Good points:
Before purchasing the built-in BEKO fridge freezer, we researched the product with WHICH, the consumers magazine. The energy consumption is very low and the fridge is cold also with the lowest setting. The freezer space is bigger also in width than other fridge freezers of the same external dimensions. It is very silent. It was easy to install.
Bad points:
Our choice was restricted by the fact that we needed that size only for the space available. The fridge is not very spacious but still meeting our requirements.

Good points:
Nice fridge freezer, 2 year warranty which is one year more than most, and it's a very good price.
Bad points:
Freezer a bit smaller than expected, especially the bottom drawer which can come out when you pull it out, but not a major problem.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Beko BC50F 8.1CU

  1. Hi, Is this a 50/50 or a 60/40?
    A shopper asked on
    1. Hi sorry for the delay i think its neither, i have a 50/50 unit and to make the doors work had to pack up the bottom using the shelfs i did'nt need from the unit 4 in total, i tried using 60/40 doors but they did'nt work at all. This in turn makes the top shelves in the fridge high, hope this helps.

  2. Hi, I need to know how high in cm the freezer door
    Alex asked on

  3. Hi

I will be taking the food out my original freezer 30 mins before my new fridge freezer is installed, how long can I keep the frozen food out of the freezer before it is too dangerous to put back in and once the Beko BC50F fridge freezer is plug in how long do I wait till I can put food back in the freezer?

    Regards
    Liz asked on
    1. Hello Liz, I am not an expert on food technology so I am sorry I can't give you a time for this but I can make a suggestion which may be of help. Obviously you would 'run down' your stock of frozen food in the days before the change, so I suggest you buy freezer blocks so that you can store your remaining food in a freezer bag or box along with your remaining frozen food, while the change over takes place, but this would only be for a short time. An ideal solution would be to beg a little space from your neighbours in their freezers. Taking frozen food out of a freezer even for short periods can be risky, and the appliance change-over time may well be much longer than you are hoping for.To adapt my kitchen cabinet to accept my Beko after the previously installed Ocean freezer took well over an hour, and remember that once switched on the new freezer needs time to reech the desired temperature.
      Regards David

    2. Hi Liz,
If your new fridge freezer has not been transported in a horizontal position, wait 1hr before switching it on and it will reach working temp pretty quickly.if fridge has been transported horizontally wait 4hrs before switching on.I cant say how long your food will stay frozen, but wrap it up in newspaper and it should be ok for a couple of hours.Hope this has been of some use.

  4. Hi

I have a 90.5cm high bottom cupboard door to fit my original built in fridge freezer, how will i get this shorter freezer part of the beko to fit in to this this door size, so that i can open fridge and freezer separately as before?

    Hazel asked on
    1. Hi Hazel,

My bottom cupboard door is also 90.5cm high and the top one is 92cms high. It fits perfectly. The fridge freezer sits inside the cupboard so that it is above the plinth. My units are from Ikea if that helps you visualize it.
      Julie replied on

    2. I dont think this Beko will fit as it is a 50 50 fridge freezer so your doors need to be 50 50 split.
      Regards
      Tom
      Tom replied on

    3. Dear Hazel, I am not certain of your problem as I need more information; the internal height of your cabinet and the size of the upper cabinet door.
But as many kitchen manufacturers make both doors the same then fitting sould be straight forward although perhaps a little tight.
If both doors are the same height then the total height would be 1810 mm plus 3mm (cabinet doors are always a little short of the cabinet height) and plus 3mm gap between the 2 doors. Thats 1816mm total. Off that total is the thickness of the cabinet top shelf and the thickness of the bottom shelf (often 36mm).......which leaves 1780mm and the appliance height is 1770mm.
My doors are higher and the cabinet too, but I reckon that if both of your doors are 905mm then the bottom door will just clear the lower hinge of the refrigerator, assuming your appliance is standing on the base panel of the cabinet.
When you have arrived at the correct locations of the top and bottom doors and have fitted them to the cabinet, its essential to adjust both of these door so that they don't foul each other when open, that is the 3mm gap between the doors is always present. Only when you are satisfied that the doors are correctly adjusted then you can start to link the appliance doors with the cabinet doors.
Take your time, you only do this once and contact me again if you have further problems.
      Regards David

  5. Has anyone used the Dixons intregated appliance installation service? I have measured my old broken down Fridge Freezer and it seems smaller than the Beko model. The doors are 50/50 but I am concerned the installation could back fire...any comments?
    Thanks Lesley
    Lesley asked on
    1. Sorry I cant help, I fitted mine myself and had to put a small shelf inside cupboard to stand Freezer on.Looks great but doors definitely not 50/50 on my set up.
      Regards Ron

    2. The one I fitted at my parents was relatively easy to do ,I used some packing and the supplied sealing strip to get a great fit and the unit itself has been fine, very pleased with it .

  6. Everyone comments on how small the freezer drawers are. What are their individual sizes. Thanks
    Sandra asked on
    1. Hi Sandra
I do find the Drawers on the freezer Small but the fridge is big, so I buy a lot more fresh food, and only freeze for a week now! no waste

      Susan replied on

    2. Freezer drawers get smaller as makers strive achieve better energy ratings by insulating the walls of the fridge/freezer. The size of drawers are then reduced accordingly. As an aside I still think its a good machine.
exact sizes should be on retailers and manufacturers websites.
