- Good points:
- Im sure that if my printer had been in proper working order it would have been fine, it was easy to use and set up, reasonabley priced etc
- Bad points:
- Tthe colours are incredibly faded, I have not had time to go to curries for a refund or replacement yet. Print quality appauling, hugely upset and dissappointed, have tried everything I can think of to fix it. Also the user guide was completely useless.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Canon Pixma MP280
-
is it compatible with windows 7
-
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and checked the Canon website for compatibility. It is compatible, but you need to download the driver software from the Canon website and NOT from the disk supplied with the printer. Hope this helps, if not, please ask for more info.
-
-

-
Canon fine catridges Black B and color C
I dont know how much they are because they came with the printer

-
I wasn't aware it was memory card compatible and there aren't any slots on mine. I've just checked the Canon website and it says
Compatible Memory Cards : n/a
-
Itdoes not have a memory card
-
-

-
You can scan on it
But I dont know what you mean by a flatbed scanner -
yes
-
-

-

-
yes, no probs
-
-
Hi
I have just purchased this product for my father and very dissapointed there is no memory card slots, even though it clearly states on the description this is why i purchased.
Very dissapointed.-
It does not state there is a memory card slot on my leaflet, maybe it is another canon printer with this feature
-
-
Hi
Would i be able to connect this printer through a usb cable to a laptop? Would it work on a 11.6 notebook laptop-
sorry i dont know
,mine is through my home computer -
Yes, it is connected to my Toshiba laptop and prints fine. Sorry don't know anything about the notebook laptop, but cannot see why it would not connect, especially if it has a usb port.
-
-
Is this printer wireless?
-
no!
-
-
Does it come with the usb cable to connect with the computer/laptop?
-
No it doesn't. My existing printer cable would not work (old version) so I needed to buy a new Hi Speed USB Male to B Male cable, although I purchased this from Amazon, gold plated, delivered, for £3.99 at the end of 2010.
Hope this helps.
-
-
are the ink cartridges expensive - what do they cost?
-
You can get a pair on the Internet for about £20+ if you shop around. Or a black one alone for £10+, and a coloured one for £12+
-
-
Can you make black & white photocopies?
Have you had any problems with the scanner?-
yes to the first question and no to the 2nd question
-
1, dont know, not tried, 2, not so far.
-
-
Can you make black & white photocopies?
Have you had any problems with the scanner?-
Black and white copies - not sure what you mean. There are two buttons to press [black] or [colour], so yes you can copy something that is colour to black/greyscale only.
I had problems with the scanner because my USB cable was not new enough (it was very old). Changed to newer USB male to male cable (only £3.99) and then scanning was just fine. -
yes, you can make black and white photocopies, just put in another black cartridge. no i have had no problems with the scanner
-
-
When you say it uses ink quickly, how fast do you mean? (average no. sheets printed)
-
Hi. Only printed about 7 sheets and ink resevoir showed half full. So I'm looking for reasonable compatible cartridges.
-
It may have been that I have been running off a lot recently but about 300 sheets of A4 both sides.
I have just renewed my ink both black and colour
and we take note again but it does seem that
it is not going so quick as last time.
I will make note of it.
-
-
what does the ink cost for this printer
-
ive seen them on ebay for about £21 for the 2
-
The Ebay price is the best, at around £21 for the two, about £12ish for each
-
-
Two reviewers said thee cartridges needed replacing very quickly after purchase. Do you have this problem?
-
No, but I havent used it too much.
-
no they lasted quiet a while
-
-
hi i wana now if this ig a good deal so plz reply every one
-
Hi, indeed, for the price you pay its actually cheeper than the ink it has, and yet is also a scanner and copier, so sure a very good deal, and decent print photos it does! i have the older model, and now grabbed this new one.
-
Hi,
I bought the printer when it was £28. Not sure if it is still that price. But I would say that it is excellent value for money. -
Excellent deal. V good bit of kit for the money. No bells or whistles, bit slow & noisy but does the job for us with three school age kids. Ideal for homework stuff.
-
-
Does anyone no how much inks are?
-
you can get the colour and black inks on amazon around £11.99 to £14.99 each.
-
-
would it be compatible with my Apple Mac?
-
I am sorry but I do not know the answer to this , may be you could email cannon direct
-
Sorry, MS Windows PC
-
-
Hi will this product work with a samsung nc10 notebook
-
As far as I know, I would be surprised if not.
-
Sorry can't help. Am still using "gas fired " lap top. But the printer is up to dat so there is no reason why not.
Eileen -
Sorry, no idea
-
-
At the top of this page, Laura answered a question about drivers. Here's another one on the same subject.
Regarding Home Premium and Windows 7 drivers. Were there any problems or hiccups with either the download or the installation of the drivers?
Thanks-
No issues at all, and if needed the Canon website has an excellent support resource were any driver is available for all models and OS.
-
No none at all,
-
-
Is the paper tray at the back (vertical) or loaded from the front (horizontal)?
I need to put it on a shelf.-
The paper tray is at an angle of approx 45 deg. you would need about 6" behind the machine to accomodate it.
-
same answer as Denzil

Just bought this printer but am disappointed with the quality of the prints from photos. Colour very blurred and picture indistinct. Is there anything I can do about this?
-
Hi,
I haven't used the printer yet with photo paper and so sorry I can't help. -
I HAVE HAD VERY GOOD PRINTS FROM MY PRINTER, SO SUGGEST YOU CHECK THE CARTRIDGES.DO YOU HAVE NEW CARTRDGES ? IF NOT THAT MIGHT BE THE ANSWER AS THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN....GOOD LUCK !
-
-
Does this printer print right to the edge? My current printer leaves a white border on everything i print. i figured out it was my printer. I was hoping this one prints right to the edge of the paper with NO white border.
-
unfortunately not
-
I haven't tried it but the Manual mentions borderless printing as an option on certain outputs.
-
I haven't tried it yet but I will now that you've brought the subject up.
-
-
