alot. My previous vaccum doesn't reaally help me in cleaning my carpet. Can you plz tell me its power? and how well it has suck dust from beige carpets.

    Many thanks
    Hoda asked on
    1. we are a household with three girls so id say yes it is good at sucking up hair from the carpet as i dont notice any! i think it has a really good quality suction ... not sure about beige carpet though as dont have any!
      mum of two replied on

    2. I work in a small haulage company where there is dirt, loads of dust and grit and Henry seems to get it all up. I also have a Henry at home and I have two golden labrador dogs and I use Henry all the time to get their hairs up no problem. As for sucking dust from beige carpets I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.
      Sue replied on

    3. I live in France and have three cats and there is no problems lifting those from our carpets. As far as I am aware the motor has remained the same for over twenty years and has always delivered very good power. I now have three Numatic vacs and the two oldest have given me excellent service over those years on a variety of difficult cleaning problems.
      Richard replied on

    4. I just love my Henry, two other members of my family
have bought one and we all think than our Henry's are the best thing since sliced bread
      elizabeth replied on

  2. is there a bag less henry
    wendy asked on
    1. No there isnt a bagless version out YET!! i would highly recommend thi shoover though. You can always empty the bag in henry and stick back in
      susie replied on

    2. Wendy am not sure I think there is however you can use the normal model with or without a bag and just empty it however obviously it's just a little dusty when you do. You dont have to use the bags.
      john replied on

  3. I have wooden floors throughout my house, how would henry perform
    ann asked on
    1. Hello
I have tiles and wood downstairs and he cleans them very well. He is also great at getting the muck from under the sofa and down the side of the chairs. All in all he does a great job all over the house. I use him on the lino in the bathroom as well. I have a very hairy large dog and even with out the turbo brush he cleans the hair off the carpet with his full power setting. Cat litter is also no problem. I have a couple of cloth bags from EBAY that I can wash and reuse-worth it if you use him a lot.
He performs better than the Dyson I used to have. He does fall over if you yank him to hard but just keeps on sucking even if not upright.
      Hope this helps
      Janet
      Janet replied on

  4. Thinking of buying a Henry, but would like to know if the hose is long enough to clean the stairs flight of 14.
    Rob asked on
    1. Our stairs are 11 steps, the hose and attachment pipe will reach to the 10th stair only, but as the cleaner is fairly light and easy to handle it is no trouble to carry it up the stairs to do the last step(s), I have found it to be as good a cleaner as any I have used.....hope this helps
      Donald replied on

    2. This is difficult to answer as we live in a bungalow. The hose measures 8 ft 6 ins so depending on the angle of the stairs it may reach, but this is purely a guess. Sorry we can't be of more help.
      Tom replied on

  5. Please can any one tell me what is the difference between the henry and the hetty - thanks
    Jennifer asked on
    1. I don't think that there is a difference, apart from the Henry comes complete with tools and accessories and the Hetty doesn't. But I'm not 100% sure.
      Barbara replied on

  6. I need to use a vacuum system in my small workshop to provide suction for a cabinet that contains dust as part of a cleaning process . . . Would you rate this vacuum cleaner as being quiet enough on the low setting, to use for prolonged periods? . . . Many thanks for your time.
    Anthony asked on
    1. its quieter than our previous hoover and I would recommend it, its no frills but does the job very well and the cable is so long we can do our entire stairs without unplugging which we had to do before.

I wouldnt say it is extremely quiet but quieter than others we have had and robust too.

Also it takes ages until you have to replace the bag, we have had it several months and used it twice a week before we had to replace the bag, bags cost about £4 for a pack of five bags.
      Helen replied on

  7. How powerful is the Henry?
    Debbie asked on
    1. Hi Debbie - I have used my Henry on low power ever since I first bought it and it scoops up all kinds of things on that power level very easily. I am exceptionally happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone. The best vacuum cleaner I have ever used.
      John replied on

  8. A friend tells me that the plastic bodied Henry isn't as good as the original metal bodied Henry. Is this the case and which of the many models is the most solid with best suction you would recommend?
    Janet asked on
    1. I disagree - the plastic bodied Henry is just as good. I have only ever used Henry and I have never had a problem with the wear and tear.
      Yvonne replied on

  9. WILL A HENRY GET THE DIRT OUT OF MY SHAGPILE RUG
    CAROL asked on
    1. I'm sorry, I have no experience of a shag pile rug. It has excellent suction and I only use on normal (level 1) rather than level 2 which is stronger suction. Perhaps using the narrow attachment think, close-up, it might do the job for you.
      Kay replied on

  10. I have had a series of Dyson machines (three in all), first one just died of old age, second as a disastrous "Friday afternoon" machine and the third, which I would not have purchased as I vowed never to purchase Dyson again following number 2, has a motor replaced at fours years old and has just gone again (just our of warranty!). Will have to purchase a machine tomorrow (Monday) as can't live without a vacuum cleaner (two dogs and family etc). I'm very, very tempted to buy a Henry as the reviews are excellent but am concerned about the performance, one thing you can't knock Dyson for is the way they perform, when they're working of course. Has anyone defected from the Dyson brand and if so have you regretted it? How does Henry compare? Thanks
    Sarah asked on
    1. Henry is definitely 100% more durable and more rugged and has never let me down since I got the first one in 2002. Cheers
      Emmanuel replied on

    2. Hi I have had 4 Dyson hoovers over the years and henry just sucks them up. Far more power and cleaning ability also with having pets i cannot fault these vacums
      Brian replied on

  11. does the henry come with bags included?
    if yes how many?
    hope asked on
    1. yes it comes with three.
      wendy replied on

  12. I am buying Henry for the 1st time, can anyone tell me if it is heavy to to lift up and down the stairs ?
    Thank you
    Julie
    Julie asked on
    1. No, not heavy, just a bit awkward with all the bits
      Olwyn replied on

    2. It is heavy for us but then Iam 78 and my wife is 77
      trevor replied on

    3. it is awkward but its the best hoover I have ever had
      mandy replied on

    4. Happily I don't have to do it, but my cleaner is so pleased with it (compared to the Dyson I had). It is a little heavy but worth it for the performance
      William replied on

  13. how many parts does the henry come with.
    maria asked on
    1. HENRY COMES COMPLETE WITH TEN PARTS NOT INCLUDING TWO DUST BAGS.
      ERNY replied on

  14. Whats the difference between numatic henry 200 and numatic hhr 220a come to that whats the difference between them all apart from the colours. I've look at all the specifications got a bit confused but there does'nt seem to be anything that stands out except that they are very good and reliable
    kathleen asked on
    1. I wanted to see what the difference between the hendry and hetty so I opened both pages on my computer and the only main things I would find where silly things like the cable being longer but nothing changes regarding the performance of the Hoover.
      Lady Leanne replied on

    2. l think henry & hetty are the same, james has slightly lower power, & charles & george are wet/dry cleaners. Some seem to have different brushes for dog
hair etc, but all are brilliant cleaners. Hope this helps.
      Caz replied on

  15. HI THERE
I NEED A GOOD HOOVER AND THINKING OF PURCHESING A HENRY
    iS IT ANY GOOD?
    JACQUI asked on
    1. In the past I have had Dysons, This Henry is better, I brought it as I have had builders in for the last 4months! They used it for all manner of jobs! it's brilliant I cant rate it highly enough, and what wonderful value, Hope this helps, you wont be dissapointed.
      Jilly replied on

  16. I am thinking of buying a Henry but I'm not sure it will fit in the floor space in my cupboard(we currently have quite streamlined Miele that fits in nicely. None of the info I can find tells me how wide the Henry is at the base (I suppose I mean the diameter!). Can anyone help me with this please?
    sharon asked on
    1. henry is 13 inchs (330mm) wide and 14 inchs (355mm) tall.
      Andrew replied on

  17. what is the difference between to two wet and dry vacuums cleaners George and Charles, and which one would you say is best. thanks, Anna
    Anna asked on
    1. i am sorry but i have not used either of these. all i know that all the named hoovers appear to work well
      lynne replied on

  18. This may sound stupid, it probably is, but we have just bought a Henry. We are both partially sighted and are having trouble releasing the clip holding the 2 halves of the body together. Can someone please let us know which way it goes without it breaking.
    John asked on
    1. The Henry we have has two clips, one either side of the body, and you just pull those out - there is only one way they can go - and the top half then lifts off.
I do not know if this is different on later models.
      Hope this may help.
