Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Brother MFC-6490CW
-
Are you entirely happy with the quality of A3 colour photos on gloss paper?
(If not entirely, pleae outline your reservations about it.)-
Sorry we have not used that yet.
-
Have only done A4 on semi gloss - quality was fine. Much better than on standard white paper.
-
-
i keep ceaning the heads but the print out shows the yellow and blue square spots are missing and i has cleaned the heads over 20 times
-
maybe the ink cartridges are empty and need to be replaced - if not a problem with your print heads
-
We have not had this problem but we find the ink cartridges run out quicklyand they seem not to clear the dots after changing straight away.
-
I have encountered this problem when the ink level is low in the relevant cartridge and when the printer hasn;t been used for a while so the print heads get 'dried out'. I found that, apart from cleaning the print heads a coulpe of times, printing something that uses a lot of ink e.g. an A4 size single picture seemed to help - I guess because it forces a lot of ink through them as opposed to just printing text. If the ink level is low you will need to change the cartridge. I have recently been using cartridges from an alternative manufacturer which are a fraction of the cost (£12.00 for a complete set of 5) of Brother originals and they work fine.
