Frances, Newcastle Point & shoot

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Such an amazing camera, well worth spending a bit extra for the Cannon quality. This is an excellent camera that is easy to use and the pictures are fantastic. I was amazed at how clear the screen was, even in bright light. I have mostly used the 'auto' mode which reacts quickly and works well in different lights.

Dani, Keen amateur

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
very slick and really tiny, lots of features, easy to use, a tiny widget that fits easily into your pocket
Bad points:
battery life is pretty good, not as long as I had hoped for though, it took a while to figure out just how much the camera can do- but this is without reading the instructions, in the end, all quite self explanatory

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Canon Ixus 130

  1. Does the camera come with a battery, or do you have to buy one separately? x
    Celline asked on
    1. Yes it does. Box contains camera, battery, charger, AV lead. package does NOT include case (to maximise pocketability, get a soft cloth pouch instead), memory card (2Mb at least - cheap these days). Get a screen protector soon as it comes out of d box.
      Nik replied on

  2. what is the warranty on this item. Would you recomed this camera
    Jo asked on
    1. Standard 1-yr warranty with small prints (as usual). I bought d camera for my wife but dont mind havg one for quick snaps myself (handy size n chique design). Its main appeal is size n weight and design and pix quality is better than most in its class. If features are what you are looking for then go for others (usually buyers want it all but use only point and shoot). If u are a serious amateur, go for 495, G12, that new olympus or lumix LX.
      Nik replied on

  3. Can I know its made?
    humair asked on
    1. I'm sorry I cannot comprehend yr question. If u mean d make, its Canon. If u mean how d results are its excellent within its limitations. U don't compare ths type of camera with likes of LX or G-series.
      Nik replied on

  4. does this have the color picker so u can make that color stand out and the rest is black and white, if so is it any good?
    Jo asked on
    1. I'm not aware of any colour-picking ability ond camera but this can also be achieved during the processing.
      Nik replied on

  5. Can you tell me how well this camera performs when taking pictures of moving objects such as trains or buses please?

    Thank you.
    Alexander asked on
    1. I haven't taken many pictures of moving objects. Though taking pictures of my nephew playing catch came out just fine.
      Florence replied on

  6. Hi
    is this a touch screen.
    thanks
    sharon asked on
    1. Nope its x a touch screen. Remember dat yr creativity will not be limited by d camera's.
      Nik replied on

  7. Hi, my old canon camera you could crop photos. Can you crop photos on this camera?
    Thanks
    Danni asked on
    1. canon supply a disc which includes zoom browser this allows all sorts of resizing and many other photo changing . I dont use the camera for this but it does have photostitch
      "Michael replied on

  8. How fast does it take photos? Is there any delay between when you click "shoot" and when the photo is taken? I dont want it to take ages
    luke asked on
    1. no there is barely a delay at all. It's very fast for taking pictures
      Florence replied on

  9. does the camera break easily / is it fragile ?
    aaron asked on
    1. it feels very light and fragile. Hasn't broken yet!
      Florence replied on

  10. does it have other colour then black?
    lina asked on
    1. I think they do have a colour range. Best to ask the retailer if they have other options. It is not the most up-to-date camera but great value.
      Michael replied on

  11. when recording videos does it go to HD ? 1080p or 780p?
    codie asked on
    1. Hi thanks for your question it does 1280 640 and 320 hope that helps
      "Michael replied on

  12. Hi there.

Does this camera have a memory card?, buing for my fella to go travelling with so is the battery life good? Thank you very much
    Charlotte asked on
    1. yes and yes mine is a SDHC 4GB ie can hold between 900 and 9999 photos depending on camera setting battery very good long period between charges
      "Michael replied on

  13. Does the camera show the date and time on the photo after viewing or printing?
    A shopper asked on
    1. If you add the date and time to the photo via camera then you will see the date and time on the photo, if its there then yes it will show on a printed version, if not then no :)
      Zoya replied on

    2. as Zoya said - that is correct - just get one I know that you will be SO pleased and it is so simple to use
      Angie replied on

  14. Does the camera show the date and time on the photo when viewing or after printing?
    A shopper asked on
    1. No the Ixus does not offer traditional "Time Stamping" but you can add "Image Tagging" which should print out on time and date on the back of any printed images. Although I think this depends on the photo lab or shop get your photo's printed from.
      na replied on

    2. Yes, the camera has a date and time stamping facility both when viewing and on printing. If you go on menu and scroll down to date and stamp and set it on.
      Hope you find this helpful.
