Is outlook included in this package
-
I think so.. I prefer the 2007 version. Tool bars too ambitious and at times confusing Difficult to come to grip with the new lay out. A manuel would have been useful
-
-
can i add this to a computer that has no windows software at present ie no xp vista etc
-
I installed the product on to a laptop that already had a Windows 7 operating system.
-
My computer had windows7; and I would have thought a microsoft programme would have needed a MS operating system. However, the instructions for it should tell you what the requirements are.
-
-
Can the MS Home and Student 3 user CD version be installed on 1 desktop and laptop at one address and 1 pc at another address. My reason for asking is that my grandaughter spends some time with us and uses a desktop pc here, she doesn't like to travel with her laptop in case of theft or loss.
-
If I understand it aright - the answer is yes. I believe the on-line version is able to be installed on up to three computers - and the disk version too: subject to fair use under the copyright terms, which, for my part, I try to respect fully. And my understanding of your query is that it would be the same purchaser who was using the system anyway.
-
-
I have a desktop and a laptop and am currently using microsoft works, and run both my computers on Vista. Would Microsoft Office 2010 go on my PC's OK, as around £100 is a lot to spend if it's not any better than what I have.
-
microsoft office 2010 is expensive and the tool bares complicated to use. I prefer the previons version
-
Sorry for the late reply, have been away! Personally I would go for an earlier edition of Office although 2010 can be put on both of your computers legallly! I still have not got used to the new Office and regret buying it.
-
-
I am currently using this on 60 day free trial - it amazing! I will going to buy a full version just confused is key code included or I will need to buy it separately?
-
you will buy the "Key code" which will enable you to continue using/convert the trial into full version
Hope that helps -
Hi - you won't regret buying it! - Key code comes with the software (on the packaging / easy to find) installing the upgrade is also quite simple.
-
-
Will I be able to install this in the future on another computer when, for example, I replace my current one? Or, once it's installed, is it locked to a specific PC?
For example, as long as you weren't using it on more than one PC at a time, older versions of Office could be re-installed on new computers.-
Once its on, its on!
When you load your programme onto a computer, the disc records the ID of the computer loaded; and it only allows three different computer IDs.

-
According to the product spec this software package does not include Outlook. Can anyone confirm whether it is included or not - and if not, then what software do you use for managing emails/diary etc?
-
there is no outlook with this software ,i use my isp provider for my e mails ( virgin Media )
hope this helps
Bryan -
No: Outlook is not included – but most people already have this – and the calendar, from their previous ‘Works’ programme – and, if I understand it aright, one simply installs the new Office 2010 on top of it, so to speak – and continues using the old programmes as needed. Or I am sure there are various ‘free’ versions available on the web.
Or, if one is starting from further back,.one installs what one needs of the older version, then installs this one – in that order.
But I am not expert – and you would do well to speak to some-one who is: I did…

-
how long does the licence last will i have to pay to renew it every year
-
Corinne
As far as I know, the licenece lasts forever and the software can be loaded on to 3 PCs. -
Hi, the licence is for life but you are limited to downloading to three systems. Also, PC World price is very competative.

im coming to the end of my 60 day free trial and cannot download the package from the reminders that keep popping up, would i be ok to purchase the disc and upgrade manualy so to speak?
-
I do not think so but I I do not like Microsoft Office 2010. It is very versatile but too commplicated vecause of all the options
-
-
Hi, I was wondering if i used the license three times on three different computers/laptops and mine were to break, losing office on my laptop is there anyway i would be able to get the license back for my laptop?
-
Hello David - I don't think so - am not sure but I think once you've loaded the software on 3 computers it is then defunkt and there must be some protection for Microsoft as they also sell a "professional" version for multiple users priced accordingly.
-
you can load onto other machinr but can only use 3 licences but need to phone product support for code
-
-
Do I need an internet connection to install Microsoft Office??
-
No. But you need to for updates and sorting any problems.
-
As last answer: no internet connection needed. Installation very easy from disc. However, best to keep it set it for automatic internet updating for "inportant" updates (usually security).
-
-
Do i need an internet connection to install Microsoft Office??
-
no justput the cd into your pc
-
Depends whether or not you bought the CD, or the down-load version.
The CD does not require Internet connection - the download version does.

What is the difference between the CD and DVD versions of Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student 3 User?
-
was not aware there was a dvd out but should think it is the same version
-
Sam, sorry I don't really know, but mine is a DVD and it works ok
-
-
Hi, I have a desk top pc with 2007 and 2010 pre installed and 2 laptops with 2007 pre installed, I've used the trial period on all 3, would this be suitable to get to have the full product for 2010 on all 3 computers thanks
-
I am not an expert in software and hard ware, so you relly need to ask Microsoft technicial people on this one.
I have a new PC and a laptop that had different operating systems ie 2007 vistor and windows 7. I have used windows 7 on both operating systems and they work great.
Good luck - microsoft are very friendly operators -
No. The package will only load onto 1 computer.
-
-
i do a lot of card crafting with cd and would like to know if the cd's i have for windows xp will work on this soft wear ,as at the moment i can't get them to work on my pc
-
Chris
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. I don't know what 'card crafting' is, what your CDs are, or what 'this software' is.
My only piece of advice would be to avoid buying MS Office 2010 if you can. It is rubbish.
Sorry I can't be more help. -
Sorry, 'card crafting' is new to me!
MS Office 2010 (home edition) is fine for home use. Using MS Office 2010 (business edition) at work and it is excellent.
-
-
I bought Microsoft Office Home and Student and have tke key card, but I'm having problems downloading the software. I have a Samsung NP S3510 AO1 and Windows 7. Any idea what i should do?
-
If you've got a 60 day- trial Microsoft Office 2010 , try entering the producy key code when it says activation required & you should get code accepted message.
-
-
Does Word 2010 allow me to format a document into
a) two pages per sheet (portrait or landscape)
b) booklet (ie what you see on screen is NOT what you get!) (Sorts front, back, and inner pages efficiently)
I currently use 2003 and this is a facility that I value-
It certainly does.
-
It does what you are asking for. You need to go to page layout and all the options are there. For more information click the help sign in the top right corner. It will take you to online help - just type booklet in the search box and the answers are there.

Supposing you really hate 2010....
How easy is it to revert?
I had a nasty experience with a trial version of 2007.....-
Do you mean to revert back to another version after you have installed it, if so I dont know, but if you mean do I prefer the older version then yes I do but 2010 is also good. I hope this helps.
-
Not sure about this. I think it would be possible as all the files you create give you the option to save in a 2007 compatible format. Don't think you'll want to revert tho as it's improved version of earlier software
-
I think you would just remove the newer version and re-install the older one, but the newer the better, surely!?!
-
-
in a bullet-form, what exactly does this product key card do? am not a computer geek but i would like to be so why should i buy it?
-
if your computer has the trial version of the product the key will validate the product giving you the full version.
-
* gives you the full version by typing in the key card number
* allows you to re-download the full version if your computer has crashed
-
-
I have a preinstalled trial version of office home and student 2007. Is this offer a full version? Do I have to have a preinstallation of home and student 2010? Can I just simply install this version and "overwright" the 2007 trial?
Thank you very much for your help-
I would assume that when you install your new 2010 version it will automatically remove/over-write the 2007 version. Or you could theoretically un-install the 2007 version yourself (Add and Remove Programs), then proceed to install the new 2010 version.
-
-
The license says 1 PC but a lot of you are saying 3 PCs. So which is correct?
-
Hi Louise
The version I purchased Office Home and Student 2010, is x 3 PCs Family pack. Licensed or installation on up to 3pcs. Hope this helps.
Ann -
If you go into the shop it was one pc but tesco had a offer for the same price of office 2010 on the Internet of the three version and that was what was sent to me for the same price.
It was a very good deal at the same price :-)
-
-
Will i be able to install this on my computer which is Windows 2003?
Thank You-
I don't see why not.
-
I am not sure what you mean by Windows 2003? There are Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows7 as the operating systems. Not sure if there is Windows 2003...

Will the home and student format work with Dragon naturally speaking? And if so, does it contain automatic punctuation? Or would I be better to purchase home and business format. Bearing in mind that I would not need the last program parts such as Outlook , but would need word and publisher if possible. Yours with anticipation
-
I am not sure
-
Hi Peter
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with nor use 'Dragon'so cannot answer your question, It does an automatic spell check and suggests "better grammer", but, as far as I'm aware it does not punctuate automatically .... Derek -
sorry no experience of dragon but I find Outlook invaluable
-

I haven't bought a laptop for quite a few years so just wondered whether they come with microsoft word already on them? Is this Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student 3 like an upgrade on what's already on there or is a must have package?
-
You will need to check this on purchase. I am really happy with M O home 2010. Much better than my older version.
-
Very unlikely you will find MS Office (includes Word) as part of your package. Best way is to buy your computer then buy the teacher/student version of Office. It allows licensed download to a limited number of computers (2 or 3). Mine cost me £70 for two computers and I split the cost with someone else who also needed Office.
-
-
can this version print labels and envelopes ?
-
Yes.
Open Word - new document.
Click 'Mailings' at the top of the ribbon - then 'Envelopes' at the left hand end of that.
You choose which size etc - and can add your return address as a default.
Add the addressee's address either by typing it in - or highlighting it on whatever list you keep.
You may have to experiment a little to get the hang of exactly how to put the envelope in your printer - but I find it works admirably well. -
yes same as above answer

I have just brought a laptop and need to get the the 3 user version. But as i need to load it onto a laptop and a notebook i don't know if this can be done, as the note book can not take the CD, so dose it come with a key code as well so this can be done ?
-
Well. I used it for my netbook and laptop but because the netbook don't take CD, I had to download from the internet. There is a sticker on the CD cover and it tells you the url where you have to go to in order to download the microsoft office. There is a key code thing within the box. I already had downloaded micro soft trial version and I put the key code in it and it wouldn't work. So I went on the url and downloaded it then. Then it worked :) Hope that helps. Reply back if there is any more problem.
-
Mine came with a Product Code written down as well as the CD, both of which were a great help. I hope this answers your question
-
My response is the same as Margaret's
-
-
is office 2010 easy to set up on a mac pc
-
The version I purchased is for Windows rather that Mac; however I have heard from friends that it is straightforward though can take a while if you've got 2007 or earlier on the machine which it needs to replace whilst maintaining all the links to folders/documents, etc
-
-
can I install this on to a netbook
-
As far as I am aware you should be able to load this on a netbook
-
-
how long does this last for is it for 1 year on each pc
-
Hello Allina. There is no time limit for the Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. It is just not supposed to be used for commercial use. It can be installed on up to 3 computers in the same household. I would always buy this version rather than the Product Key version, which can cost nearly as much, because you have got the programs on cd if you need to reload your computer and even if you only have one computer it can be used again later if you or members of your family buy another computer or two in the future. It is very good value compared with the commercial version. I hope this answer is helpful to you. Andrew

Hi
Ive just bought a new laptop not sure if i need a key or full program its got microsoft office starter on and has the full office 2010 on the menu do i need key or full program.-
If your new laptop had a trial starter package already installed you would be able to buy the licence key,as it will automaticallydownload to the programs.I myself bought the full program because it came with 3 licences not sure about the key.
-
-
hey does the cd come with it and does the installation book come with it??? please tell me
-
There is 1 cd which downloads all 3 programmes. I am useless with computers and i managed it quite easily. All the instructions you need to download it come up on your computer.
-
All the packages you will need is on the one cd. Just load the cd in and it will load all the microsoft office packages you will need. I have read that it interferes with the previous windows you may already have installed so back it up. Word, Powerpoint, One Note and Excel will be on the cd.
-
-
I have installed with my new windows 7 computer Microsoft Word Starter. Is there any advantage by installing Microsoft Office Home and Student ?
-
I think that Word Starter is a basic version of Microsoft Office however I have never used it. We purchased the new Office Home and Business because we were upgrading from an older version that we were using and most of our dealings with suppliers/customers could not be done with the older version.
-
-
Is there any difference between Office and Student and Word Starter
-
Yes, Word Starter is a limited version. You need to upgrade to get all the facilities.
-
-
How do you install and is it a free trial (this product)?
-
Easy to install, load the disc and just follow the instructions and I am no computer boff. Not sure about the free trial aspect. From experience most new computers come with a trial period of the full blown Office suite. But when your trial period runs out you are invited to choose from a number of options.
-
Very easy to install load the disc and follow instructions and just take your time over everything you do. My computor came with Windows installed. When the trial period ran out,I then purchased a Windows to suit my rquirements
-
-
I have a toshiba laptop and my daugher has a Mac. I know i can instal the programme on mine but can I install Microsoft Office home and student on a Mac??
-
Hello - you will need to buy the Mac version of Microsoft Office home & student as the Mac & pc 's /laptops have different operating systems.
-
-
Does this package include the visual basic editor for Excel?
-
No thats in the business edition. Or download from microsoft.
-
Don't know - but it contains Excel 2010 and that appears to be it.
-
Not that I'm aware of. Sorry.
-
-
Does this product have the different fonts ie italic?I have my own wedding invitaions bussiness and it would save time writing them via hand.
-
Hi Gina, the programmes in this suite have a range of fonts. Publisher is the Desktop Publishing programme which will help you produce your invitation cards.
-
well if I was you I would look at a more dedicated program, I use a program called Serif PagePlus. This is what is know as a Desk Top Publishing program. But it is layout is simple to use, and the manual give you the information that you need. And this version of Office does not come with Pubilsher as standard.
