Good points:
I use this camera when I don't want to lug around my DSLR, so size and image quality were my main considerations.

As my third Ixus (previous ones were the 40 and 75), I knew what to expect, but have been really impressed with this one. It is by far the most 'pocket friendly' version to date. By this, I mean that the buttons do not catch when taking it in and out of your pocket. I was for ever trying to take out my old Ixus’ out of my pocket to quickly take a photo, only to find that I had inadvertently switched the camera to video or play mode, by which time it was too late to take the photo. On that note, this camera powers up noticeable quicker than previous versions.

Image quality is good; however, as noted by others, it performs best when not on “Auto” – I always use “P” mode. This does not mean you have to muck about with settings every time you use the camera, it just means you just have to spend a minute having a look through the options and deciding which setting you like best and leave it at that if you want.

The HD video is a nice new feature, just be warned that the video can eat up memory pretty quickly.

At the sale price, this camera is an absolute steal. I have always had a preference for Canon point and shoot cameras (although, I would not consider myself a Canon ‘fanboy’ as my SLRs are Nikon).

There really is very little reason not to buy this camera if you are looking for a high quality point and shoot. It also looks pretty stylish.
Bad points:
I have no complaints to date.

The only potential (and I stress potential) downside, is the dreaded Canon E18 lense error, which affected my Ixus 75. I have not had this problem with this camera, but it is still pretty new. If you are unaware of the issue, have a quick search on google and you will see a lot of discussion about it. I would not let it stop you making a purchasing decision, but it is something you should be aware of.

Good points:
It looks great, the controls are easy to use and well laid out, changing settings is straightforward and it easily slips into a pocket. Picture quality is very good and it takes HD video.
Bad points:
The burst shooting mode results in blurred images but taking shots manually is only slightly slower.
Not much in the way of bad points really...

Good points:
It is a perfect size, can fit in my pocket comfortably. Has a great matte finish rather than glossy, so looks good. Big screen to view photos. Excellent camera!
Bad points:
The black does scratch off easily. I've only had it about a month and there is a small bit of metal showing, but hasn't peeled much more than that.
Also there is no viewfinder, which is quite common in these small ones, but I quite liked that about the older version (which I also have)
