Wifi speed especially at 5GHz
Gig Ethernet ports

None yet. My only concern is whether it will start to become unreliable after 18 months like my last 2 netgear products.
Admin web interface is getting very tired. Could do with a revamp.
Wifi range seems a little shorter than my old DGN2000 on 2.4GHz but still works throughout the house.

- Good points:
- Great product - being a household with several items all using wireless connection at the same time, it has solved the problem of 'freezing' that we had with our old router. Worth every penny!
- Bad points:
- None as yet.

Setup goes ok till it tries to link to ISP provider then it just will not connect. My 5 year old Netwgear works fine to same ISP. All settings are correct. I have replaced the router once and still the same problem. Netgear suggested I go for a different model. ps - I am using an ADSL line....Help!
-
This isn't an ADSL router. You can either connect this to another box which does have an adsl modem in it (which is what I do) or replace this with a router that does it all in one though I haven't seen one I liked and I also want BTInfinity soon which this will also work with.

does it drop out when using multiple computers and consoles?
-
No not at all, we can 3 laptops, 1 desktop and a PS3 and they all work perfectly together. Had major problems with old router which were resolved immediately on installation :-)
-
-
Is this good for gaming?
-
Yes my son has the PS3 and is always online - there have been no problems at all :-)

-
I have talk talk adsl broadband ,Will this going to work?
-
Sorry I don't know - I use Virgin Media cable router.
-

Sorry to bother you.
I currently have the Netgear Wireless G Router WGR614 and im having alot of connection problems on 2 ps3's which are upstairs (router is downstairs). Everytime I try to play online I just get constant lag and seem to be a least a second behind everyone I play. Will this router give me a better connection to upstairs than the one I have now? The PS3's are both approx 10-12 feet away if it helps to know. I'm starting to think it's my router thats the problem as it just isnt capable of providing a decent signal to the distance of the games consoles.
I personally have no idea what to get or what the problem is why I lag and no one else does. But i also dont know whether routers vary from how powerful the signals are ( I mean can this router be picked up further away than others can? I have no idea).
Any response i get back will be greatly appreciated as I'm getting really frustrated that the problem I have seems to be getting worse.
I'm with Virgin Media for my broadband and have just doubled my speed to 20mb, but its made no difference whatsoever :(
-
The ps3 doesn't support 5GHz wifi so I don't expect it will make much difference. Using 5Ghz I get a ping of about 25ms to speedtest.net and more like 90 on the 2.4GHz band. You might be better off buying some homeplugs to create a wired connection.

We have a large house and currently have problems with the range of our router, which is a belkin N1 and my sons xbox 360 does not work we although it is quite near the router, does any one think this netgear router will solve our problems, many thanks.
-
How close is the Xbox? Are there any walls in the way? Floors?

Hi. Ive got the so called virgin super hub. Wireless is always dropping out. Will this work with this router.
-
Yeah, though you might need to turn off dhcp on this like I did, if the superhub does that job.

-
i have 4 laptops , 2 PCs , 3 PS3, and phones on wireles but ive got problem with speed conection , ive got just basic router from bt, im looking 4 better router , its good that one ? need help , thnx
-
Yes but it's not an adsl router so you need to hook it up to an adsl router (like your existing BT one) or dedicated modem.
-
-
I have a Netgear-G router which works very well but doesn't give me reception all over the house. (Not a mansion). Tried the BelkinN600 DB but that appears to be incompatible with my XP system. Will ths router enable me to receive a signal all over the house? None of the routers seem to inform about range, and that's very important.
-
Not seen your house but I don't see a big improvement in range with this versus my old DG834G - performance is much better though.
