- Good points:
- only such coffee machine I've seen with front loading. Coffee filter is easier to clean due to its shape
- Bad points:
- Lid does not seem to come off the pot, so it's difficult to balance on the drainer or put in dishwasher.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Delonghi ICM2B Filter Coffee Maker
-
CAN YOU TELL ME, WHAT TYPE OR KIND OF COFFEE i CAN USE.
MANY THANKS-
any ground coffee - we tend to use a stronger blend by any premium brand but it depends on your taste.
Also, we find Sainsbury's own blend is quite acceptable -
If you like decaff I suggest Lavazza; otherwise I buy Lidl's ground coffee (Arabica) and use a rounded measure per cup.
-
-
is it a permanent filter
-
Yes this coffee maker comes supplied with a permanent coffee filter.
Points of interest which you may also like to know are :
The neck of the carafe is quite narrow which makes cleaning a little awkward.
The cup graduation sizes on the carafe bear no relation to the size of the cup graduations on the water reservoir.
This machine does however keep your coffee at a very satisfactory temperature. -
Hi Patricia
Yes it is a permanent. Save buying paper filters and it is very easy to clean. The filter mesh is fine enough to make sure there is no "sludge" at the bottom of the jug.
-
-
Does the coffee maker have a timer?
-
No and it is not something I had considered. The hot plate stays on until it is switched off. The coffee carries on dripping into the pot for a couple of minutes after it has finished gurgling but you soon learn how long for.
-
no-but I'm not sure you really need a timer on a coffee perculator
-
never crossed my mind about timer. can't expect too many gadgets as price is sogood. coffee stays lovely and hot though.
-
-
DOES THIS MACHINE NEED FILTER PAPERS
-
No it comes with a removable filter that's washable after use.
-
No it has a removable filter which is washable.
I still prefer to use filter papers in addition to the washable filter but that is my personal choice. -
Nope. The built in filter does a great job and is very easy to clean.
-
-
is it greedy with the coffee to get a nice mug of coffee and what coffee do you use and what is its price
-
it's not greedy at all. at first i was putting in amount recommended but was too string for my taste. i use kenco standard ground. sorry can't remember price but £3 to 4 . hope this helps
-
I like strong coffee so use a heaped desert spoonful per cup measure. I use either Lavazza or Lidl coffee. Can't remember the exact price.
-
-
Do the thermostats normally go wrong just after the 12 month guarantee finishes like ours did?
-
I did not use my coffee maker for 12 months because of the plastic chemicals leaching into the water tank contaminated every cup of coffee,it did not disappear with use and could not be neutralised with bicarbonate of soda. i took the coffee maker to the local recycling centre where it could be turned into something more useful!
-
mines been fine up to now but only had it 3 or 4 months.

Jenny, Bolton Retired bookkeeper
Score 8.0/10It is also inexpensive and easy to clean.
Filter papers fit perfectly (although not stricly necessary).
Although the jug itself does not drip when pouring there are always drips from the condensation on the underside of the lid.
