- Small lightweight and compact, easy to use, good battery life & display of remaining charge time, sharp and clear outside picture quality.
- Bad points:
- Far too many settings and features makes this more complicated than it needs to be for the casual user, time and patience is required to try out all the settings and choose which is right for you, ie 25fps, 50i, cinema mode (which didn't look any different to me) plus what sort of flourescent light you might be filming under, face recognition and loads more tech stuff - is all that really necessary?

Easy movie montages
Video Snapshot mode makes it incredibly easy to create movies for sharing. Each time the Record button is pressed, a 4 second clip is captured. Simply add your clips to a playlist, select a soundtrack, and you’re instantly ready to watch your movie on a TV – no need for editing. Five rights-free tracks are pre-loaded onto the camcorder: you can also add your own music using the Music Transfer Utility.
Ready to go
With Quick Start and Pre REC you’re always ready. From Standby, opening the LCD screen powers up the camcorder in around a second. Pre REC continuously stores 3 seconds of footage while the camcorder is on: once you press Record, you also capture the preceding 3 seconds of action.
Creative options
The LEGRIA HF20 supports the expanded colour space of x.v.Color. When movies are played back on a compatible HD TV, colours look deep and rich. 25p Cinema Mode gives your movies the traditional look of film and offers improved low-light shooting.
Photo options
Shoot high resolution 3.3MP photos. Or, in Dual Shot mode, capture 2MP stills at any time during video recording without changing modes – controls are set to automatic to make it easy. Photo Burst grabs 25 stills from a second of recorded footage.
Sounding good
Record superior audio via a microphone input and monitor levels via the headphone jack. Manual audio control offers even more options.
Software
PIXELA™ software comes supplied – perfect for editing and sharing your movies. Alternatively, easily burn a DVD using the DW-100 DVD Burner (available separately).
