- Good points:
- I bought this for my elderly mother who had trouble seeing the buttons on her old phone. The large buttons are ideal and the large screen is also good for her. The emergency button on the back is ideal for more frail at risk people.
- Bad points:
- Although it was easy to set up for my mum it took her a while to get to grips with it but that could just be her age. It is quite expensive as you can get cheaper phones with the same features.

- Good points:
- The doro phone is well designed for a simple, big buttoned phone, it is easy to set up for the services available.
- Bad points:
- Buying the phone from Orange meant that we were unable to use the mms function on the phone despite the actual manufacturer and other networks offering this service.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Doro PhoneEasy 410GSM
-
Can it be connected to a hands-free set in a car
-
Yes.
-
I can't improve on Linda's response. Except to repeat it.
-
-
My mum is 60+ has only ever owned nokias, how easy is this to use?
-
I am over 60 and wanted a phone that was just a phone and easy to use. It has a large screen and easy to use buttons which I find ideal. Because it is afold up model, the screen says clean and unscratched.
-
A very simple to use phone. Messages has an in/out and draft box. Predictive text is a bit basic as it will not guess a word always but other than that nice big letters and buttons. Everything about the phone is basic so I can't understand why the phone is so dear.
-
-
Does this phone have a decent camera and is it easy to access the internet?
-
There is no camera on this phone. We purchased it because hubby is registered blind so the screen is big and usable.....it is not a young persons phone in my opinion. Hope this helps
-
I don't want it for either of these. I have an ipad and I just wanted a simple phone which is robust, user friendly and easy to use. If you want a camera or internet it's not for you

Hi!
Can anyone tell me if the Doro PhoneEasy 410gsm is suitable for someone with hearing problems?-
It does have a volume button, so you're unlikely to miss a call. After which it would be simply a matter of asking the caller to "speak up" surely?
-
-
can you see who is calling before answering the phone?
-
You have to open the phone to see the screen which effectively answers the call (although, you can always shut it again if the call is unwelcome)
-
-
my dad has hearing problems can you turn up the volume of the person speaking on the other end of the phone?
-
I've never tried, but I think not.
-
Sorry don't use mine anymore, can't remember if you can put it on loudspeaker, would be worth you trying to find out if your dad likes the phone. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
-
my mum has the phone specifically because it has a very loud ring, she to is hard of hearing, but also it can be put onto loud speaker and you can increase the volume of the person on the other end. hope this helps.
-
-
Can this phone show texts in 'conversations' (threads)?
-
No it does not, only single messages
-
I'm sorry, I'm not sure about that, the texts are just normal as far as I know.
-
-
are the text clear and easy to read ,without your glasses on ..eye sight not to bad .do you miss the camera all the bits on the other phones,
-
Hello there,Text's are easy to read quit large lettering
There are times when you miss having the camera in your pocket & a few other things it is very basic
Regards Roy -
yes thats one reason i had this phone so i didnt have to keep changing my glasses to read texts when i was out and about. No i dont because i just use it for calls and texts
-
-
it says it has bluetooth?
-
Yes it has bluetooth.......Hubby is delighted with the phone
-
correct
-
correct
-
yes it says so , so far I have not been able to connect to my hands free car device.
-
-
im going to the usa will it work over there
-
Hi Pam,i'am assured it will work just as well in USA.
-
-
Where is the best place to get another copy of the user guide. Original mislaid.
-
Have you tried Ebay? I often get manuals etc from there, good luck.
-
Sorry but we have one with the phone, but i have to say that it easy to use ! if you have any specific problem let me know
-
Have you tried the Doro website?
-
-
Is it necessary to have the cradle for charging?
-
Hi No there is no need for the cradle when charging just plug in to the mains socket.
-
-
going to buy one for my hubby as it looks just right for him, my question is, is the screen light bright enough to see in the dark, as he needs good lighting, as going fishing for a week in france, so night time light is paramount ...... many thanks ;-)
-
Hi Eve
The screen on the phone is bright and the contrast is good. So he should be able to read it in the dark very well. The characters are big enough to be very visible
Regards
Rob Evans -
Hi Eve, Been on hols so late reply. I agree with Rob. I picked it because it was so simple, had a large screen and buttons. and did not have all the add-ons they have these days.

I am Deaf but wears digital hearing aids at the moment im struggling to find a phone that I can hear perfectly on the phone without any interfer3ence or trying to make an ajustment on my hearing aids although I already had several sony errisson, nokias, and Lg (got fed up with lg as it was touch phone so it keep touching on to my hearing aids.
Im wondering is this phone loud enuff to be compatible with digital hearing aids??? I dont really want to get it is I dont like it at all. I can see but cant hear very well, I really need a new phone as it very important for me while my daughter at school as she got a medical condition, so Im on the phone alot with the school
Thanks
-

-

-
sorry i have only bought my sim card from Orange so cannot tell you
-
If it is a sim free phone then yes. If not then you would need to get phone unlocked first
-
I used my orange sim as that is who I am with. I think you woud need to get it unlocked for another sim Sorry.
-
not sure , sorry
-
-
what is the difference between a Doro410 & a Doro 610 please? I am an octogenarian who has just purchase one(610) and am delighted with it , I can hear it -with or without hearing aids see it without specs-Hooray!!
-
Hello Pearl,
The main differance between your phone and mine is your phone has a lot more functions than mine. E.G.
One touch memory, optional display mode for visually impaired, adjustable text size, visible ring indicator, charging pod, tone control. My phone does have any of these., but it does have a couple of games.
Hope this helps.
-
-
Although the keys on the Doro look a good size and are printed in white I might struggle to see them to dial numbers in a dimly lit street at night. Can someone please tell me if the keypad is backlit? (lights up from behind the keys).
Thanks.-
Yes the key pad has a good back lighting system and is so good and easy to use, I know this isnt in the question but, the only draw back you will have from it is that it doesnt bluetooth to all hands free car kits
-
Yes the keypad illuminates brilliantly. I am 61 and have absolutely no problem dialling numbers or finding stored numbers at night.
-
-
I know it can't send picture messages but can this receive them? My mum for whom this is intended likes to receive picture messages of her grandchildren and so she'd need this facility.
-
sorry not sure on this aspect, perhaps a retailer of the phone could answer your question.
-
-
how can you check your balance on the doro pay as you go phone, i tried ringing 450 but that seems to be only if you want to top up, i just want to check the balance
-
You dial 453 from your handset to check your airtime balance
