- Good points:
- Great fridge, very stylish, looks great in our kitchen and the capacity is good too, I love all the various shelves in the doors.
- Bad points:
- Freezer is a little cumbersome, I love the drawers however the internal drawers can be a bit sticky. Also in terms of capacity it doesn't match the fridge and would suit either a couple or a family that don't have masses of frozen food.

Manufacturer's Description
Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Hotpoint Quadrio FF4D
-
I am thinking about purchasing a FFD4K and although the reviews on this site are excellent I have read other reviews that say there is a problem with a wire in the door that shorts the electrics out and it is dangerous, have you come across this problem as there seems to be a lot of people who have and I am worried that I am going to spend a large amount of money on a fridge freezer that could be potentially dangerous, I look forward to your reply
-
No problems, as yet!
-
i have not yet crossed this problem. i would be looking to hotpoint, if there is a potential problem with wiring and would expect hotpoint if there is a fault to let people know. ican only reiterate that at this time i am happy with the appliance
-
No problems at all so far! We love the fridge freezer as the split door gives us extra room in the small space it occupies. The only complaint is it shouts at me if I leave the door open, which is a good thing really! I still recommebd it 100%
-
-
Can beer cans fit in the can dispenser thingy? :)
-
yes, but you can only put small 4x330mls cans in not 440mls or 500mls.
you can put 4x coke or4x pepsi -
only coke size cans fit
-
-
is the ice dispenser which it lists as "manual" just an ice cube tray or a decent dispenser?
-
Hi its a normal ice cube tray but has tray below it and a dial that you twist to release cubes into this tray. We have found this to be a very good, spacious and modern fridge-freezer.
-
As the answer above says, the dispenser is really useful and compact. It doesn't compromise the freezer space. We are still very impressed with the fridge freezer.
-
-
How long have you had the fridge freezer for? I am concerned like the first person to ask a question at the top about the wire by the door? Apparently its happened to people around the 12 months stage, the door eventually cuts through the wire and some other problems have been noted... Anyone had it longer than 12 months?? Thanks :)
-
Hi, we have had this fridge freezer for about 12 months now and no such problem. Item is great for size and looks great too.
-
I've only had it about 9 months. I haven't noticed a wire but will have a look when I get home! I am really pleased with the fridge though so far.
-
-
this may sound stupid but... do you need to have the fridge freezer plumbed in properly so the ice dispenser works?? or is a case of once plugged into mains everything works and no need to have it plumbed into the wter supply?? as ive looked at the fridge frrezers that have ice makers and was going to purchase one but then was told you need to have them plumbed in due to water for the ice maker to stay full
-
The ice maker is filled manually, ie you pour water in from the tap. I chose one which did not need to be plumbed in as my plumbing is on the 'wrong' side of the kitchen. It is just a couple of dozen ice cubes which you release into a tray by twisting a dial.
I am pleased with the appliance overall, I just wish my son would stop leaving empty yoghurt packing in it.:) -
mine is not plumbed in
fill ice tray manually
-
-
What is the total width ,I have space for 700 just.
-
The total width is 720mm
-
-
I have orderd a Hotpoint FF4Dk I have read it is 70cm wide why have I been told I need 80cm to get it through the door is it the packaging as my entrance is a bit tight
-
The delivery men removed the packing from mine and it fitted through the door, although you need to tip it back to get it under the doorway.
Hope this helps. -
i had to have my front door taken off as they would not unpack item my door width was 72cm
-
-
Is this fridge freezer actually dual-thermostat controlled? I need it for a cold, unheated room.
-
Sorry, i'm not very technical but I think it is. There are two controls at the top of the fridge - one for the fridge and one for the freezer. I keep mine in a room that is freezing in winter and hot in summer and so far no problems with it. Hope this helps,
-
You can change the temp on the freezer and fridge separately and they both have fast freeze cool settings. Cheers.
-
Yes dual thermostat controlled very impressed with item so far
-
-
do the doors of the fridge freezer come off i will have a problem getting it into the house
-
At 700 mm wide it will fit through a standard door, went through our back door OK.
-
-
the freezer drawers are they quite large in depth? for the kids frozen food and ice cream storage.
-
Yes, very different from standard freezers with four drawers in. Top is not very deep really and at a decent height for kids. Bottom on is probably 3 times the depth of a standard freezer drawer.
-
-
what are the width and the height of each of the fridge section doors?we are trying to figure if we have enough room when the doors opn,
-
Hi, I don't have a tape measure to hand but I would say the left door is about 30cm when open and the right hand door is about 40cm. Hope this helps. Either way it would suit a tight space much better than a single door.
Janet -
39cm x 104cm, but with the handles bear in mind they are quite thick, around 26cm draw/shelves to outside of handles. You also need to make sure any side walls are far enough away to allow the door to open fully, plus the fridge is recommended to stand away slightly from a rear wall. Very nice fridge though, we got it to replace a Smeg which kept breaking down and this is much better.
-
-
with 700mm wide , dose this includes door handle ,if not, how do you remove doors
-
Sorry the doors in the house as didn't fit through kitchen door frame with the kitchen door attached.
-
-
can you remove the shelves and drawers easily from the fridge?
-
Yes easy enough to remove or replace.
-
yes, they both remove easily to allow you to rearrange or to clean them.
-
-
is it exactly 700mm wide as the space where i would put the fridge freezer is 690mm!!
-
Hi,
Have you also taken opening the doors in to account? With the doors open it adds a good 4-6inches to the width
thanks -
It is exactly 700mm and you definitely need the space for opening doors as well.
-
-
Hi
We are considering the Quadrio for our new kitchen. Only problem it has to go up against a wall on the right hand side, would there be enough room for the door to open or does it open outside its width(if that makes sense).-
Hi there, ours is against wall on left hand side and the doors open flush with main casing. The only difficulty with it being against wall is changing shelves around should you want to. !
-
-
I am looking at this product but need to know measurements. I understand the overall height but how does that breakdown to fridge door and freezer door - just worried about worktop
-
saw all measurements on the website, not sure about weight and will not fit on a worktop.
It is the height and width of an average doorframe. -
It is one unit and does not breakdown, the overall height is the height. It's taller than me and I'm 6ft.
-
-
I know the width is 700mm but can someone tell me the width with the doors open? I went to the store to meausre this up for myself today but they didn't have it in store.
Thanks-
It's about 110mm wide with other doors wide open.

-
i hope all good, want to get this iteam but i stay 3 up, was worried it might be to heavy to get deliverd, has anyone who stay more than ground level got one deliverd ?
-
Its rather large in its packaging and is heavy. A service lift would be ideal.
-
-
I have just had a new kitchen fitted and they have left me with a 78cm space for this fridge freezer but having read other reviews I'm worried this won't be big enough? Can someone put my mind at rest as I really like this fridge freezer. Thank you
-
That should be fine. If I remember rightly the fridge is 70cm wide so you shouldn't have a problem. I had a 70cm gap and had to take an inch of kitchen side. It would fit but was to tight. Also don't forget to measure you front door and any other smaller places or doors the fridge needs to pass to get into kitchen! Hope this helps
-
It depends where the Walls are as you might struggle to open the doors.
-
If you are fitting it into a gap and not adjacent to a wall it will be ok, because it has two doors, the negative is that the freezer compartment is relatively small for the size of the unit.
-
-
I am looking to buy thi fridge next week, the problem I have my fridge space is next to a wall by the kitchen door. the door is situated on the opposit side which is ideal but will it affect the opening of the door as the space backs upto side wall?
-
Hi,
well the doors need to open fully to get the best out of the fridge but you will need a few inches gap at least as the handles stick out and they will hit the wall when you open each door.
-
-
Is the depth from front to the rear really 74cm, seems very deep as standard depth of kitchen cupboards is 60cm.
-
Not home to measure right now, but yes it is very deep... and it also has to stand away from back wall a little for air circulation, so I wouldn't recommend if you are tight on space. Great fridge though if you can fit it in.
-
-
Could you advise if the doors open within the 70cm of the fridge's width or open wider than the fridge's advertised 70cm width?
-
They open within the 70 cm width, you can open the righthand door first and then the lefthand door to reach anything tht you cannon get with just the one door open.
-
The doors swing over 90 degrees and give a gap of 110cm . You can actually open just the left door.. it does have a mechanism that makes sure both doors are sitting correctly whichever way you open or close them. This means if you know where something is you can just open that door. A little difference to running costs in the long term. We have been very pleased with ours. Hope this helps.

-
My kitchen is on the first floor. To get the appliance up the flight of stairs it would have to negotiate a gap of 65cm between the bottom newell post and the adjacent wall. If the doors and drawers could be easily removed then it should be slim enough to fit through this obstacle. Does anyone know how easy it would be to temporarily remove the main fridge doors and freezer drawers?
-
Cirrus removed the doors to get the appliance through my hall to access my kitchen, well worth the effort as it's great !
-
You can pull the freezer drawers out but not sure about the fridge ones. Great appliance though!
-
had to take my front entrance door off to get mine in , good luck great f/freezer
-
-
Is there a twist and serve ice tray with this model.
-
yes there is. its a good buy , freezer not as big as i thought but refrigerator is reeally spacious.
-
-
hi i was looking at buying a refurbished one but cant find a model no on it, was worried that it might be one of the old faulty ones, does anyone know if the gun metal one came out after these faults please? also if they have been fixed by hotpoint does that mean the fault wont happen again?
-
its strange because my one came out after this in gun metal and is slightly different looking but has a similar model number.I have not had a single problem with mine at all.in fact its the best fridge freezer i have ever had to be fair.well yet anyway.hope this helps
