I have been using the TV for last month and half and I am still amazed by the picture quality. Even SD picture looks good, but when you watch HD it is simply awesome. 3D quality is surprisingly good, even though there is not much content out there. Sound is ok, but I have a home theatre system which goes well with this TV.
While watching blurays on my PS3 the colours/blacks are stunning. I think I will have to start buying more blurays over next few months.

The screen is reflective an this is something to keep in mind if you are planning to buy this TV. Also there is some haloing if you watch from angles greater than 30 degrees.
This is my second set as the first set stopped working within a week (no picture), which was replace without any questions by the retailer.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the LG 47LX9900
-
do you think it is worth paying extra for this tv rather than the LG47LX6900?
-
If I remember correctly, the lg47lx6900 is very similiar in specification, but does not have the slim-line border as on 9900. The 9900 is almost bordless in design (with just a glass panel) were else the 6900 has a traditional chunky frame. So its really down to whether you want to pay the extra £300 or so, for a much more modern/sharper design. I definately went for the design on 9900 since it is very unique, and does not make the LCD look outdated. But the choice is yours! Hope that answers you question.
-
Also agreed with what Irfan said design wise but also it has 400hz as opposed to the 6900 having 200hz and that is noticeable, much clearer picture. Plus if you like your gadgets, the magic motion remote is ace!
-
Yes, definitely, worth having the most upto date model you can afford. Worth trawling the net for best price, i found dixons the cheapest by far.

-
thanks for your help. now that ive finally decided to buy the LG47LX9900 i cant seem to find it anywhere in stock at a reasonable price, Amazon seems to be the cheapest in stock at the moment at £1888 but ive seem it as low as £1300 but not in stock! does any know if they are bringing out a new model soon and thats the reason no one seems to have it in stock?
-
i really dont know but when i was buying i really struggled to find any lg infinia ,but found dixons ...on line...to be the cheapest...and excellent service...all the best.
-
I bought mine from Dixons but I had to wait 5 weeks for it, but it is worth waiting for, it is a fantastic tv. we have now purchased at half price the LG saround sound package and in my opinion you can't get better
