- Good points:
- Excellent Product with fast and efficient features.
- Bad points:
- This edition was the Student edition which means you have some hoops to jump through before it is registered as yours and if you have no children at school and dont work in education it looks like you pay for the product and only get a 30 day trial.

- A fantastic product that will compensate for many imperfections in any shots you take. Far easier than my previous experiences of Photoshop Elements.
- Bad points:
- Not really a bad point, but you should be aware that it takes a pretty well spec'ed computer to run it. The product says you need a minimum of 2GB of RAM - which I had, but it was very slow so I'd advise an upgrade to at least 4GB (which is easy to do, but you'll need to budget for the upgrade if you're currently running on limited RAM).

It slots in perfectly alongside my Adobe PS 4 and Essentials 7 with easy access to both and with my X-rite Colour Checker Passport as a plug in it saves me hours of unecessary editing,especially with the sync option I can edit more than one picture at a time. The catalogue helps me find the picture/s I want a lot faster than Adobe bridge, I can now find pictures by what camera I used.
I'm still learning how to use it, as I have only had it a few weeks but it is easy to use more or less straight out of the box, the layout is different than Photoshop Raw,which I like, it is more intuative and the layout is clearer( no icons to click at the top of the screen it's all written out in dropdown menus on the right of the screen) no worries about clicking the wrong icon. All in all a brilliant product. - Bad points:
- Nothing really at this point as I have only had it a short time,apart from it is a tad RAM hungry, but then so is Photoshop if not more so.

how does this student teacher edition work how do i prove im a teacher or student do i need to get code for disc etc

as far as i am aware you do not need to prove you are a student or teacher as it is not the full version of lightroom and some of the editing operations may not be included

does lightroom support canon cr2

Not sure exactly what CR2 does - as far as I know it's just what Canon use for processing their RAW files - I shoot all my EOS photos in RAW format and they download straight into Lightroom for twaking up and outputting as JPEGs - no probs. Hope this helps.

I want to purchase photo editing software, as Lightroom 3 is now 95.00, (reduced from 229.99) it seems a fantastic deal
Is this a stand alone product? Can this be used to edit photos even if its the only Photoshop product I own? I dont require a previous version to use or install this?
Hope someone is able to shed some light

This is a stand alone editing package and regardless of the price is the full version.The editing tools are easy to use and access and the results are immediate without having to use several layers.
