- Good points:
- Size and weight. I am also pleased that I have purchased the white version as I find it much more pleasant to work on than a black keypad.
- Bad points:
- The first few days were difficult without a mouse but it hasn't taken me long to get used to it - so no problems.

Previously had an Asus EEPC with Linux and became too reliant on it, but needed Windows for 3G internet connection and no dongles are available with Linux software. Also it had limited memory when it was converted to Windows operating system. I could use the dongles but the available memory was insufficient for further applications once the essentials and office was loaded
To choose a replacement was not a problem, another ASUS.
The Seashell meets all the requirements, portability, flexibility, I now have a choice of several 3G networks when abroad and memory in abundance.
To tick the boxes.
Battery life is not the best in the pack but is very good and more than sufficient for travel. The charger is larger than the EEPC and a bit more lumpy.
Design is excellent as expected from ASUS and the new feature to run either Linux or Windows on start-up is great. A quick switch on to Linux, link to the internet, and download emails within a minute disconnect from the internet. Switch over to windows for report writing, handling documents etc when required. When buying 3G time and data abroad it saves both time and money.
Size and weight, not as totally portable as previous notebook but the features outweigh the hassle.
Performance, The choice of Linux and Windows was a good idea. Overall excellent.
Value for money, very good and even better when you shop around for the best deal.
Overall, ASUS technical were extremely helpful when I tried to change the old EEPC from Linux to Windows. Their support second to none. Excellent product and would never consider another notebook manufacturer, their product outshines many lap top models. - Bad points:
-
Only gripe the coaxial power connector into the notebook has changed from a substantialy sized product on the EEPC to a very frail coaxial connector which could be damaged if the cable is tugged by someone tripping over the cable. Treat it with great care. That is the only reason why I down graded the Design score.
I now have a very good redundant EEPC and feel guilty not using it.
