- Good points:
- I like the design, the ease for downloading apps, and the fact that this phone was free with my account
- Bad points:
- The battery lasts less than a day when the phone is used a lot - this seems to be common with all of my friends' HTC phones too. It also takes a while to get used to the completely different symbols

- Good points:

Software runs very slowly and apps sometimes do not work properly due to the phones small processing power.
The signal boost function kept dropping out during calls.

- Good points:

- Bad points:
- the screan slide doesnt work very often, so you can not answer the phone, ( this is from new ) , when opening texts, it tends to open ones you are not clicking on, so takes 3 or 4 attempts to open them, switiching off mode is very easy, switcheing on tho seems to take for ages, so you can not use the phone in a hurry, also sometimes sends texts twice, all in all touch screan is rubbish, slow & I would not recommend anyone getting an HTC if this wis what they are like

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the HTC Wildfire
-
what is the camera on this phone? and also how many mega pixels has it got?
-
it is a 5 megapixel camera with flash. the images on screen dont look too great but when downloaded to pc they are actually not bad. also records video
-
-
Is the screen really that bad and whats it like for texting. Button size etc. Im using a ipod touch for this and making mistakes left right and centre. Thanks matt
-
having used the phone for a while now i can say the scren i pretty good. the texting is also really quick as it predicts the words. i can now text so much quicker than my old phone. i would never go back from a touchscreen now.
-
-
Can the wildfire access an internet connection without Wi Fi ?.
-
yes. it is also quite quick. i am on 3 and never struggle to get an internet connection when i'm not at home
-
-
what is in the box
-
you get the phone, sim cards and charger which also doubles as a usb to attatch it to th computer. also comes with a leather case and a pair of cheap headphones.
-
-
Is the short battery life a big problem and are there only a few apps for Android?
-
battery life is ok. i just get into the habit of charging it every night and it easily lasts all day. if u dont use the apps it lasts a couple of days. there are lots of apps but not all of them work with this phone i think its because an update is due soon which should help. games are too slow like angry birds is almost unusable. if u want it for games get a faster phone but all my other apps work well. there are lots of apps to choose from but most big companies like dominos pizza for example only do apps for iphones. hope this helps
-
-
does it have a memory card slot? and what is the internal memory? many thanks
-
it takes micro sd cards and comes with a 2gb memory card already in it.
-
-
would you recommend this as the best phone uv had
-
Hi Sana,
I think it probably is, seeing that I have never owned a 'smart phone' preivous to this one - loads a features and loads of free apps and widgets you can download for it. When I first got it, I was so overwhelmed by all the things it could do that I had to double check that it could actually make a phone call :]. The only thing I can think of bad about this phone is battery life, which i'm lucky to get 2 full days out of.
-
-
just bought the phone this afternoon, how do i find where to download free apps and apps store???
Quite impressed with it so far!-
On the main home page, click on the up arrow on the bottom left corner and select market to access the apps store
Dave -
goto the market which can be found in your menu
-
-
How would you insert an sd card also what GB card does it come with
-
If you take the back cover on the left hand side there is a little slot to the bottom left of the battery and it says micro SD put in there, to find out what size just ask in any computer store like pc world etc any more questions please feel free to ask x x
-
-
I'm planning to buy this phone.
Can you tell me
about the battery life ?
ease of use?-
Hiya, my battery lasts about a week if I only phone and text and take the odd photograph, I don't use it for surfing or social networking so I don't know how that affects it's life. I have worked out how to use the features I need without too much fuss, phonebook, camera, ringtone, volume etc - believe me if I can use it pretty much anyone can.
-
battery depends on how much you use it, but i charge mine every other day. Ease of use is great, once you get used to touchscreen and flexibility.
-
Hi satheesh
The battery life on the wildfire is not as good as some but ive found that i can get 2 days easy and still listen to loads of rock/metal albums.
As for ease of use i can only say that i made the change between a nokia n81 and the wildfire and at first i hated the thing but once i learnt how it worked
i would'nt be without it it'll do all i want and some.
I can say that if you buy one you need to get used to it by just messing with it and you find all sorts by getting it wrong i did lol.
-
-
are there any bad things about the htc wildfire phone ?
-
No, There is not any bad about this phone. Its really good item and it is Wi Fi
-
If u want it for games it is too slow . However everything else is great . My friend was telling me all about his new 300 pound blackberry and it couldn't do half what mine does .
-
-
is htc wildfire good and easy to use and how is the battery life iff i wanted to listen to songs and use social network?
-
its really good with a long battery life; and is very good for social networks. a very good bye you cant go wrong if you get one. i hope this helps you out
-
Battery Life - I agree with Lisa's answer that the phone is very good in many ways, but I find the battery lasts two days, maybe a little less, which is fine if you have somewhere to recharge (and that doesn't take long).
Easy to use - If you have never used a HTC phone I promice you it will take a bit of getting use to, it's not that it is hard to use, it's just different.
Have fun :]
-
-
is this phone good on vodafone
-
it is very good
-
Im not sure, im on Tesco mobile and its very good on that
-
-
I'm thinking of buying this phone but what comes in the box? like the USB cable, earphones etc.. thanks :)
-
Everything you need, earphones (but standard type so any you have will fit) the charger is a pretty standard connection, searched through all my USB connectors and now have a charger every where, for the record just got 2.2 firmware upgrade, the phone now rocks, it is a bit slower to power up, but is much quicker and all round excellant, seriously and honestly, it is compact, fast, does the job with its features, but as with all smaller phones and older people with fat fingers difficult to type fast LOL, I truely can't find a fault with, prior to this I had a Samsung Galaxy S (stolen) considering the size I think I have been lucky!
-
THe box has earphones and usb cable which doubles as charging with an adaptor
-
-
Hi all,
This phone looks gorgeous and perfect for what I am looking for. Just a few questions:
- does it come with speaking sat nav like nokia?
- does it open email attachments easily like iphone (boo!!)?
- t9 text? does it make its own words up? is it 'clever' and saves most frequently used words at front of the t9 option?
- can it receive and send large rambling texts in one go and not in seperate messages like i phone?
- does it crash, freeze and reset itself for no good reason?
as you may be able to tell, i currently have a nokia, mainly for free sat nav and its great. but my nokia keeps crashing, freezing and resetting itself for no good reason and its getting worse. my sister has iphone and it looks great, can open emails and attachments in jpg, pdf and word with no probs. brothers blacberry is the same. my nokia is pants at email attachments.
i am anti igadgets and also dont like qwerty on blackberry!
htc wildfire has caught my eye.
oh, and does it sync easily with gmail, calendar and contacts?
would be great to have a better phone than blackberry and iphone. sibling rivalry! ;p
any comments would be much appreciated!
thanks :) x
--
yes to all. thats all i can say one of the best phones on the market i think. ive had no probs with it . just set it up to your specs and you;ll be fine. i hope this helps you out. go out and get one
-
Hello Gen I hope these answers are what your looking for :] :
Sat Nav? - I know that it doesn't come with one out of the box, although saying that there could be a chance that you may be able to purchase and download one from the android marketplace, although don't hold me to that.
Email Attachments? - Having never owned and iPhone (mainly for the same reason as you ^^) nor opened an email attachment from one I couldn't comment. However having opened attachments on the Wildfire I can say that it is extreamly easying - I have viewed PDF's, pictures in various formats and even viewed some of my coursework in microsoft word format.
Does it crash? - Having owned it for a couple of months - no, it hasn't ever given me any issues in this department.
Syncing of Gmail, contacts? - I couldn't believe how easy this was, in fact I think it was an option during the starting setup of the phone, it will even sync contacts from your facebook account (along with their pictures!) depending on if they have put down a phone number or not. Same applies for the calender, with people's birthdays and calender events in Gmail.
This was my first smart phone so I was a little over whelmed with what it could do, which left me wondering why I hadn't got one to begin with!
Hope this helps :]
-
-
Can you use the HTC Wildfire as a modem for a laptop ?
-
don't know never used. but its good item
-
Yes you can however some networks like mine ( I'm on 3 ) won't let you do it . They would rather you buy A dongle instead . To be honest though I have never tried it so you may be able to find a way to do it. Hope this helps .
-
Most mobile phones will allow access as a modem, but this can work out very expensive. Better to look for free wifi access or use a dedicated dongle for the laptop.
-
-
Hi again,
more questions!
what is the standard keyboard? qwerty or t9? if qwerty, is there a t9 available as an original phone option or an app?
some say yes, some say no - as standard, is there speaking sat nav on the phone?
thanks again for any answers :)
gen
-
There is a qwerty keyboard on it, which has predictive text on it, which is really good. If its not turned on, touch MENU, touch SETTINGS, touch LANGUAGE & KEYBOARD, touch TOUCH INPUT, touch PREDICTION.
Ive not found a speaking sat nav on it, unless there is an app for it.
Dave

-
I am thinking about getting this phone but not sure wether getting this or the blackberry 8520 would be a better choice...any help?
-
it depends what you want out ov the phone we have two ov these phones in the family and they cover everything that you want
-
Never owned a Blackberry, would ask you, what do you want it for? if it is dedicated business and you have the servers and contract for email etc, then Blackberry, if it is for you to receive email, facebook, gmail etc, then this is a really good phone
-
-
can it get i tunes , 100,000 radio stations . and 2 mil records , then transfer to my computer , and the (sonos) multi room music system , which requires a remote control at £300 or an i phone to work it , is the h t c on 3 g , that is not in my airear, will it correct my spelling on texting , when you say apps what do you mean . as i presume your want apps is not like mine , and im 74 so am not clued up on all this new gizmo stuff . thanks RON.
-
Hello Ron,
I hope these answers are what you are looking for:
Itunes - ITunes is an Apple product, therefore to my knowledge access to the iTunes market place will require you buying an iPhone/iTouch.
Radio stations - It comes with a built in FM radio, but you are also able to download access to other radio stations from the Android market place on the phone yes.
In regards to your '2 million records, being able to transfer them to your computer and then accessing them from Sonos', all i'm able to say about that is there is a program called Spotify that is avalible to be downloaded from the Android market place, which covers all those needs.
The HTC is on 3G as far as I know and texting is able to be set up in such a way that will allow you to be corrected on spelling.
By 'apps' I mean applications, pieces of software that you can download from the Android marketplace or transfer from your computer. They allow the phone to run certain tasks, some of these cost money, others are free. There are literally thousands of applications with new ones being added all the time, from games to a guitar tuner to ordering your shopping online!
I think I covered everything, please don't hesitate to ask more questions if you need to, i'll be happy to reply as soon as possible :]

If I was on PAYG with no internet access, could I surf the web from a wi-fi hotspot? or will I need to upgrade my PAYG to include web access?
-
You can use WiFi whenever its available . I often use it in hotels and restaurants for example . I do find my 3g internet excellent. though. I am on 3 and it is very rare I do not have the highest speeds available .
-
the HTC has wifi built in and you can connect to any wifi network. I use the wifi when I am at home to surf the net as I have wifi and have used various locations with free wifi also. No need to upgrade.
-
-
Hi i was interested in buying the HTC wildfire. Could you tell me if the google maps are free to use and if they come preinstalled
-
Google maps are free to use depending on your tariff. Mine didnt come preinstalled, but was free from the android market
Dave
-
-
I'm on T Mobile at the moment could I keep my existing number
-
yes no probs
-
Yes, you will need to get a code when you leave T Mobile, and supply it to the new Tarriff, takes 48 hours max
-
-
Does the Angry Birds run better on the 2.2 upgrade or is it still pretty poor for that? I am really keen on getting one but it's the problem getting some app's and getting things like this to work that is putting me off. Please reassure me so I can take the plunge!!!
-
Unfortunately angry birds doesn't run any better on 2.2 it is still too slow and jerky . If u are going to play games then the desire is much better or obviously the iPhone is in a totally different league . But for all other apps such as jogging apps or diet tracker etc speed is not an issue and I never have a problem with them working, I think games struggle due to differences in screen resolution which is not an issue with other apps . The phone suits my needs perfectly but obviously u get what u pay for . If u think u may regret not being able to play games then I would invest in more powerful model. Hope this helps .
-
Yes I agree with rob totaly any fast moving games are
not great havent tried angry birds but some are a bit on the ragged edge as far as the resolution goes. Having said that everything else ive done with my wildfire is exellent wouldnt be without it ,for the price its a good smartphone, love the apps ive downloaded so far loads of fun.
-
-
Can this phone pick up BBC i Player?
-
yes it can,but you have to download Adobe flash player but i don't know if it is compatible with this phone as i have not tried to download it,hope this helps in some way.
-
-
Can I do a straight swap with my existing O2 P&G sim card.
-
Depends, if you buy it on o2 then most. Likely but if on a different network probably not
-
-
is tesco network anygood
-
The signal strength seems to be excellent, I used to be on Orange and was happy with it even though I couldn't get a signal in my local Tesco!!
Now I'm on Tesco Mobile " Touch wood" I have always been able to use the phone wherever I've been and I've never had a call drop. The only bad thing so far is that they haven't tripled my credit yet as they advertise to do, maybe it's something I haven't done I'm not sure but it's left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth if you know what I mean. -
Agree Julie, but I think it is because Tesco triple\double points\credit is quite a complicated process. I rang them was on the phone 25 mins, and at the end still got it wrong, but did get triple points and credit! but dont understand how (to afriad to ask how in case they say it is a mistake and take it back :) )
Tesco network uses 02 and I have no problem with it, I work in the South West, and have a gay phone (iphone) as a work phone on Vodaphone, never get a signal on that, yet Tesco\02 always does. hope this helps, by the way, I do find tesco very friendly on the phone, and always ready to help.
-
-
ok i pick up my phone next week from tesco. its tesco phone to. can i put the tesco chip from my old phone to my new phone as it has all my phone numbers on it
-
Yes I think so
-
-
People are giving different opinons on the battery life sutuation. Does it last only one day? 2 days? or longer?
If you listen to music for around 30 minutes time a day and also use the apps for around the same time, Would you need to re-charge the phone everynight?-
Yep. It depends, I turn on the internet when I want to use it, and turn it off when I'm finished. when I kept the internet on (I think it checks your email every 15 mins), I read the news on the BBC app for half an hour, I texted a few people, had a 15 min phone call, and by 7pm I was out of battery. Not good. Now I have it off it’ll last about a day and a half, so I charge it every night.
-
The battery life will depend on your usage, 4 to 6 hours constant use will use over 60% of battery life gone. But as I have access to a laptop I just connect it to that and keep the battery topped up. I have downloaded a battery check app and monitor the battery that way. lots of apps to check, reduce or save your battery. overall your not using it when asleep so keep it on charge.
-
-
Is the earphone socket a standard 3.5mm jack? Or is it a special fitting for HTC phones. If it is a HTC fitting is their any adapters you can get to covert to 3.5mm jacks?
-
I'm not too sure cos I don't use the earphones much but I think it is the standard fit
-
Hello Neil,
It's your standard 3 1/2 mm jack - nothing special about it :D
-
-
ive been wanting a new phone for ages and all my friends have blackberrys, i was thinking about getting one then i didnt really want one since you have to pay for bbm. any way, is there any thing that makes this phone really cool and any thing that lets it down, many thanks dan.
-
The only thing that lets the phone down is the battery life, its not good. Do what i do and put in on charge when you go to bed. Good points, you can get some grt apps, facebook & twitter are fab. Very easy to use, great alternative for an iphon e.
-
ive had no probs with the battery life a really good phone better then the blackberrys, cant say that anything lets it down its the best phone that ive had so go out and get one m8
-
Battery life is defo a let down, have to charge it up every day. Good apps, does most of the ones the iphone does. Just updated the software and can now use it as a mobile wifi hotspot.
-
-
i have put a lock on ma HTC Wildfire phone and my mate tried to brake into it and now its asking me for my google account but i don't know my email do you know how to find out what it is because i cant get on my phone without it and my mum is angry help me please
-
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GOTO THE MASTER RESET
-
Not sure what your asking, if you are asking what is your google mail account name, it could be your name like joebloggs@googlemail.com, if that is the case go here http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=12382
from a pc or laptop, I hope you sort it out soon, tell your mum technology is hard graft sometimes, she loves you and will forgive you xx
-
-
Is the phone locked to a particular network? Would I have to get it unlocked to use a sim from another network?
-
If you buy it from Tesco, it will be locked to their network. Yes you would have to get it unlocked.
-
-
"Cannot play video"-"Sorry this video cannot be played".
I get this message when attempting to play a YouTube video from all of my subscriptions.
Videos that I have uploaded to "My videos" play OK.
can anyone help please.-
I have the same problem. The only way i got YouTube to work was to use it through the internet not via the app
-
-
Dose this phone locked? can i use it for my 3 sim card ?
-
if you unlock the phone it will work on any network
-
-
Just wondering what the Durability on this phone is like, would things like the occasional drop or knock damage the screen or any other part(s).
Is it vulnerable to water damage e.g, some phone can have water damage from just being in a damp area.
And just generally how long lasting is it ?-
It seems to be quite robust. I don't put it in my pocket with keys or anything that may scratch it and I also haven't dropped it yet . But it hasn't got a single scratch yet . I also use it outside in the rain with no problems. Mines got to last 2 years so I am being a bit extra careful but as long as u aren't careless it show/d be fine.
-
Agree above, have dropeed it, but not problem and screen still as new, will be getting a cover as always worth the the little extra, to keep it like that
-
-
Hello All
My Father Is Buying Me A HTC Wildfire And I Would Like To Know If I Can Use My O2 Sim Card In The Phone If I Brought It On Pay As You Go On Tesco Moblie ??
Thanks-
Very much doubt it, would need to be unlocked then the O2 sim card would work.
-
-
well i was thinking about buying this phone for my birthday :) but people are saying the battery isn't very good :/ how long would it last if im constantly texting and on the internet?x
-
The battery is not the best, you would have to put it on charge every night
-
-
Hi all,
A couple of questions:
How good is MS Word & Excel on the phone? Any probs? Can I sync them with my PC easily?
Can I sync with Outlook Calendar & Contacts? Are there any apps for this?
Thanks-
you need an app for the word stuff which you can get free of the android market. as far as ive gone with sync thats not one of the things i can help with sorry. but over all the phone is really good. not looked back since getting it
-
-
I am thinking about buying a HTC wildfire but the salesman in Tesco,s phone shop told me there is software problems with the phone .
-
Hello Bob,
I can't say I agree with the Tesco salesman and personally I wouldn't just take his word word for it. If you really would like to purchase this phone maybe ask around on some of HTC forums about the software on the wildfire.
Sorry I am unable to offer better advice, but I can't say i've experienced any kind of software problems during my ownership of the phone. :] -
ive had the phone for 5 months now, on the tesco network, not had any problems at all so not a clue what the salesman is talking about, unless he wants you to buy a more expensive phone for his commission
-
-
is the camera good and is it good at taking pictures and is it good at recording videos
-
Yes th camera is good and the recording is good too
-
yes the camera and video are fab
-
-
does it have good bluetooth
-
Yes, haven't used it much but never had any problems .
-
-
do you have to have internet to have apps?
-
You can get then by connecting to your PC\MAC search around the the net there are many forums that will show you how
-
-
do you need internet for apps?
-
yes you do
-
-
Hi,
1. What is the speed like when browsing on the web?
2. Is is possible to load flash websites and play flash videos? Is there a lag in video play?-
The speed when on my wifi is really good. Not on it much otherwise.
Youtube etc videos all play on mine without delay. However, that is on my wifi.
-
-
hi is it realy stylish to use like is it realy shiny white and is the recording sound great and is the music great when you play it on it and does it go realy loud because I would like a phone which would go realy loud and does it have quirty keyboard many thanks megan
-
its not shiny white just plain white. but also dose come in other in clours on diffrent networks. i say its loud but that depends on how high you have it turned up. recording sound is good.
hope this helps
-
-
How good is this phone as a MP3 player? Do I still need an iPod?
-
It works pretty sufficent as an MP3 player however the battery doesnt last for very long distances seeing as I sometimes have to travel 5 hours a day and find that my battery goes down really fast and am charging it everyday. However quality and sound etc is excellent.
-
Hello Mikey,
I'd say depending on how big your music collection is it will work fine as an MP3 player but personally I wouldn't sell or get rid of your current device. :]
-
-
Hey, Just wondering how responsive the Keyboard is? And also how easy is the typing? Can you go to a normal typing like on a regular non-touchscreen phone? And also can you update the Software to the latest version of Andriod?
-
The Keyboard is very responsive, i find it works best in landscape mode. The keyboard is qwerty im afraid, no option for the standard one. and yes, the software is upgradable, ive just done mine
-
-
dose it charge you if your using 3g on pay as you go???
-
Depend on the network . I'm on a 3 contract but I do know on their payg you get 500 mb every time you top up which is plenty .
-
-
does this phone have wi fi because it does not say ,
-
Yes, and very good as well, receiver range is excellant
-
-
Does the HTC Wildfire sync OK with Apple Macs as well as PCs for downloading/uploading music, photos etc?
-
yes
-
-
is this version the a3335 that can work i NZ
-
Hi Tom
Mine was bought in england and its the A3333 so i think the only way to be sure is to turn phone on and look in phone identity in settings,it will have the version no in there.Dont think you can tell externaly.
-
-
Could you use Talkmobile on this phone?
-
if you can get the phone on that network then yeah. you could get it unlocked on the high street for a price which i dont know much about. hope this helps
-

Hi,
I really like the look of this phone but at the moment i'm using the Samsung Tocco and love it, I don't use it for internet or web things just for phoning and texts but would love to get into all this apps stuff, is it worth changing?-
Hello Wendy,
Is it worth changing? It depends, first of all, are you on a contract plan that allows internet useage, because if not prepare to spend alot of money. Personally I don't see what the big fuss is with apps I think its just an excuse for people to be on thier phones more. But why not? The upgrade is worth it just for the change of technology in phones, but I wouldn't recomend this phone purely for the access to mobile applications - i'd research and look around more :] -
You have to use the internet for all of the apps so you would have to use the net. I had the tocco for a while and this one is far more reliable as well. My tocco broke after a small fall as well.

Hi, I have BT free wifi with my broadband package and have been told that I can access the internet free with a smart phone from BT hotspots and open zones. Has anyone managed to use this facility on this phone please? I've an old Tesco phone PAYG with credit on it and would like to know if I could just transfer my sim card and use the phone... Can you see the internet pages clearly, ie Ebay, emails etc. Thanks for your help
-
The wifi works fine with the wildfire, i use it all the time. Almost all internet pages come up clearly. Certain videos that use flash wont load though. Your sim should work fine if your mobile phone is tesco. thats what i did
-
I did exactly the same too, I use WiFi too all the time so you should have no probs..
-
-
Can anyone tell me the width and height please. It sounds huge from the tesco description...unless I'm reading it wrong! Inches or cms will do! Cheers
-
It is 10 cm tall and six cm wide and 1 cm deep. It is smaller than iPhone and desire .
-
It is 10cm in length and 6cm in width.
-
-
Hi, if u have this phone on pay as u go, does it gobble up the credit wen u look at internet (facebook), like others do....?
-
yes sure does use internet at home if you have internet at home its free
-
-
can you use skype on it and what is the best network to get it on. Also do you think you should get the HTC Wildfire s instead or is it to expensive and is it good to order it online or better or get it in a shop. where is the best place to buy it from
-
yes you can use Skype on this phone, I've always been with Orange so unable to help any further,I bought my phone through Orange online store
-
-
heyyy this looks like a lovely phone how long does the battery last for when your on the internet totally non - stop
-
Wildfire is great phone but battery life is not good, nmeeds to be charged overnight if using it for internet
-
-
Hi,
This is going to be my first time upgrading to a smartphone. Seeing mixed reviews on the battery life. How bad is it? I am likely to use phone for calls, texts, music and possibly internet .
I see people are saying that they have to charge it overnight. but i thought doing this just ruins the battery life anyway?-
Battery life for me is fine, can get usually 2/3 days in between charging, but I am not constantly talking or using internet, suppose it depends on your own personal usage how long battery will last.
-
Battery life for me is not very good. but i use it alot. for all kinds of things. for calls and text life is fine. hope this helped
-
Battery life okay. Could probably get longer but too scared it runs out at an important time! Know two of my friend have same phone and they are also happy with it.
-
-
i have a blackberry what do you think is better a blackberry or a htc
-
I personally dont like blackberries because of their buttons beig too small. My phone works perfectly fine for emails, facebook, youtube and the apps etc so im not really sure what a blackberry can offer on top of this?
-
-
Have you tried using the app Mapmywalk.com? Does it work?
-
I haven't but if that'd an app that measured your walkin then there are similar ones that I know work.
-
-
Im thinking of buying this phone it will be the first htc phone but i had a black berry (it wasn't too good) over all this phone seems quite good but does it come with a GPS/satnav or do you buy an app for it or can you not get one?
-
I hav to say this is my 1st HTC phone too,it is realy good only problem is it can freeze some times..apps are realy good, it does I'm sure hav GPS..
-
Yes it has Google maps which has built in sat nav . And the phone has gps. Have only tried sat nav once and it was ok. Although I saw it. Running a bit smoother on my friends desire . If you will use sat nav often you may want a more powerful phone but for once in a while my phone is perfect .
-
-
Is it a naturaly good phone ???
-
yes , good choice.
-
-
I am looking for the wildfire in brown or black. what is more popular for a boy?
-
Mine was brown and, so far as I know, that's the only available colour.
-
Black or White. I have white, which is good.
-
-
is there space for a memory card to be put in? if so what type?
-
no
-
-
can you skype in HTC
-
yes you can
-
-
can u get pingchat on the phone ?
-
Can get whats app, same as bbm
-
-
if i was to get this phone could i swap music and pics with my family using the bluetooth on the phone???
-
Well I can swap music and pics from and too my phone from my computer, works computer, my old mobile and even my mums mobile which I think is almost antique! Hope that helps!
-
yeah can be done will take a bit of time depends on the size of files you are sending.
-
-
Hiya, I have been thinking about getting this phone.. it sounds really good and I just need to save up a little bit more to be able to afford it! Do you think it will be worth the money? Is it a good phone in general? What do you think about everything on it? Lots of people have recommended it so I will probably get it anyway! Thankyou:) x
-
Its the best
-
-
How much music can I load onto this phone? I've got a N95 8gb so need something special to tempt me. I mainly use my phone for texting, FaceBooking and for listening to the 2days 22hrs of music I keep on it. I'm pretty sure the obvious reply is gonna include the word 'Mozart' in it but maybe this 'Wildfire' can help?
-
Hi Andrew,
It is entirely dependant upon what size of micro SD card you can fork out for, I believe the wildfire is able to support cards upto 32GB meaning the technically it would have four times as much storage as your N95. It, however, only had 100MB of internal storage. So the choice is yours.
Hope this helps :]
-
-
hi im looking at getting this phone, if im on pay as you go and i am at home can i use the internet from my computer to go on the internet on the htc for free ?
-
Hi, I think you can but if I was you I would ask the phone company that your getting the phone from because different shops do different things. Any more questions feel free to ask.
-
Hi yes if uv got WiFi at home then u can use ur phone and use the internet for free..
-
yes you can use the internet for free if you have wifi
-
Yes if you have wi fi its free on your phone .
-
-
I'm planning to buy this phone on pay as you go soon so will it hold many apps?
-
yes
-
-
Im looking to get this as a replacment for my old Samsung Genio Qwertey overall would you say this phone is worth the money
-
The phone its self is good, but does seem to have the habbit of slowing to almost a total stop this normally happens when joining the network or a WiFi network after being off/out of range for a while.
-
The phone is good value ,wouldn't be without mine
Loads of apps , never had any issues in the
5 months ive had it.
-
-
Im looking to get this as a replacment for my old Samsung Genio Qwertey overall would you say this phone is worth the money
-
I think it was as I got an exceptionally great deal on Tesco PAYG. Was paying ridicuous bills on contract before!
-
-
hi, when if bought it from pc world was it unlocked and can it be used on other networks as there is a picture of T-Mobile in th pictures of PC World because i'm buying it and i'm a tourist. thanks
-
if pc world says its unlocked then its unlocked. im not really too sure on buying phones from pc world. im not too sure if this helps
if it says unlocked then yes it would work with most networks. if they say its unlocked and its not you may have to talk to them about it or pay for it to be unlocked which could coist any thing £25-£50
-
-
How can i pay for apps on the android market ie. is there gift cards as such eg. doodle jump is 60p how can i pay for the app to be downloaded in my htc
-
I have only downloaded free apps (easily ) but it tells you how to do this on HTC's website see
http://www.htc.com/uk/help_howtos.aspx?p_id=316
-
-
will the battery life go fast even though i do not have facebook and i wont be on the internet 24/7!! Do you think it was worth while buying?
-
I don't use Facebook on my phone that much, and I don't use the internet as much, and my battery lasts a good few days... Out of all the phones I've ever had, this is the best one yet. I absolutely love the HTC Wildfire!!!
-
Battery life is sometimes pretty poor. But there are many helpful guides in getting the most out of your HTC Wilfire's battery on the internet, so search how to make the battery last longer in Google.
-
-
I have never owned a HTC before and i'm wondering whether it will be hard to use as I literally don't know squat about phones :/
Also what apps would you recomend??-
Its very similar to the iphone if you've neve seen one before, but dont fear for there is a very simple tutorial when first turning on the phone which tells you the basics of how to use it.. as for apps thats purely up to how you want to use your phone whether you enjoy playing games ect.. or you are like me and download things like Google maps(which i think is on it to begin with) to help you with general everyday things and don't worry you cant really go wrong with downloading the wrong ones because generally most apps are free anyway.
-
-
well i am wondering if i should get this for my birthday i am 11 but it looks so goos is it though can u tell me if there is any reason i should not get this ????
-
Not at all, it is easy to use, looks good and has all functions similar to an I-phone. The only things that I think could be better would be the sound on the music player as it is a bit tinny but just a minor thing. Thanks
-
Great phone. Just that the screen looks a little less quality than others. Overall, I am pleased.
-
-
Im thinking of buying the HTC Wildfire, but what i need to know is it compatible to pair up with my ford fiesta bluetooth?
-
I have paired my HTC Wildfire with an old Nokia phone and my new laptop PC. This shows it connected to an old version of Bluetooth and the latest Bluetooth version. Thus I would expect it to connect to your Ford Fiesta Bluetooth system.
-
-
When Buying this phone on the tesco network does it come with free credit? If so, How much
-
No, sorry. Credit must be manditoraly (without refusal) bought with a brand new phone. Credit required is usually a minimum of £10.00. But can be upto £20.00. Contract deals on Talkmobile (Carphone Warehouse's network) are amazing. You can get this phone free for £12 a month with unlimited free internet.
-
-
How much memory does the HTC wildfire have, also can you insert a SD card? And when your texting someone can you turn the phone onto its side and they keyboard will turn to a bigger keyboard? Thanks (:
-
It comes with a 2GB SanDisk Mini SD card.
-
-
can you use orange pay as you go dolpin on this phone and can you use wi-fi on it?? plus would you say its better than a blackberry or not?? thanx
-
Yes you can use Orange Dolphin. If you get it unlocked, eg: from The Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U. Yes it comes with fully functional WiFi.
-
Hi will,
You will need to have the phone unlocked if you want to use it on orange. As for the latter part of your question, i'm afraid I cannot say, since I have never owned a blackberry, nor do I know enough about them to advise you.
Hope this helps :] -
Yes you can pick whatever Ornage payplan you want and I dont like blackberries. Their buttons are too small.
-
Orange worked fine on it, defo better than a blackberry, loads more features and the wifi is great. you can also use it as a wifi hotspot, great for when ya about with ya laptop
-
-
I already ahve a Tesco sim card with all my contacts on it, so when i buy this phone, will i be able to just put my sim card in it and have all my saved data on the phone instead of buying the whole new sim card. Will i have to buy the phone from tesco in order for this to happen or can i buy it from PC World.
-
I also had a Tesco sim and all ur data wil be saved but in order to use dat sim u wil hav to buy a phone which is opened to Tesco network..or buy the phone from any whr but ul hav to hav it opened to all networks for ur sim to work. I purchased my HTC from Tesco,it was a lot cheaper !!!!!
-
-
assuming this is locked to Tesco - if pay as you go - when connecting to WI FI hot spots/coffee shops/other peoples router services are there any charges?
-
yes its only free at home
-
-
i really like the look of this phone but i'm abit concerned about the comments about it's battery life my current phone needs charging every couple of days also does it come with some apps or do i need to download and are these free .someone at work has one and she says it's a great phone i am tempted but want one that won't need charging every day as this can weaken the battery thanks for any advice you can give me .
-
you do need to charge it every day if you use the internet alot, if you dont then it is ok for a couple of days.
Also it has an 'Android Market' on the menu and it is where you get apps from, there are three categories; top paid, top free and just in.
I get all my apps from the free section and there are thousands to choose from. The only thing with the free ones is there is usually an advertisment on one side.
But all in all i really enjoy having this phone, it is good & i do reccommend it !!
Hope my advice helped =)
-
-
My daughter has a HTC Desire and she says she can download music for free on it. Does the HTC Wildfire have this feature also?
-
Yes It does I think its an app you have to download
-
-
do youtube videos play well on the htc wildfire?
-
They seem to.
-
-
my son wants to use skype and i have been told this phone can download the app for skype has anyone done that and is it easy to use skype from this phone
-
I have the skype app on my wildfire, it us very easy and free to download from the android market. It takes a few mins to self set up but once. It's done that you should have no trouble.
-
-
i have just got one but was told it didn't have bluetooth but it is advertised as having it can anyone tell me weather it does or not and if not how can i transfer all my piccies over and music that i already have
-
Hello Kerrie,
You can get to Bluetooth by going on to 'Setting' and scrolling down. Pictures and music can be transferred. If you go on line you can get a full users manual from HTC -it is 183 pages long but very good... -
it does come with bluetooth, you have to go to settings and then wifi, and then turn it on, download the htc sync program, just put in htc in the engine search and then you have to sync the phone to your computer and you are then able to transfer pics etc. I hope this is useful for you.
-
It does have bluetooth. Just click on menu then settings and then Wireless & Networks. Then you will find bluetooth! Hope that helps!
-
-
i'm looking for a smart phone and i cant choose between a blackberry,HTC SMART or a HTC WILDFIRE. canu you help me please:)x
-
I chose the wildfire mainly because of the price or i would have chose the htc desire which has a better screen resolution, otherwise its mainly the same.
I have not been disapointed its a really good quality smart phone i would recommend this phone. Htc all the way....
-
I agree with Jo. The phone is excellent value and if u need more storage it is easy and cheap (16gb from Amazon for just under £16) to upgrade.
-
-
I am about to get this phone but how long about does the battery last on it?
-
About 8 hours depending on how much your using it. Hope that helps.
-
i charge my phone daily, i use the net all the time and play games. hope this is of some help
-
-
Can you play angry birds on it? And how is the battery life when you use the internet for a long time?
-
not sure about the angry birds, hannah. Using internet uses the same power as normal usage I find. Tho it always needs charging after about 36 (ish) hours dependent on use.
-
-
Is this phone worth the money :)
-
I didn't actually have to pay for it as such as i have it on contract however in the time i have had it i am discovering lots of new things i can do with it (it has a flashlight which has come in handy! new apps to download etc....) and i do think that for the £100 odd it sells for is worth it as a cheaper alternative to the I-Phone. It is just as sleek and i think the apps are just as good.
-
Hi Meg, yes I definitely think this phone is worth the money. It is easy to use and has many great features like the radio, great maps, amazon kindle +(check out teeter for a great game to pass a few spare minutes!) Camera quality is also good as is the camcorder. With email and internet access its got many of the same features as an iphone but at a more reasonable price. I love mine and am more than happy to recommend it.
-
-
i really like the htc wildfire and im going to get one although have to wait a couple of weeks (ie birthday) i wanted to get the blackberry but the htc seems so much better, the camera ie 5mp and with it having google maps etc on it, everybody seems to have wicked reviews towards it on here only problem is orange seems to be more expensive straight from shop than say phones 4 u or carphone warehouse, phones 4 u is £149.99 or on o2 its 20 quid cheaper but id prefer to stay with orange
my main question is the signal, does everybody here get good 3g signals etc?-
I have had a HTC for a few weeks now and am on TMobile (which shares signal with Orange)..... reception has been faultless so far. Signal no problem.
-
Go with O2, much more sensible and better network overall. Includes amazing signal!
-
-
How much does it cost to text or do you get unlimited texts on pay as you go?
-
I get unlimitied texts 300 minutes and 500mb internet, plenty for me as I text a lot I don't make many calls but like to check facebook etc on the move and I only pay £15.32 a month and the phone was free
-
-
Compared to phones such as the HTC Desire, Iphone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S, is the HTC Wildfire very small or does it fit in the palm nicely?
-
My son has an i phone and the wildfire is probably around the same size.
-
-
Do you know if there is anywhere to attach phone charms/straps?
and also. what color does it come in if you upgrade online from orange?-
There is no where to attach charms. Upgrades on Orange give you the HTC Wildfire Black Edition (exclusive to Orange) and obviously that is totally black apart from the ring around the touchpad and around the camera lens.
-
-
dose the battery last about 2 days
-
Hi George. I think the battery can last 2 days under ideal conditions. So if all power use is minimised, you may get 2 days. Personally, I find it normally lasts less than 1 day..that's probably with too many apps etc running/internet usage etc.
-
-
does it have flash and zoom and does it have a qwerty keyboard? If so does it come with prediction and is it possible to turn it off as I hate it!
Thank You xxx :)-
Hello Sophie,
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes! :] Prediction texting as far as I know isn't on as the default so you won't have to switch it off. :] Hope this helps.
-
-
I've been wanting to get a HTC for quite a long time but aparently many of my friend say the bettery life isnt good- it lasts only a few hours. Is this true. Also if you dont have internet on your phone can u still use the wi-fi.. will it give the same results?
-
Bettery life is very good, last for at least 3 days. Yes wi-fi works without internet.
-
I would say the battery lasts 2 days max. Just make air u charge it every night . WiFi ia fine .
-
-
I've been wanting to get a HTC for quite a long time but aparently many of my friend say the bettery life isnt good- it lasts only a few hours. Is this true. Also if you dont have internet on your phone can u still use the wi-fi.. will it give the same results?
-
the battery is great and yes its better to use the internet at home as its free
-
-
Is this phone better on contract than payg??
Do you still get all the apps on both?
Is getting a 15.32 per mnth on contract good?-
I have only ever had it on contract, some of the apps need internet which i get on my contract and it stops me going over which is good.
I dont know about all the apps, i'd assume so
and 15.32 depends on what you are getting; I pay 20.42 and get unlimited texts, 600 minutes and unlimited internet.
Hope this helps!!
-
-
I understand that with the most up-to-date software version the phone acts as a wifi hotspot for up to 5 devices. This sounds great but I read somewhere that 3 do not allow it on their network as they'd rather u bought a dongle- Can you tell me if this is true and also if it is possible to use this facility on O2 and Orange. (Still trying to decide which network to go on...)
I would be buying this originally from the Orange website as I have £45 accumulated in my Orange Phone Fund so if I DID decide to get it unlocked and go to O2 or Three network would I still be able to update software in the future?
Thanks a million.-
mine roams between 3g and hotspot automatically.mine is on o2 which i feel is the best network and is futureproof,i hope this helps a bit.julian.
-
£ isnt very good for coverage, I originally had a phone on the 3 Network and couldnt get a signal unless I dorve into my village, and with T Mobile and 02, which I use the signal is fine. I was able to return my phone to 3 because of the lack of signal.
-
-
is this phone alright for satnav or not it appears to say yes then no any ideas i am a senior citizen and not great on new fan-galled things any one able to help?
-
There is a navigation app but I haven't used it myself, so not sure how accurate or useful it is.
-
-
I really want this phone for my birthday and reading some of the reveiws it looks amazing! Is it really that amazing and also does it have the same kind of apps you can get on the ipod touch? Also, buying it from tesco network is it a good deal?
-
you can get apps from Android Market a lot of the apps are free ! I'm not sure about the Tesco network as I always deal with Orange. Hope this helps with your questions.
-
-
does using facebook count as using up the mb u get on contract? or do u pay extra to use it?
Many thanks xx-
It's part of the contract. I don't use Facebook that much on my phone so I'm not sure how much you'd have to use it to go over your allowence.
-
-
i have a htc wildfire s and was wondering if anyone knows how to sync photos onto the pc? I am guessing its the same as the htc wildfire so if you know please help!
Thanks xx-
the way I do it is - I take out the memory card from phone, and insert it in my laptop so all its left to do is to copy whatever you want from the memory card to ur pc.... by the way you might need a SD Micro adapter since the memory card is so small....
-
-
Can video be viewed from BBC website on the Wildfire? Ipod (apple) blocks it, stating you need to download "Flash", but won't allow. Can you also get Hotmail?
-
yes its the same with the Wildfire, but yes you can get hotmail.
-
No video can't be viewed from BBC website states flash not supported. I believe you can access hotmail.
-
-
ive heard a lot about the poor screen quality of this phone and its the only thing putting me off buying it so is the screen actually that bad?
-
I think the screen is great!
In terms of resolution it's very crystal clear and attractive. In terms of responsiveness, the screen is very good, however, I do prefer the iPhone's screen, but the screen on the HTC Wildfire is very very good and I have encountered absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. -
Yeah, the resolution of the Wildfire's screen is a bit less detailed than the Desire. Pictures look better on the computer than on the Wildfire, as the quality of the screen is a little cheap.
-
-
Hi. This is a completely girly question but I am looking for a handset that actually has smiley faces when you use emoticons, not just colons and brackets. Does this phone comply? :o)
-
Not that I have found though there may well be an app that will give you them.
-
Hi
Yes you get Andriod faces, as a message add on
-
-
hii, i am just about to buy this phone and was just wonderin if you could tell me what the texting screen is like (qwerty keyboard or the standard keyboard) and if you find that it is quite slow or freezes? thank you!
-
Yeah, the keyboard is laggy, slow, glitchy and quite often freezes.
-
I found no problems with the keyboard, but I changed from the standard keyboard to the one displaying two characters on the same key (this might sound crazy, but because the keys are larger you are less likely to hit the wrong key). The phone also has a form of predictive text that takes some of the hard work out of texting or e-mailing.
I use my phone at home on a wireless broadband connection, so do not suffer the problems associated with 3G, but I find it quite adequate for its intended purpose.
As for being slow or freezing, I have not had any problems so far.
If you have any further enquiries, I am only too happy to answer them. -
I have had no problems with screen freezing or with the keyboard speed. Though like Christopher says do find problems with hitting the wrong keys with the standard querty layout, but this just takes practice to master like anything :D
-
-
ok hoping someone can help me i downloaded alive wallpaper app from the app market and it said to make sure the phone was compatable to use live wallpaper it then showed me how to open the live wallpaper but it would'nt let me open it so i'm thinking the phone isn't suitable for live wallpaper but how can i check if it is or not thanks
-
I would suggest taking it into a mobile shop eg carphone warehouse or orange/vodaphone shop and asking them. Finding anything online is a nightmare. You could try trying HTC Wildfire owners manual into the Google search engine but you need a degree in space research and design just to decipher the website. Ask an expert in a mobile phone store is your best bet for a straight answer.
-
-
how can i change the font size on the wildfire as i know this is something the phone does not come with
-
You cannot.
-
-
Does the Wildfire run Whatsapp? If so do you get it from the app store?
-
Yes and yes. Its free for a year I think.
-
-
does it have at sat nav
-
Richard, yes it does. It tells you exactly where you are on foot or on road on screen. In good detail too.
-
not installed but you can get a free app and there are some functions you can use thru google. There is also a places app installed which you can use if you are lost it'll tell you where you are!
-
Not as far as i know,
-
-
Blackberry 3G or HTC Wildfire?
-
Well I chose HTC Wildfire, but never had a Blackberry, sorry.
-
-
i am 11 years old and only really want this phone for the apps (games) do they all work as well as they do on the i-phone? and aswell can you upload photos from your htc straight to facebook?
-
Yeah the games work fine. And yes you can upload pics straight to Facebook. I've never had an iPhone so I can't compare both fones. Hope that helps x
-
Heya. Well there are plenty of games to download for free and ones you have to pay for, as you can search in the Android market. Most games work very well, however I have the Angry birds game and that is quite slow on this phone, you can play it perfectly well, it just takes a little time when you fling the bird! The Iphone is much quicker on that game! This phone can lag (take time) when your playing fast, quick games. But, overall it does play games well, but if you want to play games like how the Iphone plays them, then you might want to consider looking at a better HTC phone that has a fast processor, as I don't think this phone has a processor, which is why its slower! I hope this helps.
-
-
Do you have to call to set up the internet, or does it automatically set up after topping-up?
-
It is automatic.
-
Mines on contract ,so when I turned it on for the first time, everything was there on the screen. Facebook and emails are so easy to use on this phone ,not sure if its different for pay as you go.
-
It should be automatic but being on Pay as you go, things may be different. I'd check with your service provider. Calls should be free and they can help to set the phone up. Best of luck.
-
-
does it have wifi and can you turn it off?
-
Yes you can turn it on and off when you want to.
-
You may turn it off. Yes, the features include WiFi and 3G or 3G+ (HSDPA).
-
-
My contract (with 3) is up for renewal and i've never had one of these phones (my current one is a sony erricson w595!) I wanted the samsung galaxy s as my friend has one and it's lovely but i can't get it on the price i'm currently paying which is £15 a month and don't really want to be paying much more than that. I've been looking at the wildfire and the desire but not sure which to go for? Which would you recommend and why and which network offers the best value for money?
-
Wow, that's quite a question. My first HTC Wildfire was on 3. £20 per month 5k texts 600 mins and 1GB download. I still have that one but the signal here in Southampton is rubbish so I bought the new one on Tesco and have no regrets. Signal is great and with the current triple credit deal on PAYG I am paying £15 pcm for £45 worth of calls and texts. There are text/call bundle offers available but with the free credit deal I doubt you will need it. £5 buys you a 5k text bundle if you decide you need it. Hope that helps. Good luck. Dave

I was told that there is not much difference betwen the wildfire and the desire (mainly the price). I went for the wildfire and it was a good choice. On t mobile, they do a package of £20 (little bit more than you are paying at the mo) but you do get 600 mins, you can get unlimited texts using the booster they offer and also unlimited internet use.. hope this helps you. Kerry
-
Like Kerry there not much difference. I went more for the package, that T-mobile gave me. Charlotte
-
-
Dose this have facebook on, and can you go on chat on facebook ??? and is this phone pay as you go :) ??
-
Yeah it has Facebook and I'm pretty sure you can go on Facebook chat. I'm not sure about pay as you go, you'd have to ask your provider or have a look around to see if anyone does it.
-
I got mine on a contract for £15.32 per month, as I was on a PAYG, and spending £40 per month.
-
-
are they good for the price
-
Yes it dose everything a smartphone should just not always as fast as some others
-
Yes. The price of all of it's competitors is made un-just by the Wildfire as it seems to do alll (and sometimes more) than the other Android Smartphones on the market. Go for it!
-
-
looking to get the Wildfire and I can get the Internet Booster as part of my Inclusive Flexible Booster. What exactly is it?
-
dont take tmobile try any other network its like rubbish no good signals and no good internet provided by tmobile and also its so expensive and put extra money on your pay monthly bill
-
Hi Lou. I presume you are getting the Wildfire from T-Mobile? If so,the Internet booster is included in the package price. It means that you will have unlimited Internet access on the phone. Also, you can choose one other free booster. I chose the unlimited texts and all this is for the price stated (mine is £15.32 per month which also includes 100 talk minutes). Hope this helps. Yours, Jan.
-
HI lOU , THE BOOSTER IS UNLIMITED INTERNET WHICH IS FAB ! NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE PHONE AT ALL .
-
-
what apps can u play/ what types of apps can u use and also how long does it take to download the apps
-
The apps are from the Android market and there is an Android version of most Apple apps that are available on an iPhone. The only thing with game apps that require fast movement are that they appear a bit sluggish. The apps differ in download times depending on the size but most are small and take around 30 secs.
Hope that helps.
-
-
i am thinking of asking for this phone as a birthday present , i was just wondering does it crash at all and is it better than a blackberry , because thats my other choice ??? thankyouu :)
-
Hello Sophie,
I can't say that I have ever had mine crash on me once, as for the the Blackberry, I really couldn't say since I have never owned, nor used one.
Hope this helps :]

-
I have just bought this phone how do I delete and also I cannot get onto planet three or favourites,it says I have disabled data roaming can you help please
-
Sorry I only use wifi but check that 'Mobile Networks' is checked under Settings, Wireless & networks, that may be were you have disabled it.
-
To delete files press menu, then settings. Scroll to application, find the application you want to delete and touch uninstall. You can actually download the user manual too if you go to the htc website. You should be able to enable data roaming by going to settings, then wireless and networks.
-
-
which company is better for a htc orange or vodaphone or 3 or t-mobile?
-
I don't know but find orange were good as good upgrade for free and cheap line rental
-
This kinda depends where you live!
-
-
hi is it easy to use the htc wildfire
-
Very i was in doubt wether i could move up to a touch screen its a great first time phone you can turn it sideways and that makes letters bigger for text, when you pick it up it stops ringing it also has a clever camera touch the face you want it to focus on then click easy.
My wife has one too Great phone any problems look at the htc forum someone will help if you get stuck.
Hope this helps -
Yes - very.
The manual is easy but - really just play with it and it becomes really a joy to find out how easy it really is.
-
-
hi.
you know the thing that makes all the facebooking etc come together, does that use up your credit on internet?-
no, you only use internet when you use it no extra.
i would really recomend htc it's the best phone i have had in a long time.
-
-
I was wondering, people say that its really slow on games. How slow is slow? It's just i enjoy playing them and is it better than the HTC Desire?
-
some games can be really slow, but saying that I have only downloaded two bad ones.. the others are perfect. & i'm not sure about the desire, people who have it love it but i love my wildfire because it is a nice little phone that does basically the same thing for cheaper!! :) hope this helps!
And ive had my phone for about 3 months now and it is still surprising me with apps and things that make my life easier!! -
Hi,
I haven't used the HTC Desire so wouldn't be able to compare them. I play a few games on it and it seems to work fine to me - not slow at all!
-
-
is it a good phone could i get better? if so which phone for £20 a month unlimited text 100+ mins and so mich of internet?
-
my partner has just brought a nokia c6-01 it is fab i wish i had that one now ! he got the 10.50 a month contract with 02 the phone is free on this contract hope that helps , i am still having probs with my phone and thinking about returning it , this one i am tied to a 24 month contract .
-
it is a good phone the battery lifes a bit poor ?
i got unlimited texts and internet and 100 mins for 15.30 a month .you can also easily connect to a laptop for internet anywhere as a dongle
-
-
ive got a mini x10 pro ive had it a year and im after the wildfire s is it worth swapping my phone for it
-
I dont like the Mini one cos it is too small. I woud say it would be a good idea.
-
I would say definite . I've had mine 1 month and don't regret it, I've used iPhone etc and this is just as good
-
I can only comment on the Wildfire and I would recommend it
-
-
I have just brought this phone and only have 27MB of internet access. I got home from work today and discovered that 18% had been used, even though I had not used the phone all day. I am assuming this was the APPS connecting. How can I stop the phone doing this as I don't want to be charged as have wireless at home.
-
Unclick mobile network also go into mobile netwoks to turn off the always-on mobile data.
Go to Settings, unclick Mobile Network also go into Mobile Netwoks to turn off the always-on mobile data.
-
Exactly the same as Craig - I've learnt to turn wi-fi,mobile data and gprs off until I need them - seems to save the battery as well.
-
-
Does it support flash player?
-
my daughter tells me so
-
No.
-
-
can I set up the phone so that I can access my emails via 3G internet ie can I access mybroadband provider inbox (talk talk / tiscali)? I would have thought so but for some reason the orange website indicates that email is not available on the Dolphin 10 monthly package???
-
Depending on your broadband inbox provider there may be an app that you can download that enables you to access your email. For example, yahoo mail has an app that allows you to access your inbox straightaway. However, my broadband provider is Virgin Media and they don't have an app, so what I have to do is bookmark Virgin Media ans this enables me to access my inbox that way. Hope this helps.

-
does this phone have voice dialling and auto answer for hands free bluetooth?
-
yes and yes although I dont use either very often,
-
-
Would u recommend this phone to me and is it slow after a while of using it xx
-
I have not found the phone to be slow, It is easy to navigate around and apps are easy to install. This is my first android phone and I am possibly not using at much as I should. The battery lasts about 3 days. Its a good value phone and I can say i would recommend it
-
-
Would u recommend this phone to me and is it slow after a while of using it xx
-
Hello
I would recommend this phone and I haven't yet noticed it becoming slow, in fact it can be too fast but that is the touchpad being too sensitive. The only major problem is the very short battery life, sometimes needs doing daily!

hi
I cant decide between a samsung galaxy ace or htc wildfire?
Samsung galaxy ace has a fast processor(800mghz) so I can play lots of games yet the htc wildfire is really good for messaging and is nicely set out.-
That would depend on if you play more games than texting or chatting , the wildfire is better for texting and chatting it is also good for gaming . In my opinion the samsung is the superior phone but the wildfire is the better of the two
-
I have not used the Samsung before so cannot really comment. I can say that I am very happy with my Wildfire after a month or so's use. The only drawback is that the battery doesn't last all that long and so I have been charging every 1-2 days, but I gather that all smartphones are a bit like this (until better batteries are developed)
-

Well there is a new Wildfire S available now - the old model I reviewed has finished. The Wildfire S has a better screen than the Wildfire but fewer colours. For games - processor speed yes but the pixel count for the screen will be important too.The decision rests on what you will use your phone for mostly - gaming or social networking. The HTC software with the phones is very comprehensive and is a big reworking of the Android platform.
-
-
Does the HTC Wildfire have a memory card slot
-
Yes it does but you have to remove the back cover to access it.
-
-
does it have a memory card slot
-
No, not that I can see.
-
Yes, there is a micro SD card slot behind the casing. Comes with a 2GB card but is compatible with up to 32GB.
-
Yes. Micro SD. 2Gb fitted as standard.

Hi
I have got two questions for you:
Does instant messaging come with the htc wildfire s already or do you have to buy it as an app and does the instant messaging look like the one on the iphone?
I am also thinking of getting this phone so do you think it is worth all the money for this phone or do you think will be a waste?-
Hi Finley, the Wildfire comes with loads of apps already loaded and this includes the "Talk" app. This appears to be an IM'ing package through google mail. I haven't used the service myself so I'm unable to make any judgements on it. Unfortunately I have never owned an Iphone so I can't tell you if its the same IM app. AS for the phone being worth it, in my opinion the answer is a positive yes. My only Caveat would be to check from who/where you purchase it, (see my comments re buying from the Orange shop).
-
-
is this phone beter than a blackberry is it any good
-
It's lot better than a blackberry, its easy to use apps are great personally I think its better than the iPhone
-
Yes its on par with the iPhone but cheaper
-
-
is it easy to stream photo's on your phone straight to face book?
-
Hi I hadn't tried before now but just downloaded the free facebook app and it was really to upload a pic. I love my phone even with the battery needing charging fairly regularly.
-
-

-
Instant messaging already on phone, i would advise this phone but i would cjeck out the desire first for the battery life. Wildfire is a cool phone
-
I don't use this phone for instant messaging but it is a feature on tne phone. What I can tell you, is that it is a great phone well worth the money (in my opinion) and I'd definitely recommend it. As far as I'm aware it does most things an i phone does at a fraction of the price. Easy to use, great for browsing and lots of cool features and apps.
-
-
hi is it true that the battery life is not very good and is the speaker good
-
Battery isn't the best but speakers are great
-
hi.i have found the battery life to be very good when ur not connected to the internet 24/7.it lasts days.speaker ok defo not the best i have had.it does have good sound threw the headphones thoe.hope this helps you.
-
-
do you think its a good phone for a teenager to have for two years
-
Hi, yes I do. It has all the features that a teenager would want I imagine. Great camera and video. Good music player. You can load and watch movies on it. Also has Facebook and Twitter and loads of apps on Android market.
I would advise a leather flip card and screen protector but in my opinion you can't go wrong with this phone. -
Yes, its not large and heavy like an i phone, and it has got lots of gizmo's teenagers would love, easy to FB and Tweeter, but a very sensitive key pad.
-
Yes we bought it for my 14 year old son. It has access to all that he wants and more. It seems to be able to cope with games, music, social stuff and good wifi connection
-
-
what is the vibration like as i have to have my phone on silent most of the time.
-
OK, no better or worse than any other phone I've owned
-
very good,im a coach driver and i've always got mine on silent and i can always feel it when i've got a call or notification
-
Very good I work in a hospital and have to have it on vibrate all day.
-
-
is the htc wildfire better than samsung galaxy s
-
Yes it is for100%...
-
I'm sorry, but I've never owned a samsung galaxy, so it is unfair for me to say. The HTC is a very good phone.
-
I am really pleaee with my HTC Wildfire but I cannot comment on the Samsung galaxy as I've never owed one.
-
-
does the original wildfire model have the wifi hotspot option available (the wildfire s does) ?
-
Yes, it does
-
Mines a wildfire A3333....which I think is the original, though I'm not sure. This comes with the hotspot option. It's pretty easy to use, and reliable. It's convenient for basic web-browsing. Not so good for streaming videos etc...
-
-
what apps would you recommend for this phone
-
market,, , barcode scanner, news, weather,wi-fi hotspot, clock, flashlight are a few,if you go into the market app and if you're into playing games on your phone and find games that are free to download.hope this helps
-
-
Will the HTC Wildfire unlock inyour pocket?
-
No, I have set a swipe to unlock it,
-
-
I'm saving for either an iPod touch or an android which do i get???
-
for speed go for android, if you want tieing into apple for apps go for ipod
-
I would recommend android (I have one!). Apple do things very well and if you like that and it is important then you might be happier with Apple but remember they are trying to tie you in. They do all sorts of things in different ways so changing later would be difficult. Android sell more devices now than iPhones. You will, I believe, get a higher spec machine for your money with Android. Of course it is personal choice. My son says go Apple as he loves it.
-
-
i am contemplating wether to buy or not
can you get twitter and face book
and how easy is it to set up wifi
sorry if i sound nieve still got the 20th century phone want to be in the 21st century-
Both WiFi and Facebook are easy to set up and use I do not know about Twitter
-
its realy easy to set up for social network sites i use facebook not done twitter
-
-
My eyesight is not to clever, can you make the txt larger especially when reading or creating texts? Thanks
-
No, not to my knowledge. The txt remains the same size although I have not fiddled around too much with it
-
-
Hi i'm thinking of bying this phone but i would like to know what the texting and the calling is like? Also what you get in the box and if it is a good easy phone for teenagers?
Thanks-
texting is via a touchscreen keyboard, if you have large fingers like me you will find it easier to use a stylus to prevent spelling errors.
In the box:- Quick start guide, charger, USB cable to plug into either the charger or to connect to computer.
I find it pretty easy to use, so I would expect the average teenager to handle it with no problems.
-
quite hard to start with but then u can get used to it rather easy, cant think of anything else, enjoy your htc
-
-
Hi i'm thinking of bying this phone but i would like to know what the texting and the calling is like? Also what you get in the box and if it is a good easy phone for teenagers?
Thanks-
its great for calling and texting, very easy to use and if, like me, you get stuck the htc online helpline is excellent, hasd provided me with many answers! comes complete with charger(usb and mains) earphones and instructions. I love it!
-
I find it very easy to use for texts and calls and i am an oldie so a teenager would find it very easy to use.A few of my daughters friends have one and are very happy with it. it comes with charger and earphones(usb and mains) and the online helpline is very informative.
-
-
I am thinking about bying an HTC Wildfire. I am a pensioner and have never had a smart phone before. My wifi broadband at home is from Orange. Will there be a problem if I buy the phone from Tesco as I see it is on sale at the moment? I do not use my mobile very often and then mainly for sending texts. I would like to use the phone for apps, surfing the web from home and occasionally when on the move. Would Pay as you go be a better deal for me or would you recommend a contract? I would like to stay with Orange broadband
-
Janet, I can't answer the technical stuff but using the Wildfire has been easy. I'm a pensioner too and it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. It picked up my home wifi immediately and shows you when you can use wifi instead of the mobile network to access the internet.
The camera is a real boon, I love it, good quality and it was fairly straightforward to download the pictures to my laptop using the USB cable.
I got mine through T-Mobile cos it was cheapest at the time and I wanted to ensure I had some technical support on hand which has been essential for things like setting up an email account so you can get them on your phone as well - very handy - and there is much I could be doing with it but as I don't need I'm only using what I want.
All in all though I've been impressed with the Wildfire, one of my better buys.
Good luck and have fun with which ever one you go for.
-
-
on this htc phone with orange can you download a language app
-
Yes you can
-
yes u can
-
-
I'm thinking of buying a HTC Phone but not sure whether to get the HTC Wildfire OR HTC Wildfire S can anyone help ??
-
I have both, the wildfire with work and the wildfire s as a personal phone and think the s is much better. Better screen resolution etc
-
The Wildfire S is the upgraded version. I have the G8 and absolutely LOVE it. Very simple to use and the best phone I have owned to date
-
-
will tomtom or any sat nav work on this phone
-
my phone already had navigation on it then just downloaded voice software from appstore and it very good hope this helps
-
-
will tomtom or any sat nav work on this phone
-
Andriod comes with a Map App as standard which is ok for satnav use I have used it a couple of times and its pretty easy to use and has got me to my destination. With orange you do also get the orange sat nav app pre installed which is also just as good, so a bit of choice. No where near the same standard as a proper tom tom or sat nav but does the job. Just be warned it drains the battery BIG TIME!
-
It has google maps built in, but that needs a data connection so useless overseas unless somebody else is paying. There are various other satnav apps (look in Android marketplace) of varying quality. I haven't tried any seriously yet, but Tomtom claims to be planning a release for Android.
-
-
my question is htc wildfire gsm or not because i use many sim cart can i use all sim is that possible thanks
-
Sorry I do not understand what you mean - I am Tmobile and the phone is locked to T-Mobile
-
-
Is this phone worth it despite the poor battery life and does the phone ever freeze or run slowly ?
-
It's a shame about the poor battery life-but the phone has so many other pluses that I have mentioned. I think it's worth it. I have had no problem with it running slowly and yes the screen did freeze once...few days after I bought it but no trouble since and I ve had it now for about 6 weeks
-
I use it mainly for phone calls and photos so it's a shame that the camera is so poor.
I think the reason the battery life seems poor is that I do tend to spend a lot of my work time in areas with little or no signal so the poor thing is constantly hunting for a signal!
So far it hasn't frozen on me.
I use a GPS app. to find relative altitudes and it hasn't let me down in that respect.
The camera is supposed to be 5 Meg but the lens is so poor it struggles to give me decent detail.
-
-
I have just bought this as a spare phone (it replaces a £15 pm contract phone) to replace a previous HTC phone. I am aware of the way HTC puts its own stamp on the operating system and hope that the interface is good and clean (as it appears). I know that there are many apps available but that google restricts access to the app market. Any limitations with downloads?
-
I haven't had any restrictions yet, and I've downloaded loads of various apps, from money / music / news / social networks / shopping. Hope that helps!
-
-
Does it have a stop watch
-
Yes, the clock app does include stopwatch functionality.
-
Yes it does
-
-
Hi how do I add a photo to a contact ??????
-
hi,
go to contacts, choose edit for that contact, then click on picture in top left hand corner, from here you can choose gallery, camera, phone or facebook pic for the contact picture.
hope this helps
steve -
take picture go to gallery .then camera shots highlight picture ,tap menu set as contact ,save
-
-
how loud can it play music? and when texting is there a keyboard option?
thanks-
Haven't tried the loudness of the music sorry just had it on low through earphones but the keyboard is the touch style on the screen, which you can set to either standard keyboard layout or alphabetically whichever suits. Hope this helps
-
-
is it a good phone
-
Yes it is a good phone - fairly easy to use - but the keys are small so I don't enjoy sending texts with it.
-
-
Does this phone have the UMA signal boost, and is it any good?
-
Yes it does. It does the job especially if you have bad signal in your house but its nothing special and its not worth getting the phone just for that.
-
Its not really worth it and doesn't boost signals very well in areas of really poor reception.
-
It does help but the signal is still very intermittent. If you turn off your mobile network it really helps with the phone signal.
-
-
Does this phone have the UMA signal boost, and is it any good?
-
Yes, it has got a signal boost. Unfortunately for me its not very good. I am very dissapointed with the battery life and even if I live in a good sgnal area i loose signal while on the phone lots of times. I never had this problem with any of my phones. The battery life is appaling I had a nokia 5800 express music before this one and its loads better than my new one...Hope that helped.
-
Yes it does. It is useful, especially if you live rurally with no signal but Wi-Fi access.
-
-
would u get free internet and would u get it with no som
-
the Htc can be set up to locate any available wifi signal first , if there isnt any then you will need 3g for internet - which is included in my monthly package
-
-
Hi is this easy to set up and use, as i have the nokia 5230! and i have always had a nokia, not sure on the company HTC? Any replys please would be a help.
-
I went from a Nokia to HTC and found it very easy. It comes with only a basic user guide - no instruction booklet! - but it helps you set-up and then you can explore it all yourself no problem
-
-
IS IT LIGHT AND DOES IT HAVE GOOD BATTERY LIFE FOR ANY OF YOU?
-
It weighs just over 100g and is appropriate for it's size. As long as you don't have the wireless/3g constantly on the battery life is ok. Though I would also recommend you use the auto settings for the brightness.
-
It's quite simple really, my old phone would last a week without a charge. It allowed me to use it as a phone and camera etc. The wildfire which is a good phone only lasts for two days using the same functions. the use of the internet degrades the use by 50%. Why not have a bigger battery ?
-
The battery lasts about two days but I don't really find that a problem. It is such a good phone and I am told that most smart phones have the same problem with battery life
-
-
IS IT LIGHT AND DOES IT HAVE GOOD BATTERY LIFE FOR ANY OF YOU?
-
hi, the htc wildfire-s is light slim and good quality it fits into the pocket or handbag snug, its just the battery that lets it down when yr browsing internet etc you just have to get into the habit of re-charging every night its my first smart phone i struggled at first but have got used to it theres so much to play with ive probaly not even scratched the surface on the whole a nice phone to have if you can live with the battery
-
I carry mine in my shirt pocket and don't know it's there most of the time.
Battery ain't great but if you turn off everything you're not using, you'll get a couple of days.If you use GPS and camera a lot you'll be lucky to get a day. -
Very light, battery life is not great but not bad. I can get a couple of days light use out of it. This is for the Wildfire S, the new one, reevoo seems to have the two confused.
-
-
can the size of the text be adjusted up? my eyes aint what they were!
-
Double tap on screen, or expand the screen with your fingers, although l am not a expert.
-
No the font size was a problem for me, the keyboard is better when phone sideways for typing.
-
yes it can in the message section go to settings and text size I had the same problem so increased my text size
-
-
How many GBs has the wildfire got altogether?
-
Do you mean gigabytes? The phone comes with a 2Gb card!
-
I think it's got 512MB internal storage, but comes with a 2GB memory card (that can be changed for a bigger one). The phone gives you the option on moving stuff onto the SD card to free up space too.
-
-
im lookin 2 buy one does it hav satnav,f,book, msn, skype, email and can u get it in white
-
Yes you can get it in white it has FB, msn, satnav, email etc. not sure about skype I havent looked for it
-
yes you can get all of the above plus skype you have to download all of them hope it helps
-
-
could anyone tell me the size of the keys when texting as I have podgy fingers and won't get on well with really small keys Ie blackberry ones
-
if the phone is help upright they are pretty small but if you turn the phone on its side they become much larger, and very easy to use.
-
i find they are quite small to use and i have quite slender fingers, but if you can use the qwerty keyboard then it is a bit bigger
-
-
I am about to buy the Wildfire S and have 250 mg each month on my contract. There hasn't been a lot of discussion about data usage. There seem to be conflicting forums about this. Some say you have to switch just about everything off to preserve your data usage and not go over your limit which seems pointless in getting a smart phone if this is the case but my son and my boss say they leave theirs on all the time and don't use much data at all! I would like to be able to check Facebook during the day but would use WiFi at home. Help!
-
Hi. This phone allows you to move icons around, and I have both wi-fi and mobile internet icons on my home screen making it really easy to switch on/off whenever I want. I think most high data usage comes from downloads and things like YouTube rather than general browsing. If u are only using for a few pages each day, I doubt you have much cause for concern.
-
Just to add, I checked my last bill and only used approx 68mb data in last month. This included being away from home for 3.5 weeks where I only used my mobile internet. I probably spent about an hour each day checking email and news pages.
-
-
can you go on the internet?
-
Yes, when I'm connected to wi-fi. I've linked the phone to my home hub and can also use it at wi-fi hot spots in cafes etc.
-
Mine also works fine on a wi-fi connection.
-
-
how many camera settings is there
-
I honestly don't know. I very rarely use the camera and when I do it's just point and shoot.
-
Probably more than you need – posterize, sepia, negative, aqua … and quite a decent zoom
-
-
this phone has wireless
-
yes i use it all the time you need to connect to your own wireless first
-
yes it has wireless, and very easy to connect it to other wireless devices.
easy to use
-
-
Hi this question is about the HTC Wildfire S.
Does it still have the friends stream page when it is on orange or not? and what has the orange operating system change if anything.-
Don't know about the OS. But it has the friend stream page.
-
Don't know about the OS. But it has the friend stream page.
-
Yes it does. There's no such thing as an orange operating system, as far as I know - it's just Android.
-
-
Hi
Do you get any form of memory card with the phone when you receive it from Orange?? Thinking of upgrading from nokia x6-
when I got the phone from Tesco it was with a vodafone card and I unlocked it and put it on my T-mobile account. Don't really know anything about Orange but would think it must have.
-
-
Hi, can you put your own message alert tones on this phone?
-
If you mean can you import your own message sound , then yes, I believe you can. I believe you cannot have different message alert sounds for different people. You can, of course, set different ringtones for different people. Is that what you meant?

Hello, I haven't put any message alerts on yet but try the following link as they seem to know what they're talking about. Good luck.

I am not sure to be honest as I am still learning all the functions on the phone.
-
-
I think of buying this phone but I don't know should I buy from Tesco mobile or Vadafone?
-
I was lucky enough to buy whilst Tesco direct had a 2 for 1 promotion on vouchers and have used my previous SIM card which was set up for Vodaphone pay as you go.
Guess for you it depends on the relative rates you get from each compared to your useage.
Vodaphone is fine for me. -
I went with Tesco on Pay As You Go as they had the best offer (Triple credit). The phone is great but check who has the best deal!
-
-
Where you can buy cheaply but good HTC phone accsesories?
-
amazon
-
-
i am getting a htc or a blackberry for my birthday and i want to know which one is best. how big is the htc wildfire and does anyone have the htc wildfire in white from tesco mobile???? and if u did what website did u get it on?? thanks x
-
Hi I have both HTC Wildfire and BlackBerry Torch 9810.
HTC is much smaller and lighter.
I got my HTC Wildfire from www.T-mobile.co.uk at very good price.
My friend has a white HTC wildfire and to be honest it looks quite good, but i wouldnt get it myself.
I like HTC much much much more! Keep having problems with my BlackBerry and its quite difficult to use - not like HTC so simple.
Even though I have both I use HTC as my main phone.
Hope that helps.
-
-
can you view text conversations or just view sent and received texts??
-
yes
-
-
Can you do picture messages with this phone?
-
yes
-
Yes
-
Yes and very good they are too.
-
-
Stupid question probably - but, once I have downloaded an app such as sat nav, do i need to be connected to the internet to use it? I know I can use free wi-fi at home.
-
Yes you will definitely need an internet connection. If you haven't got a free allowance with your phone contract package ,you may be able to buy a 3G data bundle from your mobile phone network provider. My Tesco /02 provider charges £4 per week. You will find that most of the the other apps won't need an internet connection, but Sat Nav definitely does. Regards,
-
-
hey im getting this phone but after reading the reviews im not sure now if im going to like it!! the fact the say about the sound that u cant hear msgs and that the touch screen for txtin isnt that good!! really not sure about this phone now!!
-
I have had my HTC Wildfire for about 7 months now. I am about to sell it on ebay as I have found a few things that I don't like about it. Also I have just bought a tablet and no longer need to strain with the small screen to surf the net when I am away from my pc. I found the same with messages I had to download a proper loud Nokia alert . Unless you have tiny fingers texting won't be easy. I found it difficult answering the phone and would touch the wrong part of the screen and loose the call. I hope I haven't put you off too much. Regards,
-
-
when texting, is it like the iphone and backberry where u can see ur conversation whilst u r texting???
-
Yes. You can see your conversation still and the messages that you've been sending and been sent.
-
yes it is
-
-
what does the middle button do on the wildfire??? thanks
-
you can scroll with it like a mouse and press it to take photos.
-
-
Hi, can you customise this phone with your own ringtones and text alerts with your own tunes?
-
Yes, just start playing a song and you should have a set as ringtone option somewhere under the menu button.
-
-
What features does the HTC Wildfire have
-
Lots! I very good touch screen and good predictive text. Internet, wi-fi, email and lots of apps come with it (weather, maps). Some of them you need a google account for, but that's easy to set-up. you can also add you-tube, put your music on it etc
-
wifi, whole load of apps available on android market for facebook etc, good touch screen, bluetooth etc etc... for full list just google 'htc wildfire features' or look on any phone suppliers site.
-
I agree with everything both Eleanor and Martin have said I'm very happy with my phone and its apps.
-
-
Can you host wifi hotspots on it, and what comes in the box? Thanks for your time.
-
Yes it can be used as a wifi hotspot, and the box contained handset, battery, charger, USB cable, 2GB microSD card (already in the handset) and your user manual.
-
The answer above is correct. Be aware that when using wifi, battery consumption is huge.
-
-
does it come with youtube? If not how can i get it?
-
Yes it comes with the YouTube App pre-installed. If the YouTube App won't work, it also works in the internet browser.
-
-
I was thinking about getting this phone but apparently HTCs can get hacked really easily ? I'm not using it for things like Facebook or Twitter but I will probably be reading emails on it and browsing the web.
-
Sorry, I do not use my HTC for either Facebook or Twitter, I brows the web with it and I have had no problem with that, sorry I can not be of more assistance.
-
-
is there a stylus pen for the touchscreen or is it easily operated with finger tips please
-
There is no stylus but the touchscreen is easily operated with finger tips. The screen is one of the best touchscreens I have used.
-
I find the touchscreen very easy to use. I have a screen guard also and it is still miles better than any other touchscreen phone I have owned. Also, I don't believe there is a stylus for it.
-
just finger tips as far as i know. i have had major problems with customer service tho ref:@ repairs. will never get one again.
-
-
What sort of case would you reccomend to protect it, or is it fine without one?
-
I got a fancy case that fits on the back and a screensaver, no problems so far
-
I haven't got a case, doesn't need it
-
-
Does the processor work well?
-
Now there you have me, I don't know what a processor is. I am new to a touch-screen 'phone and am still learning the basics.
-
-
is it unlocked
-
Yes and No. Buy it at The Carphone Warehouse or at Phones4U, then yes, it's unlocked. Buy it at a network store (eg. O2, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile or Three), then it's locked to the network.
-
-
Does the phone have Wi-Fi connectivity?
-
Yes, it does
-
YES
-
-
can you upload pictures to facebook straight from it????
-
Yes, very simply to do.
-
Never tried it myself, but yes you can...generally sharing photos from it to anywhere is very simple.
-
htc has an application called app share
you can share all your photo and application example game with another htc phone oner
it is briliant
-
yes you do very easy i have more than 5 pic up loaded and it takes no time at all you don't need to resize or change anythink
to confirm i will do on now and give you instruction
open face book go to photo
you will get a list upload
-photo
-video
choose from gallary
and select
done
-
-
I tend to use my current phone alot during the day, mostly for texting though. I was just wondering about the battery life of the HTC wildfire if you use it throughout the day?
-
If you are looking for good battery life, DON'T choose the HTC Wildfire.
-
Yeah the battery lasts well throughout the day if your only texting.
-
Battery life is terrible. I use mine all day for everything and have to charge it all night.
-
-
Right know I am on Orange, and I was wondering if I could keep my old mobile number and I was thinking about getting the HTC wildfire
-
Mines on Orange as its the best covereage in the South West especially on Dartmoor. Well recommended and far better than the wifes iphone. Best of luck
-
I love my HTC wildfire. Would not change it and have never felt like that with a phone before. Also my husband has iphone and I get better coverage and 3G with my HTC.
-
-
hi, is it easy to download from "htc hub" and can you download songs to use as message alert tones? thanks.
-
Sorry, I haven't tried so not sure.
-
You can download songs to use as message alerts, yes. You can't use 'HTC Hub' on this particular phone though.
-
-
Can you upload videos to youtube from it?
-
Hi Hannah, there is a U tube link in the Apps so I would think you can, not used it myself but if you go into Apps, scroll to U tube select, then accept the terms there is an icon at the top which shows a video camera, give that a try. Hope it works ! Let me know if you can. Kind regards, Dave
-
Hey Hannah, yes you can upload You Tube videos, use the instructions which Dave gave you, and in the left hand corner there is a little search icon. Hope you get it sorted xx
-
sorry forgot to add, if you press play then pause straight away, leave the line to go a light red all the way acroos to let it load, then it wont keep stopping and starting!!! If that makes sense lol. good luck xx
-
after taking any video or pictures you can press the share option. This allows you to forward your pictures to most social networking sites such as Facebook, flicker you tube etc. its very easy to use.
-
-
HI, IMSTILL HAVING DIFFICULTY TRYING TO PUT MY OWN SONGS/TUNES FOR MY MESSAGE ALERTS, ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED.
-
I haven't bothered so can't advise
-
-
If you buy a htc wildfire on orange and unlock it to 3 network can you still use internet
-
according to Orange yes, however, have not had mine unlocked
-
I see no reason why not, although I haven't tried it!
-
-
hi i want to get a htc phone as i heard they are good , was wonder would anyone recomend this phone ? =D
jessica-
It's a decent phone. The only real negative is the battery life as you'll need to charge the phone daily
-
It is a good phone, easy to use once you get used to it, and the battery life depends what you're doing with it, if you're on the internet a lot (or play a lot of Angry Birds like I do haha) then you will probably need to charge it every night, however, just with normal call and text useage, you'll get about 3 days off a charge. I'd recommend the phone as it looks stylish and is easy to use with good sound quality for playing music/videos etc.
-
-
what if you have a problem texting because of the small keys, could you change the lay out to be like a ordinary phone?
-
no
-
No, but the keys are bigger when you turn the phone to landscape.
-
-
what if you have a problem texting because of the small keys, could you change the lay out to be like a ordinary phone?
-
Yes. You can download lots of different keyboard apps off the Android market.
-
-
Does it support Chinese language input? I want a handset which allows me to text messages in Chinese when I visit my parents in China.
-
My HTC Wildfire was stolen a month after I had purchased it. But I believe you can change the language to Chinese in the settings menu. You could then change it back to English when you return. It would be a good idea to check with the help and support group at
http://www.htc.com/uk/help/htc-wildfire-s/
Overall it is a lovely phone. Loads of free apps in the Android Market too, which save you loads of money. I was quite upset to lose mine. Good luck with whatever you choose.
-
-
Im hoping to get this phone for xmas and really wanted the white 1 and my parents have got me the black would you say the black 1 is nice ? And is the battery really bad :/
-
The black one is nice, the battery tends to last a couple of days which is bad for me as my last phone only needed charging once a week. Hope this helps
-
-
Im Hoping To Get this phone for xmas and i was wondering can you get the chat thingy when you have speech bubbles for text ? And is the battery good ? And can you get a code so you can only get in the phone if you know the code ? x Thanks x And is the black one nice ? x
-
I don't know anything about a 'chat thingy'; you can lock the phone with a PIN; the battery is very poor and I would not recommend the phone for that reason. When you consider any phone disregard the suppliers estimate of the battery life and check on the web for independent reviews.
-
very poor battery life, yes re pin. Personally the phone is OK but would go for somethingelse
-
-
What colour should I get this on because It looks so beautiful but I cant choose, also what network is best recommended?
-
Black, & I like orange network
-
I opted for black and then bought a gel case which is great because you can basically opt for any gel case colour, usually about £3. I'm on Orange, coverage is getting better......
-
Funny, I'm on orange too, despite the poor coverage in rural areas compared to say O2. And have been looking for a case with a front to protect the screen, not found one yet...
-
-
Other than network coverage being good on Orange, Is it worth it to get it on orange regarding on the internet or should I get it On T-Mobile and top up £20 for 6 months free internet?
or o2
I dont want 3!-
Im on tesco mobile, which piggy backs on O2 n pay £10 per month. £20 for 6 months is great
-
-
Does the HTC wildfire have an MP3 player, or does it allow music to be uploaded and played in any other way ? also is the phone able to be connected to computer/tv?
-
Yes comes with basic mp3 player and you can install a choice of others from Android Market. Connects to pc as an external hard drive through usb. Connectivity to tv probably depends on tv more than the mobile.
-
-
Is it any good for games and how is it compared to the sensation XL
-
Yes, most games play really well with good graphics, sound and gameplay.
Cannot answer second part, as I have no comparision with sensation XL
-
-
I did not get a case in my box and the instructions are very limited not easy to follow is there a manual version better than the one inc in the box. I am finding it hard at the moment had it 5 weeks.
-
I went on you tube which is good you get to see them use it. Hope this helps. look on their website too
-
you have buy a case thay are very cheep on ebay
trust me they are very good phones just keep trying
-
-
Hey :)
Can you turn predictive text off?
Can you do threaded messaging/im?
How good is the facebook messaging app?
Which company is best to get it on?
Even if you can't answer all four questions, atleast answer what you can please!
I really want this phone, but I'm just making sure. :3-
Can you turn predictive text off?
I just had a look and couldn't see how to turn the predictive text off but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
Can you do threaded messaging/im?
Yes
How good is the facebook messaging app?
I use FB quite a lot, however due to how I have my phone set up (screen shuts off if not used for a certain time) I am forever having to go through the site and back to the chat, sometimes the messages come through as chat and other times as an inbox message but that may not be due to the actual phone, it could be FB.
Which company is best to get it on?
I'm not sure, in hindsight I probably would have bought the phone outright from elsewhere rather than getting it free with the contract and maybe stayed with PAYG as there seems to be a lot of really good deals lately.
I hope this helps.
-
-
is the updated version of this phone out yet? thanks
-
Hi - Don't know what the previous version was but the one i have received in November is aok save battery life of course!
-
Hello I do not have a wildfire I have a later model HTC Desire S which is a wonderfull phone
-
Hello, I'm not too sure if there is an updated version of this phone out or not. I just got this one in November also.
-
-
is it true that when it is going to rain window wipers come up ?
-
Hi , that doesn't happen on the wildfire but it does on my husbands desire s
-
-
What is the best plan to go with this phone?
-
I am with T Mobile I get free internet, unlimited texts and 100 minutes talk time for £15.32 per month. This plan offers everything I want. I could change to more talk time and less texts, but that would not suit my requirements. The phone is 'ace'.
-
-
Hi im thinking of getting this phone however the only thing that puts me of is the qwerty key pad can you change this to the standard key pad like other touch screen phones??
-
Hi.
Yes, you can change the keyboard settings so it is like a normal phone keyboard.
This phone was good in the beginning but it has started to play up. Both my friend and I are experiencing the same things - clicking on a message and another message coming up. It takes a long time to load an incoming message. The phone is quite slow in general and it lags a bit when playing games.
I still get by with it, and it's really good for the price but if you can afford to get something a bit better then I would consider getting a slightly better phone for the long run.
-
-
Looking for a new phone and cannot decide between this and the Galaxy Y. I've heard good things about this, and want to use it for every day type things, such as Facebook, light gaming, in the moment photos and reading on the internet. Will it do all those things in reasonable speed? Cause I've been looking for a new one since my old nokia died... how does it compare?
-
It does everything you mention really well, good speed and very easy to do these things. The only thing I will say is the htc camera is not very good at all, it really isnt a phone for decent pictures, so I would compare this before buying. If pictures arent a main thing for you then this phone is great, I have no other issues other than camera quality.
-
Think its an excellent all rounder phone. Good quality and quick enough on the internet.Recommended
-
-
How do I add music to this phone please??
-
You plug it into the computer then drag files from your computer into the music folder on the phone .
-
sorry dont know, i just use you tube
-
-
Could someone tell me what the difference is between the HTC Wildfire and the HTC Desire models please? I currently have a Nokia 5230 on PAYG( which keeps switching off) on Orange and looking at having one of the HTC's on a reasonable monthly contract with another provider. I would use it for regular texts, just occasional calls, taking some pics, emails and Facebook. Thanks for your help.
-
not much difference in htc phones the htc cha cha is great for facebook htc are android phones great for apps
-
-
Hi, do HTC charge for internet service seperately to orange, as is the case with Blackberry? Blackberry charge £5/month on top of my orange plan.
-
no your internet access is included with your package from orange, but you can also connect using wireless to a router, doing it this way does not use any of your monthly data allowance, i hope this helps
-
-
There's loads of comments about the battery life and its putting me off but i dont use my phone LOADS so i dont know wether it would be a problem for me
-
Hello Maya, I don't make many calls either but I pretty much have to charge my phone every day. I am dreading going away on my boat for more than a week end as I will not be able to charge the phone unless I can plug in ashore.
-
Its my sons phone and he doesn't make many calls but does seem to plat with it a bit. He tends to charge it every other day
-
-
Is this still a good phone in the current marketplace as it has been around for a while ?
-
Hello Hatboy. To be honest this phone does what all the others do I find it easy to use it delivers a fast internet response e-mail and text and has a wide variety of Apps and is easy slim and light to carry I will be using mine for e-mail updates on the move that will give me more freedom away from the PC and it works well in remote areas. For the price this is up with the big boys I think it is better than the Blackberry and as good as an “I” phone.
-
Hi Hatboy, this is my first android phone and I am very impressed as it seems to work as well as my daughters HTC wildfire. Nice and easy to use, I have it synced with my pc so get all my emails wherever I am. Great little phone.
-
That should read my daughters HTC Desire..oops!
-
-
can the internet work any where without entering a password to access the internet thanx
-
I think so but not 100% sure.
-
-
Can I use it as a satellate navigator instead of my tom tom?
-
yes.thats what i do.it works really well.
-
I don't , it isn't as good as my tomtom
-
-
Two questions please:
I use predictive text but my Samsung drives me mad as it won't let me add words to the dictionary - does this?
Does it have a flashlight for the camera?
Thanks-
it's a yes to both these questions. Using predictive text on the wildfire, if you type a word that it does not recognise it simply highlights the word in question and
'places a "?" at the end. If you then touch the highlighted word it accepts this a permission to use the word in your current text and stores it in it's memory for future use. As for the camera, you can choose to turn the flash on/off or use the "auto" setting that lets the camera decide depending on the light hitting it's own light sensor. Hope this is helpful

i am thinking of bying this phone and i have quite big fingers. i am wondering is iteasy to text on and is it abit out of date to get one now as they are quite old ??
-
No,certainly not out of date and I have big fingers and find it very easy to text :-)
-
When I bought this phone I had already decided that using the screen keyboard might be difficult - in practice once you learn to type placing the ball of your finger on the key all goes quite well. The predictive text is more of a problem if you do not watch it & it may be choosing words for you that make a tweet goobledigook.
I did purchase a stylus from Amazon very cheaply and use one of those and I think this might be the solution for you.
-
-
Can the font be made bigger on this phone? I know on a HTC desire s it can be so I was wondering if this was the same.
-
yes
-
-
I have a particular spec list I'm thinking HTC MIGHT be able to fulfill, if anyone wouldn't mind answering the below...?
- - Receiving word, excel, powerpoint and other docs, opening, editing and re-sending via e-mail
- Sync to e-mails on gmail, hotmail and mac (imap account)
- Sync and automatic update to mobileme calendar plus reminder alarms
- Having several browsers open simultaneously
- Taking a pic and uploading straight to e-mail, website, facebook or saving to phone
- Recording a film and uploading straight to e-mail, website, facebook or saving to phone
- Twitter and facebook updates through messaging - basically an update coming in as a text
- Reading google docs
- Download free/cheap music and have multiple playlists like an ipod
- 'person' list with updates on them (similar to the Nokia Lumia) rather than just contacts
- 3G and wifi - basically internet anywhere and everywhere
- 300 mins max
- 1000 texts
- medium internet usage (prob
- speakers and earphones (ports)
- USB port/equivalent
- satnav for walking and driving
- post-it notes or word pad
- dictaphone-
i think it may be upto that job

could you please tell me how l can make fonts larger on my htc wildfire
-
Why not ask the HTC people on the UK website http://www.htc.com/uk/help/htc-wildfire-s/
-
To change the font size, from home screen please press All apps > Mail then select the appropriate mail you would like to access. Next, press Menu > More > Settings > General Settings > Font size then select from the list.
-
-
how do l change my keyboard to standard keyboard
-
Hi Clifford,
The following is from the online manual and hope it helps. I have also copied the link to the manual, which is very good.
1. From the Home screen, press menu button (3 parallel lines), and then tap Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input.
2. Tap Keyboard types, and then select the keyboard layout that you want to use.
Choose one from the following:
Standard This layout is similar to a desktop computer keyboard. This is the
default keyboard layout.
Phone This layout resembles the traditional mobile phone keypad.
Compact This layout features two letters on each key. The key size is slightly
bigger than on the Standard layout.

it a easy phone to work, couse my cousin got one and they seem really good. but then people also say that the phone is east to brake?
-
The phone seems very easy to use. No idea if it's easy to break, because my one hasn't! It seems pretty solid and well made, I'd recommend it if you can't afford an iphone definitely.
-
Phone seems pretty solid to me. It is easy to use would recommend it.
-
-
How easy to get music onto this phone? And can music be used for tones? Does this phone use flash player?
-
Hi
The phone uses flash player (games, youtube etc all run well). It also plays mp3s well. You can use music for tones. -
music can be downloaded to your phone using your computer and the 'HTC sync' when you have the music on your phone, press the menu button it will ask you whether you want to use it as a ring tone and whether you would like to use it as a general tone or for an individual contact.
-
-
Can you change the writing / text on this phone ????
-
You can change the font size.
I don't think you can change the font of the text though, I have never really looked as I am happy with the preset font. :)
-

-
-
is the battery life really that bad ?
-
When new it was awful, less than a day, but it does get better. What we have found is that if we charge it using the laptop connection via the USB cable it will last longer than when using the mains charger. The difference being 2 days instead of 1-1/2 days.
The only reason I can think of is the USB trickle charges the battery (it takes longer to charge).
Having said that the phone itself is very good - brilliant camera and video. -
yes it it slower, with other phones i had, htc is power mad, every 2nd day, i charge mine. but if they made battery better, i would get another one.
-
-
does it have a flashlight
-
Yes.............it's a preloaded App called "Flashlight"

-
Does the phone work well with Sky Go please?
-
no
-

I can easily charge it ever night-
