The Mac Mini has an amazingly small footprint, is extremely powerful and completely silent compared to my PC tower. Out of the box from switching it on it started up within seconds, detected my wireless network as soon as it was loaded up and I was online within minutes of plugging it in.
The MacMini comes bundled with iMovie, iDVD, iTunes, iPhoto and Garageband so there were a few programmes to get me started on the Mac side, but dividing the hard drive into two partitions to install Windows7 on the second partition and run the Mac as a PC when I need to through bootcamp was also a synch - Bad points:
- My only complaint is that it requires a DVI-D or HDMI connection and you need to buy an optional VGA cable.

- Good points:
- It is a well built classy product in a very small box.
- Bad points:
- It is probably not as powerful as a full Apple Mac but very good nonetheless.

- Good points:
-
works out the box with minimal problems
the mac mini footprint is really small and it fits in easily under a tv as a media centre or as an incredibly small replacement for a desktop system - Bad points:
-
almost impossible to set up wirelessly so you do need a mouse and keyboard to get started
the 2 gig RAM that came with the unit I purchased is inadequate for anything other than simple tasks

- Good points:
- It's very good looking. Takes up very little space, and sits - very quietly - on my desk. It's also very powerful and quick for its size
- Bad points:
- As it's an Apple/Mac it is expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for!

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Apple Mac Mini MC270B/A
-
hello is it possible to transfer my itunes from my windows laptop to the mac mini ,as the itunes downloads are confined to the pc you download them onto ,so i am led to believe. thanks for any help regards micheal.
-
Yes, it is possible to transfer your iTunes from one machine to another, or share iTunes accounts across multiple computers if you so wish. If you have specific purchases that are currently copy protected to a specific machine, you can deauthorise the machine they're on and authorise your new machine. The purchases are linked to your username and iTunes Store account. There are loads of different options available with iTunes and how to's on the Apple store. Hope that helps.

im looking to do music editing...is this apple mac any good?
-
One of the things Apple were always good for was music and video editing, which is why they all come bundled with Garageband, iMovie and iDVD. The only thing to check out is what connections you would need for any editing hardware.
-
-
does this come with a monitor
-
No
-
Nope. All you get is the computer, power supply, dvi adaptor (VGA sold separately) and the software discs.
No keyboard, mouse or monitor is supplied with it.
-
-
can u get lagic pro software on here so you can make your own music?
-
One of the most bizarre questions as I believe that's an apple app but yes you can. You also get GarageBand bundled with the mac which allows for recording, sampling, composing and editing, right out of the box. Already installed so you can start making music as soon as you have it fired up.

Score 8.0/10Very quiet
Looks fabulous.
Processor has been plenty fast enough for day to day tasks.
Wireless keyboard and track pad are a must
I go the DVD player, but used as a multimedia center it could do with a blu-ray.
