- Good points:
- simple to use and affordable. taken as a camera that will capture social occasions and basic snaps you can't really go wrong for the money - although i would invest in rechargable batteries as recommended by canon.
- Bad points:
- short battery life. limited detail in blacks/darks colours. slight loss of colour accuracy overall. nothing in the extremes, however.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Canon Powershot A495
-
what sort of battery is needed for this camera
-
Just 2 AA batteries, they were included in the package.
-
2 AA Batteries, I use Duraccels
-
-
Can you use a Canon A495 on a tripod?
-
yip, thread size is A 1/4 i think. here are some compatibles:

hope that helps.

Is this camera good quality and can it print good photos in machine?
If not satisfied with the product, is their a returns policy?
If their is a problem with a can, could you resolve it by sending it away for repair?-
in answer to your latter two questions i'll probably avoid answering them - i think it's referred to as doing your homework. i also don't know what a can is... as for your first question it would depend on the printer used and also your expectations of a camera costing this little. as i mentioned in my brief review, darker tones aren't discriminated that well with this model - detail is somewhat lacking within dark areas. my advise would be to to do a little more research on cameras per se and decide from there.
-
This camera gives excellent pictures which print out quite satisfactorily from my computer.
I think there is a returns policy, bit I;m not sure
I have never sent a camera of this price away for repair, it is better to buy a new one -
This camera takes pretty good pics and prints out quite nice, even on my old epson.
-
-
can it take black and white photographs and are they good quality.
-
no and, therefore, no. hope that helps.
-
-
Does it print the date on the actual photo? Thanks
-
a sensible question at last... yes the camera optionally prints both date and time in various standard formats. hope that helps.
-
-
Is the casing metal or plastic?
-
metal
-
-
Is there much delay between pressing the button and the shutter operating? Is any delay dependant on battery strength?
-
there is a very slight delay, at most a couple of seconds, it is not dependant on the battery strength
-
Only a slight delay noticed, it is not dependant on the battery condition
-
-
Has it got a viewfinder as well as a screen? If not, do you know of a camera that has please? I find screens are often impossible to see in bright sunlight.
-
It does have a viewfinder as well as a screen
-
-
How long do the batteries last?
Thanks-
It depends on the battery value - I use rechargeable 2450 mAh - the smaller value batterie don't last long.
Camera tends to be power hungry when you zoom a lot/ flash a lot and use vidoe capture.
Hope this helps - get back to me if it is not what you are needing help with -
Hi,
Have not measured time but they are pretty good, I used one set on a weeks Norwegian cruise trip, 200 pictures plus viewing! I used Duracell AA's may pay to use rechargeables if you already have a charger!
Overall a very good value for money camera, has some features I was not expecting!
